Chapter 3: World Developer System

Although it took a while, Darius got new interesting pieces of information regarding his power. He decided to call it World Developer System just to make things easier… Regardless, he found a weird centipede in the grove that had two heads, and then he was sent to that world of his. He made the speed of the world reach the max, and while the centipede ate a bunch of leaves and plants, it died after seventeen minutes or one week in that world of Darius. At the same time, he got one point of aether while the creature was there and one after it died.

"Interesting…" Darius thought. "Killing things will be easier if I can make them head there; they won't last for more than a week without food and water, after all. I will also get aether, so I couldn't be asking for more.

Darius had a hard time chasing a horned squirrel that he found in the grove as well. The little beast also bit his finger, making Darius bleed… it was a dangerous creature, so Darius didn't feel anything seeing the animal starving to death while he watched the days pass by in that world in super fast forward.

"Two aether points during and two after death…" Darius thought. "I will keep using it to expand the Island until I can make those orcs pass the portal. The question is, can I do that in time?"

Maybe Darius should use the massive fast-forward speed to train in that dimension. He found some fruits in that grove that could keep him fed for a few weeks, but would that be enough? Those people in the wall probably trained for weeks, a few weeks or regular training wouldn't be enough for him to reach their level… he had to play it smart by using his World Developer System.

In the end, Darius decided to accept some risks… no pain, no gain. As long as he doesn't die instantly, he would be fine. Besides, his mission was not to let the city fall; as long as he could buy time, everything was acceptable… even risking his life a bit.

Darius headed to his world and then stayed there while the flow of time was one thousand times faster than in the other world… the downside of that was the fact that he had to endure those twenty-four hours fully. Still, thanks to that, once the job was done, the Island had become almost three times bigger than it was originally… it should be bigger enough to let the orcs pass there.

"Before that… I can't transform aether in experience, but when the monsters die, they give aether to this world… can I split that and make half of it come to me to strengthen my body?" Darius thought.

No one could answer that, so Darius just tried to add that rule to his domain, and thanks to that, another thing appeared above the Island. It was an experience/Aether bar.

Experience: 50%-----/—-- 50%: Aether

"... I guess it is possible," Darius thought after blinking several times. "Now, for the grand finale…."

Darius added another trick to the Island before he left. After thinking for a day and he expanded the domain, he realized that making monsters starve to death would take too long. Even if they only last for three days there at the max speed, it will be equal to almost five minutes in the real world. It wasn't the best of ideas to kill one every five minutes. Darius also didn't know if he could put more than one there, after all. So, it was better to clean it up as soon as possible.

Once Darius returned to the other world, barely two minutes had passed since he left. Still, he felt like he needed to add a lake or river on his Island or something since he really wanted to take a bath… that was a problem for later, though.

Darius approached the battlefield that was three kilometers ahead. Then he gulped… the Fireballs weren't being fired at them, but seeing them raining down was quite… the experience. They had the same power as cannonballs, after all. Despite that, the orcs had shields and were blocking them like champs. They also had some fearsome long spears that they could hold with a single hand…

"Their shields are well-made… they stole it, or they made it?" Darius wondered. "Either way, they aren't stupid."

It didn't take long for Darius to be noticed by some of the orcs. At such a distance, he really couldn't help but frown since they looked like muscular pigs that had their bodies covered in yellow fur. They were all two and a half meters tall, so they were pretty strong. Fortunately, they couldn't use long-range attacks.

When the beasts saw Darius, they frowned since he didn't look dangerous at all… he also was wearing weird clothes, and he didn't have weapons. The humans of the city didn't try to use any tricks like that, so they wondered what was going on. Still, five of them soon began to run toward Darius, and despite their sizes… they could easily run at sixty kilometers per hour.

"Run, Darius! Run!" Darius said to himself. "And that is how I became the fastest man alive…"

Although he was joking around, Darius was still showing quite a bit of fear on his face. Despite that, he kept his eyes on the enemy while looking over his shoulder. The five orcs were getting closer to Darius. Still, the others weren't looking at him anymore… since they couldn't imagine that puny human defeating them.

Three of the orcs suddenly jumped to stab Darius, but then he opened the portal in front of him. In the next moment, he jumped with all his might and then barely escaped a hole that he had made on the Island… it was thirty meters deep and large enough to fit the orcs, and that was the killing trap that he had made for them.

The three orcs actually passed the portal and fell into the hole. The first broke its neck once it hit bottom, and the others suffered a similar fate… but they were impelled by their own spears when they fell.

"It actually worked…" Darius furrowed his eyebrows while looking at the result of his actions. "It is convenient that I could erase the ground like this with my thoughts alone and that it would be this stable, but… wait? No notifications?"

Darius - Level: 04 (150/400)

HP: 70/70

MP: 70/70

STA: 70/70

Strength: 08

Magic: 08

Quickness: 08

Endurance: 07

Spirit: 07

Adaptability: 07

"I didn't get any notifications, and yet… ah, I didn't add that to the system," Darius thought and then facepalmed. "I skipped several things…"

Darius didn't add a function where some points would be saved for him to use it with, so his status increased naturally. It seemed that he could get five per level up, and at the same time, his Endurance would increase his HP by ten points, Spirit would increase his MP, and Adaptability would increase his stamina by the same amount.

It was probably unnecessary since Darius could tell that it was the case. Still, he also made his system add functions for his parameters. Just like he had expected, strength would make him cause more damage and carry heavier things. Magic would increase his magic power and ability to learn magic, and Quickness would increase his movement and reaction speed. Aside from the previous effects, Endurance would decrease the power of physical attacks, Spirit would do the same against magic, and Adaptability would make him endure some situations with a bit more ease.

In any case, Darius decided to get rid of the bodies just by erasing them and keeping the weapons, but that didn't work…
