Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Axel
I was typing on my computer when I got a phone call, putting it on speaker my secretary said that a Mr. Tyler is on his way to my office. Not getting the chance to speak, my door bursted open, Not even having to look I told my secretary it is alright and hung up.
I decided to ignore him, when he, my one and closest friend Tyler sat across from me. "Can I help you with something?" I ask in a bored tone. "You can actually, we are going out tonight, no exception!" I didn't say anything, instead, I continued to work. Too much work to get done. A shame really, but success doesn't happen overnight.
"HEY DID YOU HEAR ANYTHING I SAID!?" Tyler asked with an irritated voice. I look at him, "Huh? You said something?" I said, not caring if he was mad or irritated.
Tyler sighed, " I said that we're going out to Cherry Pop and NO EXCEPTIONS! Got it?" I turned to look at him, " I'm not going. I have a lot of work to do." Even though I know i have free time today. With that, I turned back towards my computer and started to read my many emails.
"COME PLEASE! WHEN'S THE LAST TIME YOU GO OUT AND HAVE FUN!?" I wince a little at how high pitch his voice has gotten. I swear he'd be doing that on purpose. I didn't say anything and continued to do my work.
"Stop annoying me, I have work to do unlike someone I know" With that said I put my attention to the stacks of files on my desk. I sigh again. I should really get some sleep when I'm done.
Just as I was about to grab a folder from one of the many stacks, Tyler snatch it out of my hand. As I got up to get it back Tyler said, " You're not gonna get this back until you come with me tonight" I stared hard at him. I sat back down on my chair, rubbing my temples.
"You're not going to let this go, are you?" I said in a defeated tone. Tyler smiled big "Nope, now come on! I mean who knows you might find someone." Once Tyler said that he flinch once he realized what he said. He looked over at me nervously before he quickly cleared his throat and continued to talk like nothing happened.
I sighed, " Fine, but only this one time, got it?" Tyler nodded his head eagerly, "Make sure to dress nice and be there at 9 p.m. Okay?" "Yeah, sure, whatever now get out." Tyler left the room with a big smile on his face like he won a game.
" I swear he is a little kid," I mumbled, continuing my work.
Finishing for the day, I got ready for dinner with my parents. Sometimes I can't help to want a relationship like theirs.
"Son! So happy you could make it!" my mom said, hugging me. A laugh escapes me, hugging her back. "Of course, if I didn't come I was afraid you would hunt me down and kill me." We pulled away not before she slapped my arm.
"Don't be so dramatic, I can't hurt a fly" my mom tried to defend herself.
"Now love, it won't be surprising if you actually killed a person at one point. You are a dangerous woman." My dad said from behind her, walking up to us.
"Hi son, How is the business going? But I see you're doing good by the looks of it." my dad said, holding his hand out for shake which I returned.
"Of course, I learned for the best." I praised him, making him laugh.
He and my mom walked towards our table, me following.
Taking my seat, I saw my dad hold the chair for her, which earned him a kiss. Sensing me looking, he catches me putting on a smug face, making me roll my eyes.
"Tell us, my firstborn, anyone special in your life?" my mother asked with hope in her eyes.
Too bad it is going to be crushed. "No, mother. I do remember telling you I don't plan to seek a relationship." I coolly.
What do they have for dinner? I heard the food here is delicious. "Axel, did you even hear what I said?"
"Mother, I don't want to talk about nonsense. Let's just enjoy the dinner tonight. We haven't seen each other in months." I said, looking at both my parents. Seeing concerned expressions on their faces. But they nodded.
The rest of the evening was calming, my dad flirting with my mom like some high school couples, but you got to love them.

Around 7 pm, I made it home exhausted alright. Fuck! I forgot I'm meeting Tyler tonight.
"Damn, why does he have to be so determined? I'm too old to be dealing with his shit." After I let out my frustrated remark I went to take a shower.
After, I put on a black V-neck shirt, black pants, and a pair of black canvas shoes.
By the time I finish, it was 8:45 p.m. I went to my couch to wait a little while to leave. So while I wait for time to fly I put on classical music.
I never thought of listening to this type of music, however, it makes me feel like I can breathe again. it is the type that makes you feel many emotions at once. It is like I can literally feel my heart beating for the first time in a while.
I can't tell you how addicting that feeling is, but I don't want to rely on it. I am afraid that I will actually seek it out more when that is the very thing I'm trying to avoid.
I listened to at least 4 to 5 of BrunuhVille's music, a couple were 20 to 30 minutes long. I didn't realize what time it was until I got a call. I checked the caller ID seeing Tyler's name. I hit the answer, and put my phone against my ear. "WHERE ARE YOU!?" pulling my phone away from my ear so fast from his loud voice. If this dumb-ass makes me deaf, I am killing him. "What? And why are you screaming?" "Are you kidding me! Don't tell me you forgot already!?".
I reminded silent trying to remember. Then it clicked I looked at the time that read 10:26 p.m. "My bad, I lost track of time. I'm heading there now" I said as I got up and grab my keys.
But little did I know that one night might change my whole future.
