Chapter 209: Chapter 209: The Duel

Arthur's expression right now is confused.

What does this person in front of me want?

Why is this person challenging him to a duel out of nowhere?

Wait, it's not him they're looking for.

It's Dumbledore.

That's even more problematic. Even the present Arthur wouldn't dare say that he could beat Dumbledore easily.

Where does this arrogance of the Head of the Auror Office come from?

Looking at Scrimgeour with a caring but intellectually disabled gaze, Arthur really wanted to ask him if he needed anything to help him think properly.

And Scrimgeour, seeing the look of "Dumbledore" in Arthur's eyes, although he didn't understand the specifics, felt a sense of humiliation.

Is this look meant for someone who's intellectually disabled?

Taking a step forward, Scrimgeour crossed the table and stood in front of Arthur. His wand was already tightly gripped in his hand.

"Dumbledore, what are you waiting for?"

Scrimgeour's arrogant words provoked an explosive reaction from the young wizards in the audience.

But now, this obvious insult from both sides has ignited the whole Hogwarts community.

"Headmaster, accept his challenge and give him a good lesson!"

A Gryffindor student shouted loudly while other students voiced their agreement.

"Headmaster, Don't spare him any face. Let him know that this is Hogwarts."

Meanwhile, Cho and the others who now knew Dumbledore's true identity watched Arthur with worry.

They knew Arthur was strong, but Scrimgeour was no ordinary opponent.

As the Head of the Auror Office, Scrimgeour had made a name for himself because of how hard he worked to get what he wanted.

He was undoubtedly one of the strongest in the English wizarding world.

The Great Hall became noisy.

Professor McGonagall angrily stood up, glaring at Scrimgeour.

"Scrimgeour, are you representing the Ministry in provoking us at Hogwarts?"

"No, I am merely representing myself,"

Scrimgeour remained unfazed, his gaze still fixed firmly on Arthur.

"I just want to see if Dumbledore is still worthy of the title of the greatest wizard."

"You!"

Professor McGonagall was about to say something else in anger, but Arthur stopped her.

"Alright, Minerva, there's no need to get so worked up. Are you serious, Scrimgeour?"

"Of course, I will choose an assistant from the Aurors I brought, and you can choose one as well."

In a formal duel, each wizard would have an assistant who would take over fighting if their partner was defeated.

It was clear that Scrimgeour was serious this time.

"Albus, I'll be your assistant!"

Professor Flitwick stepped forward, his face was full of displeasure.

They had been provoked at their own doorstep, and even Flitwick, who was usually very kind, couldn't take it anymore.

"No need, Filius, I can handle it on my own."

After a moment's thought, Arthur considered what Dumbledore would do if he were here right now.

Accepting the challenge was inevitable, but Arthur knew not to go too hard, and he needed to maintain the dignity of the greatest wizard in the magical world.

With a plan in mind, Arthur also stepped forward.

"Scrimgeour, I don't need an assistant. Besides, you can bring all your Aurors together. It's too much trouble to face them one by one."

Scrimgeour's face turned green when hearing this.

It was clear disrespect!

The young wizards of Hogwarts clearly heard Arthur's words and cheered.

As the Headmaster of Hogwarts, he should be the dominant one.

Arthur took out his wand and gestured for all the young wizards to make way. Then, he used Transfiguration to create a dueling stage.

Scrimgeour took big steps onto the stage, his gaze vicious as he looked at Arthur. His subordinates were a bit conflicted at the moment.

All the Aurors, including Scrimgeour himself, graduated from Hogwarts.

Dumbledore's authority was deeply engraved in their blood. Facing Dumbledore in a duel made them uneasy.

Seeing their hesitation, Arthur spoke gently, "You can come up as well. Let me see how much you've improved since graduating."

Arthur silently applauded himself in his mind. He had nailed Dumbledore's persona perfectly.

I, Arthur Gaunt, the Oscar-winning actor, can play any role!

After hearing Arthur's words, several Aurors exchanged glances and stepped onto the stage.

Taking a deep breath, Scrimgeour reluctantly accepted the situation.

It was for the best.

With this, his chances of defeating Dumbledore were now higher.

"I'll count to three, then..."

"No need, you can attack first."

Arthur interrupted Scrimgeour with an unquestionable tone. He needed to assess his opponent's skill before deciding how much strength to use.

If they attacked together, Arthur was afraid he wouldn't be able to control his strength and might accidentally hurt someone.

That would create a huge problem.

Although Scrimgeour was annoyed, he didn't object. He signaled to his subordinates, and they all raised their wands at the same time.

These Aurors were his most trusted followers, and their cooperation was flawless.

They quickly spread out and continuously cast enchantments and Shield Charm on themselves, demonstrating their combat skills.

After surrounding Arthur, almost at the same time, they unleashed different powerful and mixed spells toward him.

"The Shield of Achilles."

With a wave of his wand, Arthur summoned a silver shield that blocked all the attacks.

Scrimgeour wasn't surprised to see this. If Dumbledore was defeated so easily, he wouldn't deserve to be called the greatest wizard.

Their movements didn't stop. Scrimgeour and his Aurors continued to cast spells.

The colorful spells exploded like fireworks on the silver shield.

Professors Flitwick and McGonagall quickly joined forces to create a shield to block the bounced spells, avoiding any damage to the young wizards watching nearby.

The students dared not blink, afraid of missing any exciting moments. Most people here grew up listening to Dumbledore's legend.

Even the Muggle-born wizards who came to the magical world would be told that their headmaster was the most powerful wizard in the world.

But no one had seen Dumbledore in action and had no idea of his power.

Now someone fearless had stepped forward to challenge him, and they finally had the opportunity to see the greatness of their headmaster.
