Chapter 91: Sacred Sword

Few minutes earlier.

Areishia watched the figure of Ars who was gradually disappearing.

"Haaa... What's wrong with me? Why am I angry at big brother Ars for no reason?"

Sighing, she touched her chest.

For some unknown reason, hearing that Julia wanted to make Ars her husband, Areishia was dissatisfied.

"Maybe I'm too tired."

After drying all the clothes, Areishia went into the house and wanted to bake bread for lunch later.

"The firewood is gone."

Taking a bamboo basket, she left the house and looked for firewood in the mountains.

Areishia climbed the mountain taking great care not to run into bears, wolves, and other wild animals. Especially the Revolting Spirit occasionally appears.

"Hopefully there aren't any Revolting Spirits... If only big brother Ars was here..."

Gathering usable wood, Areishia suddenly realized that it had been a long time since she had climbed the mountain alone. Ever since Ars' arrival, she has always been accompanied by him, and the days were always enjoyable.

Once when the two of them met a Revolting Spirit in the forest, when she thought she was going to die, she was shocked to see him defeat the Revolting Spirit with his bare hands.

Even Elementalists would have a hard time dealing with the Revolting Spirits, but Ars could beat them easily. Areishia's worldview collapsed from then on, and her curiosity towards him increased.

"It's enough."

The bamboo basket on her back was almost full, so Areishia decided to go home.

On her way down the mountain, she accidentally catches a glimpse of a dilapidated building.

"This is the first time I've seen a building here. Maybe someone once lived on this mountain? But this mountain is dangerous for ordinary people to live in."

Areishia was about to take a step, suddenly heard a wolf howling.

"Awoooo..."

"Awoooo..."

"Awoooo..."

As an experienced person, Areishia knew there wasn't just one wolf, but groups.

"I have to find a place to hide."

She didn't panic, looking at her surroundings, there weren't any bushes or trees that a girl like her could easily climb. In the end, Areishia decided to hide in a dilapidated building that she accidentally found.

Above the door of the building is a name plaque that reads Hall of the Ancestors. But Areishia couldn't read, so she ignored it. And the main focus is hiding from the wolves.

Opening the door of the Ancestral Hall, dust hit her face causing her to cough.

"Cough Cough... How long hasn't this place been cleaned."

Covering her mouth, Areishia closed the door and tried not to make a sound. Peeking through the hole in the door, she saw a pack of wolves running past where she was standing.

If she was too late to hide, she might be eaten by a pack of hungry wolves.

(I should have waited for big brother Ars to come back. If it's him, there's no need to be afraid of this pack of wolves.)

Unknowingly, Areishia began to depend on Ars.

"Huuu… Thank goodness they didn't notice me."

Seeing the wolves leave, Areishia heaved a sigh of relief.

She didn't rush to leave, worried that there might be wolves left behind.

(Better to be safe than sorry!) Areishia took Ars' advice to heart.

While waiting, she looked around the room.

Sunlight filtered through the gap in the leaky roof, so Areishia could see clearly.

"Eh, there's a sword? Did the owner of this place forget to bring it?"

While observing, Areishia found the only valuable item in the room, which was a sword.

The drawn sword stood with its hilt on a boulder. It was undoubtedly an antique that was likely hundreds of years old but had no rust in its length or any dents on the edges. Delicate ancient runes were engraved on the flat part of the blade, emitting a faint blue light.

Areishia walked over to the sword and examined it carefully.

"This is so beautiful… This sword is even better than the village head's sword."

"Oh, right. Big brother Ars has always fought hand in hand. Since this sword has been left behind, it should be fine if I take it, right?"

She wanted to give the sword in front of her to Ars as a form of apology for her sulking brush earlier this morning.

As a matter of fact, Areishia didn't know that it was a Sacred Sword that no one had been able to draw for centuries.

"Um, big brother Ars looks handsome with this sword."

Imagining Ars fighting with this sword against the Revolting Spirit, Areishia was even more determined to give it to him.

Areishia reached out to raise the sword, completely unaware that a powerful Spirit was sealed within it.

At that moment, a Sword Spirit emerged from the dazzling light.

The Sword Spirit took the form of a little silver-haired girl.

"Who are you?"

The Sword Spirit's answer to Areishia's question was: "I am your sword, Milady. I will give myself completely and completely to my Spirit Contractor… You."

"Can I refuse? I know someone better to be your Spirit Contractor, how's that?"

Areishia didn't immediately agree. After all, her original intention was to give the sword to Ars.

"Milady's request was denied, I am not an ordinary Spirit, but a Spirit weapon made for use in wars during the Archeozoic Era. Milady has been chosen, no one can replace you."

The expressionless Sword Spirit replied. It was a cold, mechanical sounding voice.

"Compared to me, big brother Ars is more suitable. I'm just an ordinary shepherd."

Areishia had lived her whole life as an ordinary shepherd, she was unable to comprehend such deep philosophical matters.

"What's your name?"

"My real name cannot be pronounced in your language. However, in Tongues, Milady may call me Terminus Est."

"This name sounds a bit long... How about I just call you Est?"

"My name isn't Est, but Terminus Est."

"I'd rather not, it's quite hard to say. It's decided, your name is Est."

Areishia suddenly smiled, and reached out to stroke Est's head.

"Milady, please don't do that."

Est protested with a blank expression.

"Why not? Est is so cute~. As for the spirit contractors, let's postpone this discussion. Once you meet big brother Ars, you will definitely change your mind."

"I am yours, Milady."

"Hehehe, we'll see."

Areishia stopped persuading Ice. Facts speak louder than words. She was sure that once Est saw Ars, she would change her mind.

"Let's go home, the wolf pack is gone."

"Milady can use me to eradicate the wolves that come."

"No no no, I don't know any sword techniques. Besides, wolves are very scary."

"Regarding that, Milady need not worry. I can transfer the fighting techniques of the Archeozoic Era warriors, and make you the strongest person in no time."

"Forget it, I have no interest in fighting."

Areishia rejected Est's suggestion. Then the Sacred Sword turned into a stream of light and entered her palm. Now the crest of two crossed swords is engraved on it.

It was the proof of the Spirit Contract, the Spirit Seal.

"So magical..."

Areishia was amazed at that scene. Then she rushed down the mountain and returned to the village.
