Chapter 57: Drowning in love

As the evening sky dimmed, a sense of foreboding filled the grand halls of Sir Howard's parents' estate.They had heard something had happened at the queen's estate and their son hadn't yet returned. When they tried to inquire the iron gates remained closed and the men who used to guard there were replaced by the King's guard. Left with no choice they returned home and waited impatiently.

Finally, the heavy wooden doors creaked open, and several figures emerged, supporting a wounded Sir Howard. His clothes were disheveled, and stained with blood, and his face bore the marks of a violent struggle. Duke Carnage rushed forward, his voice trembling with concern. "What happened?" he anxiously asked, his eyes fixed on the injured man in charge.
