Chapter 14: Shirogane Pov And a New battle
After Px Shirogane is currently discussing with Dr Kouzaki. While leaving Renald Yoma to explore.
"The old geezer said an aircraft would never have that much firepower. That's alien! That's ain't friendly! And then I shove him the video to show the proof and he immediately gets to work to research it"
Recently Dr. Kouzaki has been smiling.
No no, not just any smile. Smiling like a damn maniac for the past 4 Days. And for whatever reason she has been bragging to him about what happened to all of the politicians who have been doubting the XG-70's ability to win the operation.
One or two days is fine, but the fact that she has not stopped smiling was already annoying.
But Well, he won't blame her. After the recent success of the Battle of Sadogashia, everything has been going our way.
A new defense line of the far Eastern line has been formed allowing to secure the Empire Of Japan's territorial far away from conflict.
The success of the XG-70 testing weapon. And most importantly, a New HIVE was captured.
..But the HIVE was certainly left not in one piece, which kind of soured Dr Kouzaki's mood since it was a loss for the UN not to receive the main prize of the operation.
But that's not the main point.
After the successful usage of XG-70, the Alternative IV supporters grew by a huge leap! And for the first time, hope to win this war.
But now that's not what important. The question remains upon the culprit behind our success, Renald Yoma. And the fact that he was a US citizen already raised many alarms.
"What are you going to do about him?"
Shirogane was asked by Dr Kouzaki to... get any information out of him, Shirogane asked why when can just interrogated him forcefully and she replied that our dear mercenary was scared of her so she asked for a favor since both of us were of the same age.
And the fact that She still does not know which organization he belongs to, if we hurt him. She was scared that there would be a possibility of retaliation.
Honestly, Shirogane can't help but agree with her. He does not look forward to fighting one of those aircraft if it were to happen. Just one single plane can raze an entire city, and scrape all of our TSf with the missle alone.
We don't even know how many of those ' things' he has and who he belongs to.
The plan was to let Lieutenant Isumi buy time while showing him around the base while, so he wouldn't get lost. While our team prepared to invite him to our little group once he arrived at the PX
Once he gets to know our little group and warms up more, more information could be extracted from him. And considering he was a similar age to them, it would be a lot more easy to extract information.
It's like interrogating him but with an extra step without hurting him. Just like the way she wanted.
Honestly how Dr. Kouzaki came up with this, was beyond him. And Kind scares him too.
She looks amused upon hearing that answer "Is it not obvious? Uncover the secret technology that he possesses."
She taps on the table a few more times before continuing "If we could obtain it A weapon that can neutralize an entire battlefield, with no risk of collateral damage..."
Shrioganee clenched his fist understanding her reason, what she said was right. If we could understand how that aircraft works, and utilize both the XG-70 and the aircraft he use. We could increase the winning chance against the BETA. Even lowers the casualties.
Maybe even ending the war.
The only problem was to get the technology in the first place.
Dr. Kouzaki smiled briefly before returning to the original reason she had called Shirogane. "...Anyways, did you manage to get any info out of him?" she asked.
Shirogane adopted a thoughtful expression as he explained some of the information he had managed to gather from Renald Yoma. The mysterious pilot, the young age, and much more.
Afterward, Dr. Kouzaki touched her chin and appeared deep in thought. Shirogane couldn't help but ask, "So what do you plan to do with him?"
"Right now we are protecting him from foreign intelligence agencies, If it falls to the wrong hand..." She sighed "Honestly I don't know how it got leaked, but the moment the United States got wind that he was a US citizen, those people have been pressuring us to give their dear citizens back. Even threaten us."
Shirogane's heart raced at the word 'threaten'. Do they were really willing to go to great lengths for a single pilot? Then that means that just shows how valuable he is if even the United State get involved and sours the already bad relationship between the Empire Of Japan and the United Nation.
"How about you doc? did you at least get any information out of him?"
"Other than the fact that the aircraft was gifted? Not yet, I was planning to let him rest first and question him more tomorrow. We're not in a rush to extract information from him."
"Hmm.. then did you manage to any clue about the aircraft?"
"It's already turned into bits and pits so I doubt we could extract any good information" Dr. Kouzai sighed again just showing how stressful the situation become. Before her smile returned "But the good news is we did manage to hire him"
"You manage to hire him?"
Hiring him was like hiring the Legend itself. The influence he has over Japan is already Nuts. Even children were talking about its story in the back of their minds.
That's why even the United States looking at the design personally and managing to replicate it did not expect to get results beyond their expected.
It was fast, agile, and could provide air support the ground force desperately needed. It was the best Aircraft design after the TSF itself. But the Laser class still poses a threat which halted production of it.
And when they thought the design limit prevented it. He just flipped the world again by dodging the Laser like it was nothing! Even standing a few hits from the laser still left him standing.
I can't tell if the aircraft is good or the pilot was beyond sane. But considering the injury and burn mark he received, I guess it's the latter.
"Did you find out the reason he managed to survive the Laser Class or avoid them?"
Dr Kouzaki brought her arms to her chin. "There was proof of advanced chips and high resolution that should not be possible with our current technology. While the aircraft was durability was just a regular Metals he did say he controlled the aircraft while half of the control was fried so I doubt that was it which only left one thing."
He was an excellent pilot, no doubt about it. Even able to control aircraft while it was on fire and defending the line? It's only what a Veteran could do. And the fact that he was only 17 years old.
He kind now understands what his teammate feels like, and the knowing scared of what the future holds if he keeps growing if he was just 17 years old. If he grew older how much stronger would he become?
Dr Kouzaki chuckles "And here I thought I found someone more reckless than you, oh boy you both would make great partners."
Oh, knock it off.

"Ugh.. my stomach hurts.." I said while holding my stomach.
I actually want to stop eating rice cause I don't like it. But the stare from other people looking at me like they expect me to finish all of this food is beyond insanity.
And there was so much rice that I felt I wanted to puke.
Worst Lieutement Kaswiwagi wants to give me spoon food, which I refuse.
But I don't know why but I felt that these people did this on purpose..
They are a demon.
But anyway after managing to get out of Lieutement Kashiwaga wrap, I managed to escape only to be intercepted by the mechanic who happened to go back after repairing the TSF.
Before I knew what was happening, I was thrown up in the air repeatedly and I felt sick again around my stomach. Luckily they were distracted when suddenly called by the head mechanic I took the chance to escape.
Only to find that I was lost at the huge base and found myself at the barracks where it was a bunch of soldiers who swarmed me this time.
This happened so many times that I found myself in a spot where they wouldn't ever notice me at the top of the school's upper building, gazing at the night skies while the chilly wind brushed against me.
My mind was still reeling from recent events.
Nobody should have known about my identity. But because I was the hero that celebrated Kyoto and Sadogashima everyone already more or less knows my identity. Even though I try my best to say I was not the Demon Lord.
I heard even in the capital was the same thing happening here. Celebrating that they won the battle, and knowing about my fame.
I know that these people are not real people and merely fictional worlds that we humans made up for the purpose of our entertainment. To only watch behind the screen as they struggle to fight endlessly against the BETA in the never-ending war.
But the emotion that contained in them, the gratitude, crying, happiness upon their eyes laid upon me...I can't help but see them as a person.
It feels weird...
I never got this many thanks even in my previous world. I was always busy doing housework at home without ever going out. And only got the time to see outside watch from the balcony, shopping, and maybe even go to the mall with my sister to have fun.
The only friend I can count on is my sister's friend, neighbors, and some of the shopkeeper but that's it. And relatives don't really count since I don't trust them.
Now that I think about it, when was the last time I trusted a stranger upon their first interaction? And actually, having a nice talk who is similar to my age since I dropped out of Middle School.
Man, I am lonely now that I think about it. I should find a friend after going back home.
As I continued to ponder this, the cold wind jolted me, and I was taken aback when a red window suddenly materialized before me. A sense of dread washed over me as I read its contents. As the screen begins popping out in red color one by one.

After the destruction of Sadogashima, they are looking for a new base to house their excess force. And have their eyes upon Yokohama as their main base of HIVE, Prepare to defend the Yokohama Base at ALL costs!
Main objective:
- Protect the Reactor
- Destroy 95% of BETA forces.
Side Objective
- All A-01 Units survive
- 2 of the XG-70 Survive
- United Nations force Casualties below 90%

Wait are these systems trying to fuck with me? Giving me a mission when I am not even recovering yet?
And what was with this bizarre mission? 90% casualties? How much death was this battle going to bring?
Before I managed to react on top my point of view appeared a percentage of some kind.
I looked closely to see on the left side red color with 100% was BETA and on the right side was a blue color with the United Nations word on it. And it's obvious what it means.
How many forces of the UN and BETA are left...
Just as I was still in disbelief at what I saw. The speaker suddenly blared to life loudly, its red light glaring ominously all around the base. Bringing dread to whoever sees or hears it.
"We are now at DEFCON 1!"
Time slows down around me as I hear what the speaker just said.
DEFCON 1? Am I hearing this correctly? DEFCON 1 means total nuclear war. Holy shit to think I am seeing in my lifetime, and it is happening right before my eyes.
"I repeat, we are now at DEFCON 1! Prepare for immediate deployment!" the voice on the speaker declared urgently.
Seems like my mission is not over yet.
