Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Challenges (3)

Soon, Ron and Harry had taken their positions on the chessboard.

Ron was extremely excited at this moment.

He felt like this step was specifically prepared for him. Well, in reality, it was...

Ron, who had been feeling sad all along, finally had a chance to show himself.

However, Ron's blissful fantasy was quickly shattered by Arthur.

"Geminio"

"Geminio"

Arthur said that even though he didn't know how to play Wizard's Chess, he was a wizard himself, right?

As a wizard, of course, he had to learn how to use magic to defeat magic.

With a few duplication spells, the number of black chess pieces on the board multiplied several times.

Arthur still thought it wasn't enough and added a protective shield to each black piece.

A few minutes later, everyone watched as each white piece was surrounded and overpowered by three to five black pieces.

They fell into a state of speechlessness.

Harry and Hermione looked at Arthur with admiration, showing that they had learned something.

Ron, on the other hand, had a face of shattered expectations. He muttered to himself, "This isn't Wizard's Chess. It shouldn't be like this."

He looked like someone whose toy had been broken.

After Arthur violently cleared the white pieces from the board one by one, the door located at the back of the white side immediately opened.

It seemed like they were excited to send these troublemakers away as soon as possible.

The group entered one by one, moving on to the next challenge.

However, the place turned out to be empty.

They smell a bad smell in the air.

Hermione analyzed, "This should be Professor Quirrell's challenge. It was supposed to be the troll, but Arthur must have taken care of it."

Harry and Ron nodded slowly.

Indeed, they still hadn't proven themselves useful.

Then everyone arrived in the next room. As soon as they entered, flames of two different colors rose up, blocking both the path they came from and the path ahead.

There was only a table in the middle, with seven differently shaped bottles placed on it. There was also a piece of parchment.

Hermione walked forward and picked up the parchment to read it.

"It seems to be a riddle. Let's try to solve it," she said.

Arthur naturally wouldn't ruin Hermione's excitement. Since she decided to decipher it, let her give it a try.

After reading it repeatedly, Hermione walked back and forth in front of the row of potion bottles. Finally, she chose a black bottle.

"This one can help us pass through the flames and enter the next room."

Harry looked at the black potion and noticed that there was only enough for him to gulp down in one go.

He decided to drink the potion himself and go into the next challenge.

"I'll go in with you. I have a way to pass through this flame, but I can only do it," Arthur spoke up.

He could, of course, pass through the flame or even put it out right away. However, since they would soon be facing Voldemort, he didn't want to be distracted by protecting Hermione.

As the protagonist, Harry, of course, wouldn't have any problems, and he also needed to retrieve the Philosopher's Stone.

When hearing Arthur's words, Harry felt a sense of reassurance. With Arthur around, he gained some confidence.

After drinking the potion, Harry walked straight into the flames.

Arthur was about to follow when Hermione suddenly rushed over and hugged him tightly.

"Please take good care of yourself. I'll go find Professor Dumbledore," she said.

A few seconds later, with teary eyes, Hermione released her grip on Arthur.

Arthur promised the young witch to protect himself with a gentle touch to her hair.

"Don't worry, I'm very strong," Arthur said confidently.

After speaking, he turned and walked towards the flames.

As Arthur moved forward, a burst of fire appeared behind him.

"Chirp!"

A soft chant and a noble and magnificent phoenix, Furry, appeared behind Arthur. It's Furry himself.

With Furry behind him, Arthur became sacred and dignified. Hermione and Ron, who were already shocked, were filled with admiration.

The golden flames wrapped around Furry's body and then went around Arthur. Arthur was surprised that the flames didn't hurt him at all.

He smoothly passed through the flames ahead, disappearing in front of their eyes.

"How come it's you, Professor Quirrell!" Harry shouted, looking surprised at the last person in the room.

"It's me," Professor Quirrell's voice sounded very different from usual, carrying a hint of coldness and creepiness.

"Just now, I was thinking whether I would encounter you here, Mr. Potter."

"But I thought it was Severus Snape..."

Harry clearly couldn't believe that it was Professor Quirrell, who was usually gentle and always pressured by Professor Snape, who was the one scheming for the Philosopher's Stone.

"Harry, I've told you early on not to let prejudice cloud your judgment," Arthur, protected by the phoenix fire, appeared in the room.

"Professor Quirrell, we meet again. You were really lucky in the Forbidden Forest last time. But today, you won't be able to escape. And you, Voldemort!"
