Chapter 6: Bambi’s Finally Escaping, But Where?

Bambi's heart thundered against his ribs, each beat a drumming reminder of the peril he found himself in. Fear gripped him tight, squeezing the breath from his lungs, rendering him momentarily speechless. "Wh-What?" he managed to choke out, his voice trembling with a mixture of shock and terror.

He didn't know what to say. He was scared, but he was also relieved. He had been so afraid that Apollo was going to kill him, or hurt him even worse than he already had. But now, he had a chance to escape.

He looked up at Apollo, his eyes wide with disbelief. "Wh-What?"

Apollo smacked his lips, a casual gesture that belied the gravity of the situation. His hand, heavy and indifferent, came to rest on Bambi's trembling back. It was a touch that sent a shiver racing down Bambi's spine, a cold reminder of his vulnerability in the presence of the Alpha.

"Run as far as you can," Apollo said, his voice carrying a nonchalant tone. "Run as far as you can." before getting back up, and turning his back towards Bambi. "I'll give you 24 hours to keep running, and running to wherever your cute, little legs can take you."

At that, the Betas are shocked that Apollo was letting Bambi run away when he finally had him, but no one dared to raise a voice against their Alpha's decision, especially after one of their brothers had just lost his head from that.

Bambi couldn't believe his ears. The words landed like a blow, knocking the wind from Bambi's sails. He stood rooted to the spot, his mind whirling with confusion and disbelief. Why was Apollo letting him go? It made no sense. He was being let go? Just like that? After everything he had been through, Apollo was just going to let him walk away?

Eva, one of the Betas, looked particularly confused. Bambi could see it written all over her face. but she still kept her head down, not daring to question the Alpha's decision.

Apollo spread his hands wide, as if the whole world was his orchestra, and grinned madly at Bambi. "It'll be exactly like the hunts I used to go on. Yes, I'll be the hunter!" He pointed dramatically at Bambi. "And...you, my dear, will be my prey."

Bambi couldn't move. He was frozen in shock and fear. He had never been on the receiving end of Apollo's twisted games before, and he wasn't sure if he could survive it.

"I thought you wanted to run away?" Apollo's eyes suddenly shone vividly, making him look almost possessed. "Well, here's your chance. Run."

Bambi's mind was racing, trying to process what was happening. He knew he had to run if he wanted to stay alive. But where could he go with just 24 hours? He had no pack to turn to, no friends or family who could help him. He was completely at the mercy of Apollo.

But Bambi refused to give up. He took a deep breath and steeled himself, knowing that he had to push past his fear and run for his life.

Bambi kept his head down, slinging his bag across his shoulders as he spritned down the line, passing Apollo, the Betas and everyone else who just stared at him as he ran out the door, as fast as he could. He didn't know where he would go, but for sure, he needed to get the fuck out of here, even if he didn't understand why Apollo had just let him go.

As he ran out the door, Bambi felt a rush of adrenaline and fear coursing through his veins. He didn't know where he was going, but he knew he needed to get away from Apollo and his twisted games. And to his surprise, Apollo let him go.

Meanwhile, Apollo was confronted by Eva, one of his trusted comrades, on why he had let Bambi go. Apollo just smiled and shrugged, saying, "It's much more fun this way."

But Eva wasn't convinced. She knew Apollo all too well, and when he started acting like this, it usually meant trouble. With a look of concern on her face, she asked, "What's your plan, Apollo?"

Apollo's smile turned into a grin as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, beeping machine. It was like a tracker, but much more advanced. 'I want to see how far he will run. And then, the real hunt begins.'

Eva's eyes widened in horror as she realized what Apollo meant. He wasn't going to just let Bambi go, he was going to track him like an animal and hunt him down. But before she could say anything else, Apollo turned and walked towards the door.

'You all have 24 hours to rest. Go back to the cove.' His voice was cold and calculated, sending a chill down everyone's spine. 'And then, the hunt begins.'

Apollo walked out of the room, leaving behind a group of stunned and uneasy followers. They all knew the kind of power Apollo held, and no one dared to defy him. But at the same time, they couldn't help but feel a sense of dread for what was to come.

Bambi, on the other hand, was running for his life. He had no idea where he was going, but he just needed to get as far away from Apollo as possible. He ran through the streets, weaving in and out of traffic. He ran past people who stared at him in confusion. He ran until his lungs burned and his legs ached.

Bambi knew that he couldn't outrun Apollo. He had to find a place to hide. He turned a corner and ran down an alleyway. He ducked into a doorway and waited.

Nothing happened. Bambi breathed a sigh of relief. Apollo was serious. He had let him go. But the sense of freedom he had was immediately shut down by the fact that his freedom would only be for 24 hours until a group of seasoned, supernatural hunters would be sniffing him out. Then, it would only be a matter of hours before he was caught.

So, basically, Bambi had to find a way to get out of the city. He had to find a place where Apollo couldn't find him.

But where would he go?

He didn't know. But he had to find somewhere.

He had to keep running.

"But, where?" Bambi cursed. In the end, he was right back to that question.
