Chapter 2: Lost
[Some time ago...]
A young man in his twenties with black hair and eyes of almost the same color sat in front of his computer looking for something to do. Wearing casual clothes he usually used to go out, he yawned and thought:
— I'm getting sleepy... I think I'll go to sleep... Hm? — however, something caught his attention, a new web novel that had just been released. — I'll take a look, just out of curiosity...
The young man's name was Lucas, and what he liked most was watching anime, reading manga and light novels on the internet.
— The synopsis looks pretty standard... 'Come and survive in another world.'
As he clicked on the novel, drowsiness attacked him, causing him to start closing his eyes and even faint.

The young man woke up, slowly opening his eyes until he felt something burning...
— AAAAAHHHH!! HOT!! — he screamed as he jumped from where he was lying, falling on the sand in front of him.
— Where am I!? — he asked himself after quickly getting up from the sand that burned his hands. — I'm pretty sure I was at home... Then I started to get sleepy... And probably fell asleep, but how did I end up in a desert!? — he wondered, looking around at everything.
All Lucas could see was a large rock on which he had just woken up, the sand around him that extended to the horizon, the cloudless sky, and scorching sun.
[Congratulations. You have won a one-way ticket to another world.]
— Who said that!? — exclaimed Lucas, jumping forward, thinking someone was behind him, but when he turned around, only the desert could be seen. — Where are you!? And what do you mean by that!? — he asked, looking more closely at the surroundings for the mysterious, somewhat inorganic and genderless voice and, realizing there was no one else, he began to feel nervous.
[I am a system that can communicate through your mind. You were the lucky person who was teleported to another world.]
— System!? Like the one that appears in several novels!? So you have some special function!? And why am I in the desert!! — several questions came out of the young man's confused mind.
[I'm here to grant you support and have some functions to do so. The reason we're in a desert is that you were transferred to this world in a random location.]
— Functions? — the young man focused on the word that seemed more interesting. — What kind of functions? — he asked, his eyes shining like a child waiting for his birthday present.
[The functions are-]
At that moment, the system's voice disappeared, and the only sound that could be heard was the sand of the desert.
— System? Hey, are you there!? — exclaimed the young man, before hearing some footsteps in the sand.
Looking back, he saw a person with a hood that was not very big, but for some reason, it was impossible to see the persons face.
— Wh-Who are you!? — he asked as he took a few steps back.
Although he could not see the person's appearance, he could tell that it's body was in a terrible state, with a bionic leg and burned skin.
The person approached the young man slowly, not caring about his panic, and then stopped a few meters away from him.
— … — in silence, the person stood in front of him for a few seconds.
— H-Hi? — trying to sound friendly, the young man greeted, but after a few moments, the person kicked the sand hard.
A cloud of sand rose into the air, heading towards the young man.
— Huh!? Cough-cough... Why did you do that!? — the young man shouted, covering his mouth and eyes with his hands, but when he looked back towards the person, it's had already disappeared. — ...What was all that about!!!
