Chapter 23: tournament?!?

After Kuki's victory over Hozuki,all of the samurai gradually accepted Kuki as one of their own,Hozuki and Kuki quickly became friends as they were the only two samurai younger than the age of 19 in the 19th division.
In an open field,two boys could be seen clashing their weapons.One held a normal samurai while the other one held an awfully big knife with a chibi Hanabi on its blade.Both of their weapons wear covered in a blue aura although the blue aura on the katana was significantly brighter and larger than the aura one the big knife.
"No matter what anyone says,you're a real monster Kuki!"Hozuki said with a hyper tone as he parried Kuki's strikes.
"Shut up Hozuki,like you're the one to talk"Kuki sighed helplessly at the chakra reserve monster.
"Cmon,you learnt chakra flow in 1 month!I mean, that's only slightly slower than my record of 25 days!"Hozuki said with incredible arrogance.
"Tsk,prideful redhead"Kuki replied in a monotone voice and deadpan look while he started to attack faster.
"HEY!DON'T CALL ME A REDHEAD!"Hozuki said with veins popping on his forehead.
Over the last month,Kuki ,with the aid of Isane and Hozuki have learnt the basics of Chakra flow,he's now able to cover the knives he makes in a 1 cm layer of chakra without fail.
Not only that,He's made significant progress in his steel release,he's now able to create bigger and more sophisticated constructs.One day,in a spur of passion,Kuki managed to create a big knife that looks similar to Ichigo's Zanpakuto, Zangetsu from the anime Bleach,with a small chibi Hanabi symbol of course.
Other than just training,Kuki's been going on patrol with Hozuki nearby because Isane only allowed him to patrol near the headquarters.Needless to say,Kuki wasn't happy about this but respected his decision nonetheless,they wouldn't want a five year old going around committing police brutality on petty criminals would they?
"Hey Kuki "Hozuki said to Kuki, who is training his Chakra flow technique.
"What is it,Hozuki?"Kuki said in a slightly annoyed tone as Hozuki just broke his concentration.
"Did Captain Isane tell you about the upcoming tournament?"Hozuki asked with a curious expression.
"Tournament?No,Uncle Isane hasn't mentioned anything of sort "Kuki shrugged as he scratched his head.
"Kuki,call me captain when you're with others"Isane said after suddenly appearing behind the two boys as they jolted up in surprise.
"Captain?!you really scared me there-"Hozuki said with a nervous chuckle.
"Captain Isane,is there a tournament coming up?Kuki asked as he looked up at Isane curiously.
"Hozuki already told ya huh?"Isane said and then excitedly added"That's right!The samurai order is holding a Tag team rookie tournament to observe the newest generation of samurai's potential"
Kuki's eyes lit up in excitement knowing that if he joined he'll be able to fight strong opponents.Hozuki who already knew this was also awfully excited.
"There's some requirements though,each division can only have 2 participants to form a team.Moreover ,all participants are required to be younger than 18"Isane added as Kuki and Hozuki frowned after hearing the word "requirements".
Kuki and Hozuki were about to say some when Isane cut them off with "I know what you're gonna say"and continued with "Yes,you two will represent our division since other than you guys,no one in our 19th division is younger than 18".
Isane's words made the young duo beamed with anticipation causing Isane to release a helpless sigh.
