Not wanting to be left out, Xenovia promptly introduced herself next, "I'm Xenovia Quarta, I hail from Italy and, surprisingly enough, I am also one of Issei Hyoudou's girlfriends."

Issei could barely comprehend the words that had just filled the room, his skeptical gaze pinned on Xenovia. 'Did she just publicize our relationship to all these people?' He elicited in his inner monologue.

The murmurings and gasps echoed through the classroom as the news sunk in amongst his classmates. A girl in the back row could barely contain her shock as she repeated the news, "One of?! Hyoudou-kun has multiple girlfriends?!"

Tiamat, swallowed in a stubborn disbelief stirred in response, "What did Xenovia just say?!"

Amused by the unexpected twist, Vali giggled softly, "So much for just being friends, Issei."

Gathering evidence from the growing situation, Kiba tossed a keen observation at him in a low voice only intended for Issei, "It seems you really do have a fondness for girls with blue hair, Hyoudou-san."

Issei found himself thrust under the scrutiny of gaping eyes, each waiting for his confirmation. But before he could gather his thoughts to retort, his two friends, Matsuda and Motohama interjected with their demonstrations of ill-concealed envy.

"Hyoudou, you scoundrel! How dare you hoard all the heavenly-transfer students! You will answer for this!" Matsuda voiced out his melodramatic accusation.

In concert with his enraged friend, Motohama chimed in with a detailed analysis, "Weight 56 kg, height 166 cm, and measurements: 87-58-88 cm. An absolute Greek goddess of a second-year girl and once again stolen by our Hyoudou!"

Issei found himself astounded, 'Did he just predict her dimensions accurately? That's quite a talent,' he found his thoughts deviating from the escalating situation as he glanced at Motohama.

Swift as the wind, Irina stepped in to douse the rising fires of confusion, "Everyone, calm down! There was a small error in translation, Xenovia is still getting a handle on her Japanese. They are just friends, that's what she intended to say," her quick rectification seemed to relax the tense atmosphere slightly.

Glad for the mild diversion, the teacher seized the opportunity to change the course of the classroom's focus, "Anyways, where would the two of you prefer to take a seat? I believe only the back seats are vacant."

"To sit next to Issei," Xenovia stated without a hint of hesitation.

"Well, yes, there are a few remaining seats back there. The other foreign students are seated there as well. I trust you can adapt quickly and cultivate a conducive environment for each other," the teacher commented, pointing to the open seats at the back of the room.

With that, Issei found himself flanked by Xenovia and Irina to his front and Vali and Tiamat to his right; a host of beautiful faces that turned heads around the room. The pairs of curious eyes darted back and forth between him and his band of female acquaintances, building a palpable anticipation. But Issei had had enough of the distractions for one day. Ignoring the inquisitive glances and hushed whispers, he decided to finally concentrate on his academics.

-------

The remainder of the school day posed an unusual, somewhat uncomfortable adjustment for Issei. He found himself subjected to more than his fair share of extra attention and lingering stares from his peers as he navigated the school hallways. His companions for the day, Xenovia and Irina, walked alongside him towards the bustling lunchroom, leaving behind Vali and Tiamat, who were lost in their own agendas - or at least that's how he chose to perceive Tiamat's perceptible mood.

"We deeply regret not preparing our lunches today, we slightly underestimated the norms here," Xenovia confessed contritely to Issei.

Brushing her concern aside, Issei replied, "No worries. Although the lunchroom tends to be rather congested, you can never go wrong with a nice melon bread."

Contrite, Irina chimed in, "I completely overlooked the bento-making responsibility. I'll resume that duty from tomorrow for us, would you like me to include you as well?"

Issei, reluctant to impose, declined courteously, "The thought is really kind, Irina, but it isn't necessary. Just take care of yourselves."

With innocent curiosity, Xenovia enquired about his typical lunch routine, "What do you follow, Issei?"

Issei shrugged, "It usually varies. I mostly prefer to carry my own snacks and enjoy them at the rooftop. Due to my heavy breakfasts, lunch isn't priority. However, I do make the occasional foray into the lunchroom."

"Hope you don't find it inconvenient to lunch with us here today," Irina added, certain apprehension in her tone.

Issei chuckled lightly, "You two aren't exactly ecstatic about Vali and Tiamat, are you?"

Irina frowned, "It's not that I dislike them, but let's just say their not-so-warm demeanour brings down the atmosphere a bit."

Issei nodded, offering reassurance, "They treat me the same. Their resentment lies in my refusal to join their faction. If they create any trouble, inform me and I'll handle it."

Quickly after purchasing food from the on-campus stands, they located a perfectly positioned table near the window overlooking the surroundings. Issei found the company refreshing as they engaged in conversations spanning various topics from the intricacies of the Dragon Scrolls video game to appreciating the architectural style of the campus.

With a rare kindling of excitement, Xenovia asked, "Issei, what's your take on the dragon's Shout ability? Could a real dragon possibly channel that power?"

After pondering a moment, Issei replied, "The realm of possibilities for a dragon are limitless. Concentrating on voicing that specific Shout could be a viable focus for their training."

The thought of such power stirred intrigue in Xenovia. "Imagine possessing that power in reality! The essence of a dragonborn sounds quite appealing."

Issei feigned surprise, playing along, "So, you'd be content with being a dragonborn in real life?"

With fervent resolve, she confirmed, "Absolutely. I wouldn't mind it."

Her confession had Issei chuckling, "Being a dragonborn in reality could involve slaying dragons, you know."

Xenovia shook her head definitively, "I wouldn't resort to killing them. Instead, I'd love to be part of their kind. After all, if dragons can be benevolent creatures like you, it doesn't necessarily mean they're inherently evil. You could have passed for a heavenly dragon."

Incorrectly anticipating Issei's reaction, the comment elicited a tense moment, but he was quick to understand Xenovia's ignorance of the true nature of heavenly dragons. Nonetheless, he couldn't help but relish the overwhelming sense of irony, which translated into a subtle grin.
