Chapter 51: Chapter 51 - Cleaning and Learning

Skalain sat down in the grand hall of the Dark Archive Temple, a sense of purpose guiding his thoughts. He took out a worn leather journal and a quill, ready to outline his plans. The first item on his list was to clean and restore the temple, transforming it into a livable space for himself.

"So, let's make it."

Skalain ventured into each room, armed with brooms, brushes, and cleaning supplies.

He swept away the layers of dust and cobwebs that had accumulated over the years, revealing the true beauty of the temple's architecture.

He meticulously scrubbed the stone floors, restored the wooden furniture, and polished the tarnished artifacts that adorned the walls.

As the temple gradually transformed into a haven, Skalain felt a growing sense of satisfaction. He cried for about seven hours as he looked at the place with more hope.

Skalain is starting to understand that there are some people out there who would kill for even one day's meal, as it would give them some sort of meaning.

The grand hall once again radiated a dark aura, and the chambers exuded a quiet serenity.

"I should be awarded a cleaning award, if there are any in this world."

Skalain commented as he smiled and looked around, proud of himself and his work.

Skalain knew that he needed a space where he could find solace and focus on his mission without distractions.

With the temple now cleansed and revitalized, Skalain turned his attention to the vast collection of parchments he had discovered.

He knew that organizing them according to their content would be crucial for efficient access and protection. Skalain set up a dedicated area in one of the rooms, meticulously categorizing the parchments into different subjects and putting them into the cases.

"The cases are old but still usable; it seems like parchments and writings are protected by some kind of magic that I don't know."

"But I should not worry about these cases; in the end, I will be staying here for some time, and It should not be a problem to learn about these things."

His hands moved with care and reverence as he handled each fragile parchment, his eyes scanning the intricate words. As he kept working.

Skalain understood the value and potential contained within these ancient texts, and he made a mental note to dedicate time each day to delve into their depths, expanding his own knowledge and unlocking the secrets they held.

"I don't know why, but I am getting excited as I see these texts and knowledge."

But Skalain knew that knowledge alone wouldn't be enough to ensure his safety within the temple. He turned his attention to the entrance, considering ways to conceal it from prying eyes.

He researched spells and enchantments that could create illusions or protective barriers, aiming to fortify the temple and shield himself from potential threats.

Days turned into weeks as Skalain immersed himself in studying spells of concealment and protection.

He practiced diligently, honing his magical skills to become proficient in casting the necessary enchantments. He created intricate warding sigils, carefully inscribing them in hidden corners of the temple to enhance its defenses.

Two Weeks Later:

"It is good that these things do not take too much time to learn; they are so basic that even my status system does not recognize them as skills."

"I still feel my magic power increasing, however."

As he completed each task on his list, Skalain felt a growing sense of security and purpose. The temple had become his sanctuary, a bastion where he could continue his experiments.

For the time being, there was no danger from outside, so it seems like there will be no problem for the time being.

With his plans set in motion, Skalain found solace in the renewed tranquility of the Dark Archive Temple.

He knew that his path wouldn't be easy.

"I mean, in no time, the path of magic was easy. It was the same as in the novels and books I had read when I was living on earth."

The temple stood as a safe place, providing him with the safety and seclusion he needed to pursue his goals.
