Chapter 187: Misunderstanding

"Marcella…"

Uncle Karl called her and Marcella decided to leave. She had a strong feeling that John played a major role in her release today but that didn't mean she could be open with him about everything—especially, something that would put her in jail and her family's life in danger. 

John was still blocking her and she patted his arm to let her go. She didn't want to talk to him in here. 

"Let's meet later, John," she smiled and took a step forward. 

Let me leave, please…

"You didn't answer me," John held her arm and leaned closer to her. He was in her face. She tried to take a step back but he pulled her closer. His messy fringes fell on her forehead. "Did he suffer enough?" he asked again, his voice breaking.
