Chapter 44: Aftermath
Jujutsu High, Tokyo... 15/07/2009
On a large burial ground, several figures stood in front of four graves in complete silence, but their expressions were plastered with severe pain and melancholy.
The weather was extremely gloomy, with dark clouds and large winds, it almost felt as if nature itself was mourning alongside the group of people.
At the very front of the group, stood several figures clad in pure black mourning robes.
There were 3 young men who seemed to be severely affected by the loss as they fought to hold back their tears which threatened to fall from their eyes.
Beside them, stood three ladies, one in a wheelchair, who bore slight resemblance to one of the fallen. Her cheeks were sunken in, the dark lines around her eyes were extremely gleaming. Beside her stood several female figures in silence.

' Oi Madara! It's Ichigo here. If you're reading this letter, it means I'm probably dead, or you found it by mistake. Ever since I joined Jujutsu High, I knew of the dangers that came with it, but I still chose to do it anyway.
I only have one thing to ask you my friend, please take care of my sister, my address is at the end of the letter. That's my only request. I'm just sad I won't be able to watch her grow up, and I'm sad I still died a virgin. Okay buddy, it's time to go now, I hope you become to strongest, I'm rooting for you ....'
Madara who stood at the forefront began to remember what he read in Ichigo's farewell letter, as he gave a painful sigh. Beside him, Yuki held his hand lovingly as she placed her head on his shoulder.
Beside them, Satoru and Suguru both had gloomy expressions as they watched the tombstones, especially the two graves in the middle.
On those two graves, the names " Kuroi " and " Amanai Riko" we're boldly engraved on the tombstones. Their minds were filled with memories they had made with the two ladies.
' Riko, I'm sorry.'Satoru clenched his fists so much, blood was beginning to drip from his hands due to the immense force.
" Satoru it's alright. " Behind him, Utahime walked up to him and embraced him from his side as she gently patted his back.
.....
' Kuroi, Riko, I couldn't give you the lives you both wanted. I couldn't protect you from those..those monkeys." His eyes grew increasingly murderous as he turned around and walked away....
....
" Hey mom, dad." After the funeral, Madara immediately spotted his mom and dad at the entrance, as he walked with Yuki and the girl in the wheelchair.
" Hey son, how are you?" " Come here."
The moment they saw him, his mother rushed to embrace him, as his father smiled at him.
" Yuki how are you as well?" Mina let go of Madara for a while, before smiling at Yuki.
" I'm good Mrs. Haibara. Good to see you again." Yuki bowed respectfully.
" Uuhh mum, this is girl I told you about. Her name's Sakura. She's the sister of my deceased friend and has no one to take care of her, can you let her stay with us for sometime please?" Madara spoke and looked at his parents.
" Of course son. She can stay with us for no matter how long she wants ." Mina smiled and said.
" Hey Sakura, they're my parents. You can go live with them like we spoke about hmm. " Madara squatted in front the girl and spoke to her as she nodded her head lifelessly which caused him to sigh.
" It's alright honey, we'll take it from here." Mina walked to the girl and smiled at her, before lightly embracing her and taking her to the car as they drove off.
" Madara. There's something I want to tell you." As they walked back into the school compound, Yuki immediately broke the silence and spoke.
" I thought something was wrong." Madara smiled and said. " I need to leave." She said as she stopped walking for a while.
" Why?" Madara said without turning around. " It's extremely important I leave this time. My family has summoned me back to the clan." She said as her expression changed .
" Can't you stay?" Madara finally turned around, and held her hand. " I can't. I'll handle whatever I need to do and rush back mmhmm." She said as she got close to him and caressed his cheek.
" Sigh." Madara sighed, but Yuki immediately closed the distance and kissed him softly and separated. Madara gave a small smirk, before wrapping his arms around her waist, pulling her closer to him and kissing her fiercely, as she responded in kind.
.....
" You guys failed the mission." Within the Principal's office, Yaga sat behind his desk with an exasperated expression.
" Just the span of a few weeks, the name of Jujutsu Sorcery was almost tarnished by the non sorcerers, for the incident at Tokyo airport." Yaga read a report to the two figures in front of them with a sigh.
" Those..., people, they should be grateful! If the sorcerers hadn't arrived on time, more people would've died. We even lost 2 of our sorcerers with Special Grade potential, all for what ? " Suguru immediately stood up and raised his voice, as his cursed energy flared up.
" Calm down Suguru. " Yaga spoke with a frown. Satoru on the other hand, was extremely quiet and hadn't said a word. " The higher ups have proposed a meeting to discuss the future of Jujutsu. Apparently, because of the death of the Star Plasma vessel, Tengen-sama has gone into a state of hibernation and is currently indisposed ."
Yaga added as he rubbed his temples.
" Her name is Riko Amanai. Not Star Plasma Vessel." Satoru immediately stood up and walked out, not before correcting Yaga.
....
" Nanami? Where are you going?" Madara after his meeting with Yuki returned to his home only to see Nanami who had packed all of his belongings outside his room and was leaving .
" I'm retiring as a sorcerer." He spoke only a few words, before he took his bag and his belongings and left without taking a look back.
" Why?" Madara asked, as Nanami turned around. " It's personal." He added before leaving swiftly.
....
" Mmmm. What a great harvest this time around." Within an abandoned factory, a short haired woman with stitches on her forehead looked at the two corpses before her, as she laughed in joy.
" Two nigh Special Grade sorcerers, one; the fastest in the Jujutsu world, and the other; the former wielder of the ten shadows technique. Who should I merge with?" She places a hand on her chin.
" For what I want to do next, I have to go with speedy for now..." She smiled.
A/n : Guys what do you think Madara's next course of action should be? The next chapter marks the end of Volume I. Volume II is going to star several new characters as well. Stay tuned for more and keep the powerstones coming.
