Vali's words carried a hint of longing. "I kind of wish I had that same option, Issei... Some of us are bound to different paths," she trailed off, her thoughts seemingly drifting into the complexities of her own destiny.

The conversation took a turn as Xenovia, perhaps trying to lighten the mood, turned her attention to Vali with a curious question. "Vali-san, there's something I've been wanting to ask you."

Vali welcomed the change in topic with a faint smile. "Sure, what's on your mind?"

Xenovia dove into her inquiry with genuine interest. "How powerful of a devil are you? I mean, you have a Dragon King on your side, so you must be formidable."

Vali responded with a casual shrug, her confidence evident. "I'd say I'm likely more than a match for anyone in this town. Only Issei, Tiamat, or one of the Maou could give me a real challenge, I reckon. It would be close, but I might even have the upper hand against Leviathan. However, I wouldn't stand a chance against Gremory's brother."

Issei, intrigued by the mention of Sirzechs Lucifer, chimed in. "You're talking about Sirzechs Lucifer, right? Do you think he could defeat you that easily?"

The dragon-devil pondered for a moment. "Maybe... my grandfather, Rizevim, certainly considers him a serious threat, and that's saying something. Sirzechs is classified as a Super Devil, which is above Ultimate class devils. For context, Riser Phenex, who you fought before, was only High-class, a tier below Ultimate."

Irina, her curiosity piqued, posed a question of her own. "Vali-san, which devil clan are you from, exactly?"

"It doesn't matter, Shidou, because I'm a half-breed. Devils don't like half breeds," Vali replied, his voice tinged with a hint of bitterness.

Issei shook his head sympathetically, understanding the struggles Vali faced. "Just another reason why you're better off going my route…," he said, his voice filled with empathy.

Before Vali could respond, the bell rang, signaling the end of their conversation and the need to return to class. Vali glanced up, realizing they had to get back to their seats. "Guess we better get back to class," she said, a touch of resignation in her tone.

"Yeah, let's go," Issei nodded, his determination evident.

The school day continued, and as the final bell rang, the students gathered their belongings, preparing to leave. The teacher took a moment to address the class one last time before the weekend. "Alright, class, well, that's the bell. Good job on your research papers today," the teacher commended, her voice filled with approval. She then singled out Quarta-san, praising her exceptional work. "Yours was especially great, Quarta-san."

The teacher's announcement took a different turn as she reminded the students about the upcoming biannual Parent Teacher day. A mix of anticipation and anxiety filled the room. "Before you all leave, I just wanted to remind you about our biannual Parent Teacher day coming up soon," she began, her voice projecting authority. "You're welcome to bring along your siblings or whoever else might be your legal guardian if you want. This will count as part of your attendance grade, so I hope to meet all of your parents on Monday night."

Irina, always eager to participate, immediately raised her hand, seeking clarification. "Sensei, my parents don't live in Japan anymore. What should we do if our legal guardians can't attend?" she asked, her voice tinged with concern.

The teacher paused for a moment, considering the question. "The transfer students will, of course, not be required to bring their guardians," she explained, her tone understanding. "But they are still required to attend."

Issei let out a sigh, frustration evident in his voice. "Oh, I forgot about this crap… Mom and Dad are still going to be gone for a few more days," he muttered to himself. He pondered the idea of his human parents attending the Parent Teacher day, contemplating the potential risks it could pose. "Although, I don't know if I want my human parents coming to this school… They could become targets, or the devils might ask them unnecessary questions," he mused, weighing the pros and cons in his mind.

Feeling a sense of dilemma, Issei questioned his next move. "Shit, what am I going to do? Well, I guess it couldn't hurt my grade that badly," he reasoned, trying to alleviate some of his concerns.

As the class gradually dispersed, students walked down the bustling hallway, making their way towards the stairs. Issei found himself expressing his dilemma to Irina, seeking solace in their conversation. "My parents are still out of town… So I guess I'm going to take that hit to my grade and skip out," he confided, his tone tinged with disappointment.

Vali, always quick to chime in, couldn't resist adding a playful remark. "That's a shame. I would have liked to meet your parents," he teased, a mischievous grin playing on his lips.

In Issei's mind, he knew there was no chance of that happening. "Fat chance, Vali… You're too damn clever for your own good," he thought, fully aware of his friend's knack for mischief.

He couldn't help but imagine his mom proudly displaying embarrassing baby pictures, a scenario he was eager to avoid.

"Plus, Mom would probably start breaking out the baby pictures and shit to embarrass me. Oh god. Yep, I'm totally missing that shit," he mused, envisioning the potential embarrassment he would face.

However, a glimmer of hope flickered in his mind. "Although… Maybe I can get a pass on bringing my parents if I tell Sensei that they're out of town," he pondered, considering the possibility of finding an alternative solution.

As Issei and his classmates neared the stairs, he noticed his teacher walking past them. Seizing the opportunity, he quickly called out to her before she could descend. "Umm, Sensei," he interjected, a hint of urgency in his voice, determined to find a resolution to his predicament.

She glanced at him curiously, her eyes filled with intrigue. "Hyoudou-san? What is it?" she inquired, her voice laced with curiosity.
