Chapter 13: 13. Opening

It had been 3 days since Ryūhei was given the two-story building from Xingqiu. On a daily basis, aside from completing the daily commissions from the Adventurers' Guild, he also brought along some wood that he would use to make bookshelves. Not just bookshelves, but also made a large writing board that he would put up in front of the building, which he inked on the board with the words Manga Impact as a sign. He decided on that name because he wanted to give a strong effect on the people from his manga. That was why he came up with that name.

Ryūhei did it alone since he didn't have Mora to hire anyone with. He even cut the wood he used to make bookshelves and a large board using his katana. When Xingqiu wanted to help him, he refused emphatically because he didn't want to be helped all the time. Ryūhei told him that there were things he should be able to do alone without the help of others.

Bookshelves have been neatly arranged along with several seats that customers might use to relax. It so happened that there were several chairs in the building, so he could use some of them. The rest, he made himself like when he made bookshelves. For the counter, he only used a dining table which he modified slightly.

After furnishing the shop with furniture to provide manga and chairs for customers, he closed the shop as it was already evening.

In the two-story building that Ryūhei lived in, the lower part was the shop, and the upper one was his room. When he returned to the room, he immediately recited,

"System open."

A holographic interface appeared in front of him. He tapped the bag icon, where the all-in-one printer was kept.

He took out the printer and the drawing pad altogether. After that, he opened the system market. Because there was a search system like in the online marketplace, it made it easier for Ryūhei to find A1-size art paper. They are quite expensive. Even though manga-size paper contains 500 sheets only 100 points. 10 sheets of paper for the poster costs 200 points. But, Ryūhei still needed those 10 sheets to decorate his shop. After all, the posters are his way to appeal to his customers since no one has heard of the manga yet.

Incidentally, the printer he got from the system wasn't an ordinary printer. The printer is about more than 80 cm wide and can be used to print paper up to A1 size.

He had attempted to print some of the fan art pages he drew for a test run. So, he knew he could print a poster up to A1 size.

More importantly, he was able to quickly print his drawings from the drawing pad. What he couldn't think of was that the printer had one mode that could print a whole book directly by filling in the paper along with the cover that had to be provided first. Naturally, he had to adjust the settings before printing via the digital buttons on the printer or via the drawing pad.

It was so convenient.

With his printer, he doesn't need to run to a publishing company because his printer can print full-color manga easily and quickly.

So, the only thing he needed before officially opening his shop was to decorate the shop with posters.

"Oh right. I forgot the important thing. Since no one uses glass walls in Liyue, I had to dismantle the front of my shop. Or is it necessary? Maybe, no need. I'd rather just leave it like that. I'll put up some posters in front of the shop later."

After considering it, Ryūhei decided to leave it be. After all, if he wanted to change his shop design, he needed to renovate them all. Changing the foundation to cement, looking for a glass crafter who can make glass walls, and so on. It's all too troublesome. Not only that, long renovations and a lot of Mora made him reluctant to do house renovations.

The next day, Ryūhei spent time drawing one volume each of Dragon Ball and One Piece. Approximately 180 pages for the Dragon Ball manga, and 180 pages for the One Piece manga.

It took Ryūhei almost two days or around 40 hours to finish both manga volumes. Actually, he only needed 30 hours, but he also needed to eat and sleep. In addition, thanks to the versatile printer, he didn't have to waste a lot of time printing copies. And he made 8 copies of each volume of each of those manga.

"Dang it, I forgot the plastic seal!"

Even though Ryūhei plans to show the manga to the world, of course, he still has to set a price even though he will give a discount due to the opening of his shop. Therefore, he also needs to seal the manga while giving a warning that if anyone breaks the seal, they must buy the manga.

However, he couldn't seal all of his manga. He should at least save one because the manga has never appeared on the market.

"Or maybe, I'll print the first chapter instead. If anyone is interested, they can buy a volume of the manga which contains several chapters. Well, that seems like a good idea."

With that in mind, Ryūhei quickly printed the first few chapters of each manga. What's more, since the book sealing machine on the system market required a lot of points, he ended up using cheap plastic wrapping.

Using plastic wrapping to seal the manga, he also bought some sticker paper that had strong adhesive which he would later make as a seal mark.

It was the fifth day he got the shop from Xingqiu. And that night he used to make seal marks, and wrap the manga in plastic wrapping. Apart from that, he also printed posters with characters from Dragon Ball and One Piece. Not to forget, he made two regulation posters for customers which he would put up each in front of the shop and inside.

By the way, the language used by the people of each nation is quite diverse. But somehow everyone can understand the language of each of the 7 nations in Teyvat.

For example, Inazuma uses Japanese, Liyue uses Mandarin, Mondstadt uses Deutsch, and Sumeru uses Hindi. But everyone seems to have the innate ability to read all of these languages, including the three other nations, Fontaine, Natlan, and Snezhnaya.

The characters from Inazuma and Liyue have also been seen by Ryūhei himself. He lived in Inazuma for a dozen years, so he is quite familiar with the language and characters there. But when he arrived at Liyue, even though the characters and languages of the two nations were different, he could still understand the characters and language spoken in Liyue.

With that understanding, Ryūhei also doesn't need to hesitate to write narrations and dialogues in manga using language from Inazuma, which is Japanese.

After preparing everything, unexpectedly it was already late at night. No, it's already 2 in the morning.

Ryūhei was tired enough since it had been 5 days since he made preparations to open a manga shop. And after he finished taking care of all the preparations, he slept soundly.

Ryūhei woke up at 7 am. Seeing the sky already lit by the sun, he immediately got up to wash his face. However, his body felt sticky after 2 days without bathing. So he decided to go somewhere to wash his body.

He spent more than an hour looking for a place to bathe before he returned to Liyue Harbor.

At exactly 9 o'clock, Ryūhei opened his shop, put up a large sign above the door with the words Manga Impact in it, wrote 75% discount on the standing board, and put up Dragon Ball and One Piece posters on the front wall of the shop.

Ryūhei was not very well known in Liyue, moreover, apart from Xingqiu, no one knew what manga was. Thus, he sat in front of his shop while making offers to passers-by.

About an hour after Ryūhei opened the shop, a man in his early 20s wearing a red bandana who happened to be passing by saw the new shop that he had never seen before. What's more, when he saw the poster on the wall in front of the shop, he became interested.

He saw a young man wearing sunglasses about 15 years old. He has long light brown hair with a single orange-red streak on his left. His outfit consists of a red short-sleeved kimono, a black haori coat, black tight pants, and sandals, which is none other than Ryūhei.

The man approached him while asking.

"Boy, what are you selling?"

"It's manga. Are you interested?" Ryūhei asked back.

"What is manga?"

"Manga is a story like a novel, but told with pictures on every page."

"Isn't it like a picture book?"

"It's different, sir. If you want to read it, I can let you try the first chapter. Which do you prefer, a story about searching for mystical objects that grants any one wish, or about a pirate's adventures to become a pirate king?"

"Oh." The man took a glance at one of the posters on the wall. The picture on the poster is a young man wearing a straw hat with several crew members and a ship behind him which is none other than One Piece.

"Then, let me try!"
