Chapter 82: Chapter 82: Punishment

"Mr. Gaunt! Come with me!"

At that moment, Arthur, who was eating in the Great Hall, was immediately pulled away by Professor McGonagall and taken to her office.

In the office, Professor Snape and Harry were present. Professor Snape was attempting to lift the curse on the ferret.

"Mr. Gaunt, please explain why you broke five of Marcus Flint's ribs and cast a terrible transfiguration spell on Malfoy"

Professor McGonagall's face was cold as she sat at her desk, staring intently at Arthur.

She was truly angry.

She never expected an awful incident to happen on the Quidditch pitch.

Marcus Flint had broken ribs and was still unconscious in the hospital wing.

Draco had it even worse, trembling on the table.

The ferret he had transformed into shed tears continuously when he saw Arthur entering the room.

However, Professor McGonagall had come to know Arthur well over the past year and knew that he wasn't the kind of person to bully others just because of his talent.

So she suppressed her anger and wanted to hear Arthur's explanation.

Harry, on the other hand, was watching Malfoy intently, feeling extremely satisfied.

Professor Snape noticed Harry's pleasure and gave him a cold glance.

Harry quickly turned his gaze, trying to appear expressionless.

Professor Snape had no interest in dealing with this silly Potter.

Instead, he looked at Arthur with a dissatisfied expression.

"Mr. Gaunt, do you think defeating the students of Slytherin House allows you to show off your talent?"

Arthur looked at Harry in surprise and asked, puzzled, "Didn't you tell them?"

"Tell them what?"

Scratching his head, Harry asked in confusion.

"The incident on the Quidditch pitch"

"I did tell them!"

"What about the 'mudblood'?"

"Well, I didn't mention that."

When hearing their conversation, both Professor McGonagall and Snape's expressions changed.

Especially Professor Snape, after hearing the word 'mudblood,' his expression turned violent, like a wild beast.

"What do you mean, Mr. Gaunt? What mudblood?"

Arthur remained calm, despite Professor Snape's suffocating tone, and explained what Draco and Marcus had said on the pitch.

This was too much for Professor McGonagall.

She shouted in a high-pitched voice, "My goodness! How could they treat Gryffindor like this? Slytherin loses 50 points! No, 100 points!"

Surprisingly, Professor Snape didn't object to Professor McGonagall's punishment.

Instead, he coldly stared at Draco on the table.

Arthur had predicted this result and wasn't surprised.

He stood up and said, "Now that both professors understand the situation, if there's nothing else, I'll leave."

But Professor McGonagall stopped Arthur. "Mr. Gaunt, your transfiguration spell is very advanced, and I can't undo it for now. Could you please restore Draco to his original form?"

"No need to lift the spell!" Professor Snape interjected coldly.

"Based on my estimation, Malfoy will recover tomorrow. Let him stay as he is. He should pay the price for his words."

Seeing that even the Head of Slytherin said so, Professor McGonagall did not object.

After all, she also had a strong dislike for Draco.

Arthur pulled Harry out of the office because he had nothing more to do.

Until they were out of the office, Harry couldn't believe it.

Professor Snape had actually let Arthur off so easily. He looked at Arthur with a bewildered expression.

"Is it really over just like that?"

Seeing Harry's dumbfounded look, Arthur shook his head helplessly.

...

Arthur returned to his room and lay down on his bed, carefully thinking about the topics he would teach Hermione and the others during their lessons tomorrow.

Although Hermione and Cho knew quite a few spells, their performance was inflexible, and they lacked control over timing and accuracy.

Arthur planned to set up some moving targets for them to practice with.

As for Harry, he wasn't as willing to learn as Hermione.

After a whole summer break, he would surely have forgotten many of the spells he had learned in the previous semester.

However, Harry had a natural talent in the fight, and his only lacking area was the basics.

After finalizing tomorrow's plan, Arthur checked today's sign-in reward.

[Potion of Wolfsbane (Purple)]

He thought for a moment, realizing that this potion hadn't been developed yet (author's headcanon).

He decided to announce this potion and see if he could get a Merlin Order of Defense medal to enhance his reputation in the wizarding world.

He snapped his fingers, and a house-elf instantly appeared in front of him.

"Mr. Gaunt, Bart is delighted to serve you," the house-elf, Bart, respectfully said to Arthur.

Bart was the house-elf from the mansion given to him by Nicolas Flamel.

Arthur rarely visited that mansion and usually stayed with Alia.

"Help me prepare the ingredients listed on this paper," Arthur handed Bart a list and casually instructed.

Bart excitedly took the list, feeling very thrilled.

Since Arthur took over his contract, he hadn't been given any tasks, which made Bart quite sad, thinking that his new master didn't like him.

However, today Arthur suddenly called him and gave him a task, making him happy once again.

With a respectful bow, Bart disappeared with a Disapparition.

Arthur watched as Bart moved effortlessly, feeling a bit emotional.

Hogwarts had a powerful magical barrier that prohibited wizards from Apparating or Disapparating in the area.

Even Arthur and Dumbledore could only use the special abilities of their phoenixes to use Disapparition.

However, house-elves were not bound to this restriction.

It could be said that every magical creature had its unique traits, and as long as they were used properly, unexpected gains could always be received.

...

Not long after, Bart returned with the materials Arthur needed.

Arthur opened his suitcase and entered in it, arriving at the laboratory in the small mansion.

The ingredients for brewing the Wolfsbane Potion were not expensive, but exact control over the heat was hard.

Following the steps of the recipe, Arthur began to work step by step.

After a few attempts, he became proficient in the potion's formula.

Arthur looked at the potion in his hand, stroking his chin as he thinks how to maximize the benefits of this potion.
