Chapter 45: Cross roads of Destiny

" Sigh." Within a bathroom, a young man with sharp features was taking a cold shower. His long black hair was scattered across his back, as he stood in the shower absent minded.

' I guess I can no longer be called the strongest alongside Satoru.' The young man thought as he chuckled, and whipped his hair back.

Over the past few weeks, there had been countless cases of cursed spirits crawling everywhere like bugs. He had exorcised again and again, ingesting a large number of cursed spirits that could be counted in the hundreds.

' The taste of a cursed spirit that no one else apart from those who shared his power knew; like swallowing a cloth that was used to wipe vomit.' Thinking on this, he felt his stomach curling and he immediately emptied his stomach on the floor.

Ever since that fateful day, he had been asking himself one simple question; Who was he doing all this for?

The very people he was trying to save and protect were the very same people trying to bring down the Jujutsu empire with their actions.

" Fucking monkeys!" He spat out, as he wiped out the traces of his vomit from his lips and walked out staggering.

...

" Oi Yuki senpai, you're leaving?" Immediately after the bath, he walked out to see a familiar face getting ready on her motorcycle.

" Yeah. Sorry for not telling you guys." Yuki smiled as she stood by her ride.

" Does he know?" Suguru asked as he stood beside her. " Yeah, he does." She smiled and answered with a small smile.

" Are you okay Suguru, you look like you've lost weight. Is it because of the incidences that have been happening?" She asked as she looked at his haggard face.

" I'm fine senpai, don't worry about me. Besides I came to ask you something." He smiled and said.

" Well, go ahead." She smiled back.

" Senpai, is it possible to create a world without cursed spirits?" He asked with a small smile.

" Well yeah, hypothetically, there could be a world without cursed spirits." She answered after thinking for a moment.

" I have to leave, but I can spare you a few minutes." She smiled and put her helmet on the seat.

" What are cursed spirits made of in the first place ?" She asked.

" Excess negative emotions leak from humans and with time, that energy coagulates to form cursed spirits." He answered back. " Excellent. And as such, there are two ways of creating a world with no cursed spirits." Yuki said.

"1. Make all of humanity lose their cursed energy, and 2, make all of humanity learn to control their cursed energy. The first option is a pretty good route to take. In fact, there's a model case, someone you should know about." She said with raised fingers.

" You mean Zen'in Toji, the madman who attacked us?" Suguru asked with a frown.

" Yeah, he was a special case even amongst Jujutsu users with heavenly binding curse. He had close to zero cursed energy, even lesser than an average human being." Yuki nodded and said.

" If we can research how the heavenly restriction curse works, we can replicate in humans, so they can achieve that state, however he's dead now." Yuki shook her head.

" That leaves the second option. In summary, no cursed spirits would be born if all of humanity were Jujutsu Sorcerers." Yuki smacked her palms together and said.

" So we can just kill all non sorcerers?" Suguru asked, as his expression twisted cruelly.

" That's a decent plan, or rather the easiest way to achieve that goal. If we continue thinning out the population of non sorcerers, it's possible that they'll awaken Jujutsu as a survival mechanism." She thought and said.

" By using fear as a catalyst, they'll evolve, just like birds.....but even I'm not that crazy." Yuki chuckled and sat on her bike as she put of the helmet.

" Oi Suguru, do you happen to hate non sorcerers?" Seeing the cruel look in his eyes, Yuki asked with a frown.

"No no, what are you talking about senpai. I don't hate them... it's just that, I used to think that sorcerers existed to protect non sorcerers, but lately their worth is kinda lagging to me." Suguru gave a sad smile.

" I don't know, lately my own vision of my path as sorcerer is blurry ." He sighed as he whipped his hair backwards.

" In the quest to becoming a powerhouse, you'll need to discover, understand and focus on your own path. Good luck to that..." She patted his shoulder and drove off.

...

" I was told I could find you here." In the garden of solitude, Madara was sitting with a peaceful expression, as he watched the waterfall in solitude, when he heard a familiar voice.

" Satoru, how have you been?" Madara smiled as he nodded towards his friend. " So what do you plan on doing now Madara? After all this?" Satoru asked as he turned his gaze to the waterfall.

" Well, after I complete Jujutsu High, I plan on traveling the world. My abilities have reached a bottleneck. I might get a stroke of inspiration out there, and grow even stronger you know, after all there's so much potential I have to uncover." Madara smiled as he also rested his gaze on the waterfall.

" So you plan on becoming even stronger huh. I better up my game, I can't be left behind. " Satoru laughed as he adjusted his glasses. " You know, Space and Time are two sides of the same coin right?" Satoru added.

" Yeah they are. Space is kinda like the canvas where time operates. They are immensely linked and can't operate without the other. Also I think that in combat, Space should have an upper hand, due to void or void energy manipulation." Madara smiled and said as Satoru smirked.

" I'm actually working on manipulating the Void with my infinity technique. Should take me a while, but I can definitely pull it off with my six eyes." He smirked and said.

"However I think in a battle, Time should have the upper hand because of clairvoyance and the ability to predict attacks in advance." Satoru argued.

" We can agree to disagree." Madara smiled and said.

" So what do you plan on doing after you graduate Satoru? " Madara asked, as he tossed a stone into the lake, causing it to ripple.

" I plan on becoming a teacher here actually." He rubbed his head and smiled.

" I think you'd be a good teacher." Madara said as both of them laughed.

...

Two weeks later....

" You called for me old man." Satoru walked into Yaga's office as he sat on the couch exhaustingly.

" Geto Suguru is now a suspect of a crime, he massacred an entire village and now he's on the run." Yaga summarized everything and rubbed his forehead in melancholy.

" No way he fucking did!! Tell me you're lying old man!" Satoru roared out as he punched the wall in front of him in anger and exasperation.

.....

At the school's lounge, Ieiri was standing alone as she watched the beautiful horizon. She then took out a cigarette from a packet and placed one in her mouth.

" Need a cigarette?" Suddenly she heard a voice which made her turn around abruptly.

" If it isn't the criminal. You need something?" She shook her head and chuckled.

" I just want to be sure, but are those allegations false?" She asked as she took the lighter from him to light her cigarette.

" Unfortunately not." He chuckled. " So why?" Ieiri asked, as she puffed out smoke. " I'll create a world where only Jujutsu Sorcerers exist." He smiled and waved his hand. " That's the funniest thing I've ever heard. " She chuckled and took her phone before dialing a number and calling.

" Oi Satoru, Suguru is here with me right now, at the lounge." She spoke and ended the call after which she turned around to see that he was gone.

" I thought she would understand me." Suguru walked into a train station as thoughts flashed across his mind.

Just as he was about to exit, a figure appeared in his vision which caused him to sigh.

" Suguru, explain yourself." Satoru spoke with utmost seriousness, as he glared at his best friend.

" Didn't Ieiri tell you? There's not much else to it." He chuckled. " So you'll go around killing all non sorcerers? Even your own parents?" Satoru roared as his cursed energy flared.

" I can't go around making exceptions for my parents right. Besides they deserve to die even the most." He smiled.

" That's isn't what I'm asking. Weren't you against the whole killing non sorcerers thing." Satoru said in anger.

" But there is a significance to all this trouble. After all, after I rid the world of non sorcerers, there would be no cursed spirits being born anymore, creating the perfect utopia." He gave a small smile and widened his arms.

" What are you even talking about ?" Satoru facepalmed.

" It might be a little tough, but I would be able to get it done. But I would be a piece of cake for you right. It can even be said that with your limitless you're omnipotent and with the six eyes, you're omnipresent. It should be a small job for you handle this." Suguru simply smiled and continued speaking.

" Tell me something, are you Gojo Satoru because you're the strongest, or you're the strongest because you're Gojo Satoru." He sighed and turned around leaving these heavy words for his once best friend, shattering all the ties they had together, as friends.

" If I had your power, even the most foolish way would become plausible." Suguru uttered to himself as he walked away.

" Now I'm just going to do what I want." Satoru could hear his words, as he gritted his teeth and stretched forth his palm, wanting to unleash an attack, on his once best friend and partner. " Sigh. Kill me if you want." Suguru let out a sigh as he walked on and completely disappeared into the crowd, leaving his friend in utter confusion, shock and anger.
