Chapter 27: Ranking system

Kicks, punches, body slams… the red giant used all that to get Terry, but it failed every single time. Terry was slower. That was why he kept a distance to react to the enemy's attacks. The beast was faster, but it wasn't skilled in comparison to Terry, so it couldn't stop him in the middle of the attack.

Every time the beast missed an attack, Terry would approach and then hit the same spot on the face with Sonic Punch and Triple Attack. Eventually, the creature tried to protect the wound with its hands, but Terry's punches still passed through their defense and cracked the skull of the creature until it sustained enough brain damage to make it impossible to move. After that, Terry finished the creature with some arrows in the head.

Truth be told, Terry could have finished things earlier if he had attacked the back of the enemy's head instead of the face. However, he wanted more battle experience.

Icicle Longbow - Lv 15 (55/160) (Uncommon)

Attack Power: 95

Movement Speed Debuff: 15%

Charges: 40/40

Durability: 22/22

(Critical Charge: when dealing critical damage on the target, you recover one charge automatically.)

(Cold of War: When hitting the same opponent twice with the arrows of this bow, you put them under the 'frostbite' status effect and make them lose five points of health per second for ten seconds.)

(Sniper: doubles the range of the arrows fired by this bow.)

"Hmm… this effect isn't so bad, but I was waiting for a skill," Terry frowned. "Oh, well… Time to check their warehouses."

Speaking of warehouses, it was about time for Terry to open the shop of his guild as well. Since the giants couldn't be used in any way, then, he would have to sell the loot after making them level up a bit. Selling the weapons that his members were using was too dangerous. Terry still wanted to keep his trait hidden for a while longer…

In any case, Terry found some more low-level skill books and a lot of trash. About things that he could actually sell were some low-level weapons and wands that he would have to level up first… Still, considering that even at level five, the items were better than his bow when it was a level one, he should make at least 10k from each.

Terry worked on that for the rest of the day instead of looking for more camps of giants. It would be weird if he suddenly appeared with a lot of loot. He had to build his stock slowly…

When Terry left the dungeon, it was mid-afternoon, and he found Rebecca organizing some papers with the people she had hired. She was trying to do her best while she was also being pestered by her siblings.

"Ah! It is the old man with the angry face!" Chris said.

"Whatchu say?" Terry asked. "It is time for you to be punished, you snotty little brat."

Terry grabbed the kid by his arms and threw him upward. Chris flew for over ten meters before he began to fall. Terry held back quite a bit, so he was surprised when he got that high… in any case, Terry easily grabbed him and adjusted his arm movements so as not to hurt him.

"This should teach you. I am just 18," Terry said.

"Do it again!" Chris said.

"No way. Are you a maso, kid?" Terry asked. "This was punishment."

"... Me too," Ruth asked while pulling Terry's shirt.

"What the… how did you raise those kids?" Terry asked while frowning. "Are you raising kids of fearsome warriors?"

"You are unbelievable…" Rebecca said and then sighed. "To be honest, you look ten years older when you are deep in thought, and you are like that most of the time."

It was Terry's turn to sigh… he couldn't understand people anymore. Isn't everyone fearful of heights until they get superpowers? He sure was like that… in any case, he threw Ruth upward as well and called it a day. Chris bothered him for a while, and Terry eventually gave up.

"It was a good time for you to start selling some items. It seems that some people are planning to change guilds to have access to the weapons that you make," Rebecca said while Terry was throwing the kids to the sky.

"I suspected that something like that would happen if they aren't hiding that they belonged to other guilds, then it will be hard to tell if they are planning to cause trouble," Terry said. "Do they know that all the items must return to the weaponry after being used?"

"I informed them of that, but a lot of people are still registering. The test for the recruits is completely full for three weeks," Rebecca replied.

Twenty people were being tested every day, so that means that at least 420 more people wanted to join the guild. That would increase the income a lot more, but Terry still couldn't help but worry… a problem was bound to happen.

"Can't we just lend the weapons to those who have weak traits and are inexperienced?" Rebecca asked.

"That might also cause problems… it isn't good to give special treatment to some and leave others behind," Terry replied. "Although I said that, I suppose I will have to create a ranking system in the guild. The older members and those that contribute the most to the guild will increase in rank and then will be able to use better weapons."

"I don't think that we need better weapons to deal with the giants. Everyone barely returns wounded from the hunts," Rebecca said.

"For now, yes, but soon we will have the need for better weapons," Terry explained. "Also, only those with high rank will come with me to other dungeons."

"I see what you are thinking…" Rebecca nodded.
