Chapter 59: CHAPTER 59

It didn't take long for Wally's parents to arrive on the scene and for the wedding to officially begin as the congregation walked into the church.

Wally and Linda stood in front of the priest on the left and right.

"We are gathered here today under the watchful eye of God to witness the holy matrimony of Wally West and Linda Parker."

Holding the holy scripture of the abrahamic religion in his hand, the priest reverently declared the wedding official.

"If there is any fact that stands in the way of their union when the marriage covenant is about to be consummated, please bring it up at once or keep silent ..."

Yuri sat down with the others and watched as Wally and Linda pronounced their vows to each other.

In short it was the poor or rich set, and truth be told Yuri was feeling a little bored, the solemnity of the occasion made him slightly uncomfortable.

"You're bored, aren't you?"

At this very moment, Bart, who was sitting beside Yuri, slightly came over and whispered to Yuri.

Without waiting for Yuri to agree or retort, Bart continued on his own, "I can understand how you feel, because I also find this tedious ceremony boring."

"You know what? In the thirtieth century ..."

"Ahem!"

Suddenly, a soft but just enough cough came from in front of the two of them, only to see Jay in the front row slightly sidling his head and giving Bart a hard stare.

Bart immediately shut his mouth and sat upright.

After this interruption, Yuri felt less bored.

In the previous conversation, Yuri had learnt about Bart's life from Wally, and although the boy looked fourteen years old, he was actually only two years old.

Several years ago, Flash Barry Allen accidentally mastered the ability to travel through time using the Speed Force, and then went to the future of the thirtieth century.

Iris was with him at the time and also travelled to the thirtieth century, but since it was Barry's first time travelling through time, he couldn't travel back properly.

So Barry and Iris lived there for a while and had a son, Don Allen, and then the threat of the Reverse Flash forced Barry to leave Don behind in the thirtieth century.

Don Allen grew up in the thirtieth century and got married and had children normally, and his son was Bart.

However, Bart was a very special child, as he was automatically connected to the Speed Force at birth, which caused Bart to grow much faster than normal, growing to the age of fourteen by the age of two, and the overly fast growth would would cause his body to go into meltdown eventually.

Even the technology of the thirtieth century had no solution to the problems caused by the Speed Force, so Bart's parents sent him to the twenty-first century to have the Flash teach Bart how to control his Speed Force, though now it's Jay Garrick who is educating Bart.

It's worth noting that Bart's mother's name is Meloni Thawne, a descendant of Reverse-Flash Eobard Thawne for an unknown number of generations ....

Some time later, the wedding ceremony was finally underway, with Wally and Linda exchanging rings with each other and then kissing in public.

Applause erupted from the stage as the priest signalled for the crowd to stand up and join in giving their blessing for the wedding.

"Guests present, let us stand and together quote the Saviour's words to pray for the couple: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, bless you, bless you, and grant you floods of grace; and you shall live and die together, Amen!"

Yuri stood up at the same time as everyone else and also imitated the others.

Bart at his side, despite the reluctance written on his face, stood up for the occasion.

The formal and serious atmosphere was swept away as the ceremony ended and the feast began.

By the time everyone walked out of the church and back to the open-air dining area, the food was already on the table.

Gods knows if it was because there were fewer guests, so the cost of organizing the banquet was quite a bit lower, but in any case, the food on the table was quite sumptuous.

In the past ten years or so, Yuri hadn't really had such a sumptuous meal, and despite knocking two million from the blacksmith before, there had been no free time lately, and Yuri didn't have the heart to splurge his money on enjoying the food.

"Jay, Joan, it's been a long time since we got together like this, we need to have a good drink today."

Jessie smiled as she opened a bottle of champagne and offered to pour two glasses for Jay and Joan.

Then she looked to Yuri and Bart with a slight apology, "Sorry, not that I mean to leave you guys out in the cold, but you're not old enough to drink, how about a glass of milk?"

Bart bristled unhappily before saying, "I'll have iced orange juice."

Yuri, on the other hand, nodded, "Fresh milk, please."

"The blacksmith's earlier plot did scare the hell out of us, I thought Joan really had cancer, but it turns out that the test report was actually a forgery, Joan is healthy now, and really needs to celebrate." The grey-haired Jay said gratefully, picking up his wine and taking a nice sip.

"It feels good to be alive, but it wasn't that bad, at least we had a good time in Denver." The wrinkled Joan squinted and smiled.

"Yeah, the endless idylls were so enjoyable." Bart rolled his eyes and said.

"Oh, Bart, you're still young, a plain and quiet life is still too early for you, it's only natural that you don't like it." Joan touched Bart's head and laughed.

"Grandma Joan, I know you're back to health, but I think it's best if you cut back on the booze." Bart said with concern.

"Thanks, I'll be careful." Joan happily accepted Bart's offer.

"By the way, Jessie, Wally is all married now, he's two years younger than you, isn't he, when are you going to get a boyfriend?" Joan began to grill Jesse about his life plans.

"Oh! Give me a break, I just don't have time to think about that right now, with the company, and the superhero stuff, it's been weighing me down lately."

"That's exactly why you need to find someone to take some of the pressure off you ..."

'How stereotypical.' Yuri commented in his mind while stuffing roast beef into his mouth as he watched the group of superheroes in front of him "chattering", which felt quite novel.

Even if they were superheroes, when they took off their uniforms and returned home, they were still just ordinary people.

"That's right! Yuri, you look a bit skinny, but you're actually very handsome, you must be very popular with girls, do you have a girlfriend?" Jesse was cornered by Joan and had no choice but to change the topic to Yuri.

As soon as the words left his mouth, all the gazes of the crowd turned to Yuri.

"?" Yuri blinked, then quickly realized what had happened.

He quickly chewed the roasted meat in his mouth a few times before swallowing it into his stomach.

"I ...."

*Boom!*

Just as Yuri opened his mouth, a breaking sound suddenly came from the sky.

"Sorry Wally, couldn't make it to your wedding, too far from San Francisco!"

A bright female voice rang out from above the heads of the crowd, and then they saw a sexy beauty with long red hair, wearing a purple leotard with wheat-coloured skin fall from the sky and land on the ground.
