Chapter 3: Ryuda's Pet
Seeing that the person inside the carriage wanted to avoid causing trouble, Ryuda smiled before introducing himself.
"Greetings, Heavenly Beast Princess. My name is Ryuda Chaos but you can just call me Ryuda. Hm, I'm sorry I've accidentally killed your horses so just tell me the location, and I'll send both of you there."
Hearing Ryuda's nonchalant words, the person inside the carriage was taken aback.
The person hadn't revealed themselves yet the young man in front of her had already figured out her identity.
This caused Uncle Ballus to increase his vigilance as the person inside the carriage contemplated her next action.
Understanding that the two in front of him were carefully planning their next move as if they'd met a formidable enemy, Ryuda smiled before putting his fingers in his mouth and whistled a tune-like ringtone.
As for the duo, thinking that it was some kind of battle cry, Uncle Ballus immediately drew his sword and got into a battle stance.
His guard was also raised to the max since he didn't know what the person in front of him was capable of.
The person inside the carriage had similar thoughts to her martial uncle but refrained from moving since she noticed the people's expressions.
Within a split second of the ringtone whistle ending, a black shadow a quarter sized of the town appeared in the clear sky before landing in between the Heavenly Beast Ridge duo and Ryuda, creating a dust cloud big enough that blocked the view of the Heavenly Beast Ridge duo.
"Be on guard, Princess!" Uncle Ballus shouted.
Despite him releasing his Spiritual Sense, he still couldn't see through the dust cloud before him.
When the dust finally settled, Uncle Ballus and the Heavenly Beast Princess had their jaws unhinged when they finally realized what the black shadow in front of them was.
It was a purple dragon! A massive one at that!
"Dra…drag..dragon?! What's a dragon the size of a village doing here?!" The Heavenly Beast Princess covered her mouth in shock as fear and dread overwhelmed her entire being.
"A purple dragon this big must have already alerted the nearby sects and villages, no? This town is done for."
Despite the shock of the Heavenly Beast Ridge duo, Ryuda was rather happy by the purple dragon's appearance.
Placing his hands on the dragon's head, Ryuda started scratching the chin of the dragon while saying "Who's a good boy? David's a good boy. Oh yes you are, yes you are…" for an hour straight.
When the Heavenly Beast Ridge duo finally snapped out of their shock, they were slack jawed again as they witnessed the young man in front of them give the purple dragon a belly rub.
To top it off, the dragon was actually enjoying the young man's belly rub!
"Uhm…what is going on here?" Knowing that the young man was too busy with the purple dragon, the person in the carriage finally stepped out and asked the townsmen.
Much to her surprise though, the young and old only gave her a simple glance before smiling towards the young man and purple dragon again as if a 1st tier sect's princess was nothing in their eyes.
Although her beauty was not comparable to the princess of Celestial Temple, her beauty was still able to topple modern countries and cause internal collapse of 2nd tier sects.
The townsfolk' lack of interest towards her made her incredibly confused.
But not long after that, a middle aged woman kindly replied. "This young miss must be new here, right? It's okay. All newcomers had the same reaction as you when they first met our town's only S ranker."
"S ranker? Wait, that young man over there is an S rank?!" The Heavenly Beast Princess was baffled when she heard the middle aged woman's words.
The young man belly rubbing the purple dragon was merely an S rank yet the dragon was completely obedient to him. This…made no sense at all!
"Then what's the dragon's relationship to him??"
"David's relationship with Ryuda? That's obvious isn't it? David is Ryuda's pet dragon." The middle aged woman's nonchalant words had invertedly frightened both Uncle Ballus and the Heavenly Beast Princess.
In all their lives of walking the martial path, never have they heard of an SSS ranker having a pet dragon the size of a village, much less a normal S rank!
Anybody being able to own a dragon this big must have been a big shot in their prime, right?
The Heavenly Beast Ridge duo thought it was impossible for an S ranker to own a dragon since just capturing one required the help of tens of SS rankers and SSS rankers working together.
But now that the truth was right before them, their brains could help but short circuited.
"David's a juvenile Demon Dragon by the way! And his true dragon bloodline is incredibly thick and pure so him becoming a true demon dragon in the future is merely a waiting game!" As if the shock of a normal S ranker owning a dragon wasn't shocking enough, Ryuda added another 2 facts about his pet dragon to the Heavenly Beast Ridge duo casually.
When they heard the extra information, both Uncle Ballus and the Heavenly Beast Princess's blood stopped flowing due to the immense fear and dread they suddenly felt.
