Chapter 3: First Mission
Leo adjusted his stance and opened the door, completely forgetting his haggard look and messed-up tuxedo.
Clank!
Opening the door he was greeted by a heart-warming sight. It was a lady about 5"9, with sky blue eyes and thick lips. She had an hourglass shape hidden within the extra-large sweater on her.
Maria García was his Latina neighbor whom he had always thrown a second glance at each time she walked past him. She was gorgeous, but after Leo found out she currently already had a relationship going on, he didn't see a reason to bother with her.
Until now at least...
Leo's gaze shifted to the messages right before his eyes.
[New mission acquired]
[Task: Seduce and have sex with Maria García]
[Extra information: As the wielder of the Lust inheritance. Host gains strength through sexual intercourse and engaging in immoral activities.]
[Reward: Unknown]
Leo's gaze shifted back to Maria as he swallowed hard.
Why would Maria visit him? She has never spoken to him, much less to visit.
"Oh my god, you look hurt."
Maria cried out in worry as she raced forward and grabbed Leo by the face, puzzling him even more.
Because of the confusion, Leo had failed to notice the small cut wound on his head due to the fall. He was bleeding but it was practically nothing.
'Hey, Hey! Back up!' Leo yelled in his mind, but he couldn't speak in reality.
Leo could only retreat by two or three steps before Maria's slender arms caught his face and caressed it gently. Her eyes widened with shock leaving Leo confused for a moment.
"I'm not saying you were ugly before or something, but I never noticed you were this good-looking," Maria said with her puppy eyes blinking occasionally.
Huh?
This information came as a shock to him, but Leo did well to keep his face composed and arrange his thoughts. Seeing the way Maria spoke to him without noticing the texts littered across his field of vision, it became clear that he was the only one who could see these things.
If something this magical can exist then what does it mean to him?
What does it mean to be the sin of Lust?
What will happen, if he should accomplish the task given to him?
Countless questions plagued Leo's mind, riling him up. Since he had nothing to lose, he might as well give this whole mission thing a try and see how it goes.
Leo shrugged his shoulders and shifted his attention to Maria.
"Do you want to come in?" Leo said as he slowly reached for her hands and grabbed them.
Leo felt Maria shiver the moment his warm palms touched her hands allowing his warmth to spread from his hands to hers.
Maria looked into his eyes with a dazed look unsure of what to say. She had seen Leo more than a dozen times, but she had never felt this kind of energy from him. He felt like an entirely different person.
"Y-yes, I guess I should..." Maria said with a flustered look on her face.
As soon as she stepped into his home Maria was stunned by the neat white walls. He had an LG 84-inch Ultra HD hung on the wall, with two three-seater and two single-seater sofas in the living room with a circular glass table at the center of the room. The ground was even covered with an oddly neat white fur carpet.
Leo's home wasn't extravagant, but it was oddly comfortable.
Outside, Leo seemed like an average nobody so no one really expected much from him. As such, his neighbors never even bothered to get closer or ask. Only after stepping in today did Maria realize that this young man who they all looked down on may be the wealthiest in the apartment.
"What did you say you do again?" Maria was taken aback by the sight.
"I am a junior associate at White Associates Law firm." Leo answered dryly as he examined his wound using the screen of his phone. When he realized it was only a small cut he breathed a sigh of relief. If he didn't have such a comfy carpet his injury from the fall would have been far more severe.
"How much do you make a month?" Maria asked out of habit as her eyes darted across the room like that of a starved dog searching for food.
"Enough." Leo responded with a slight frown, but he quickly discarded his discontent and regained composure.
"So why did you come?" Leo asked as he pulled out a first aid kit on a shelf.
He walked towards the sofa and sat while Maria sat next to him and began cleaning his wound.
While cleaning his wound she was close enough to feel his breath. Looking into the eyes of this young man, she lost her composure and her thoughts ran wild. Leo's question was something she needed to ponder for a minute before she could give a response.
"I was just stepping in a few moments after your return. I was walking past your door when I heard a fall. Since I just saw you walk in, I thought something bad just happened." Maria absentmindedly replied while she placed a bandage on the little cut.
Huff!
Maria exhaled as she hastily stood up as soon as she was done. It felt like the reality of her neighbor was far too much for her to handle all at once. However, Leo wasn't going to let an opportunity like this slide by. Since he planned to complete the task given to him by the system, he believed he would fail the mission if he should let her go.
Leo looked up with a calm and alluring look in his eyes as he met Maria's flustered gaze.
"You are leaving already? Since you helped me, I think I should do something for you". Leo extended his hand and held on to hers, preventing her from backing away.
"No, you don't have to do anything. I didn't do any of this to get a reward." Maria nervously chuckled, but then Leo stood up and took a step forward.
He held onto her hands gently as he looked deep into her eyes as if nothing else in the world mattered.
"I insist. A glass of wine or two won't hurt anyone." Leo said with a mischievous smile.
His smile was faint, and his gaze was intentional. Under his gaze, the last barriers of mental defense set up by Maria crumbled, and she lost her ability to reason.
The tension in the room reached its peak, leaving Maria with no room to reject his offer. She could only surrender to him and nod in response.
