It was two twenty-nine on the great wall clock hanging from the sable green walls. Xander and his companions had been given two separate rooms on the second floor of the inn. Tiva was fast asleep on the bed while Xander and Leena lay wide awake by her side. The only ones missing were the mother and son from Olarva.

Kayla did not want to stir more trouble, so she chose to spend her afternoon alone with her child in the next room.

Finally, away from strangers, Leena turned to Xander to discuss his affliction.

"Show me your arm."

In truth, Xander had almost forgotten about his condition since he had several other important things on his mind. It took him a while to figure out what Leena was talking about, but even as realization set in, he showed no signs of panic.
