Chapter 15: Day off
"I'm home"
"Welcome home" The voice of Toki greets me as cheerfully as ever, the noise of Momonosuke playing with his sister reaches my ears. The blurry figure of Toki is on her knees sewing what I guess are the clothes of her kids.
That is something that I can't understand, Oden is the Daimyō of Kuri, but they can't even afford new clothes, all of their clothes are old and worn out.
They don't have almost any money to eat because they give it to the people, people that hate them. I saw Oden dancing in the streets, I could feel his embarrassment but also his determination and the people that looked at him just exuded hate and anger at him.
Why would they help people that hate them at the cost of their own well being? I don't understand it.
I make my way past the, I don't have the energy to speak to them now, I just want to get to my room to rest a little. My hand stretches for the handle of the sliding door.
"Yasu-kun" My hand stops halfway to reaching the door, I was almost there, just one second more and I would be free.
"Yes?"
"Why don't you take the kids to town and have some fun?"
No, I just want to go to my room and rest before continuing to train, I don't have time to go to town with the kids, is not being disturbed too much to ask? "Toki-sama, right now I have to focus in-"
"Yasu" She interrupts me in the middle of my excuse, her tone is one much more serious, as a mother about to scold her child, she's not using honorifics to refer to me this time. "It will help you relax, these last days you have been training nonstop, also it will be fun" she finishes her phrase with a smile. I look in her direction not really in the mood to neither argue or go with the kids.
"Yahu-un!" Something hugs my leg, looking down I feel little Hiyori smiling at me, she's still a toddler but she's learning very quickly how to speak and walk.
After looking for a few seconds at Hyori hugging my leg I decide to just give up, I don't want to do it but I can't make Hyori sad and Toki upset because of my selfishness 'Going to town once in a while wouldn't hurt'
"Sigh Ok, let's go to town"
""Yeahh!"" Both Momo and Hiyori cheer loudly at hearing this, both very excited.
'This is going to be a long day'

"Look Yasu!, they got Takoyaki!, can we get some, please?"
"We don't have any money, Momo"
Momonosuke right now was running across the streets of Bakura Town looking at all the stalls he could find with childlike joy and excitement, I'm trying to keep track of him as best as I can with my senses.
"Giggle"
"Are you having a good time, Hiyori?"
"Yeh" Hiyori is on top of my shoulders, I may not be very tall right now, but she is having fun still, grabbing my hair as if they were reins and laughing all the time.
"Hey! There are a lot of people there!" Momonosuke points in one direction and starts running, I almost can't keep track of him with my Haki.
"Tch, Wait Momo!" The last thing I want right now is to lose him and have to explain everything to Toki, god knows what she would do to me, I can feel sweat running down my back just thinking of it.
"Hihihihihi!"
I run behind Momonosuke to not lose him, Hiyori starts laughing more and more while shaking the reins of my hair as if she was making me run. How can an almost four year old run so fast? I could catch him making a little dash but then there would be a baby flying through the air and that is something I would also try to avoid.
Finally reaching him, Momo is jumping trying to see what is happening "Don't run away like that!"
Completely ignoring what I just said to him, he turns around and extends both arms to me. "Lift me!, I want to see what is going on!" god, how I wish I was in my room right now, getting some rest after training.
Sigh "Ok, but don't move too much" I grab Momo with both hands and lift him up placing him on my right shoulder next to his sister.
"Make some space Hyori!" Hey! Those aren't sits, they are my shoulders!
"Look Yasu, there is a man on a stage at the center!" I try to expand my Haki to feel what is going on, there is a stage ten meters ahead. Tch! It takes me some effort but after some seconds I manage to feel what's ahead, I don't get it, some weeks ago ten meters was nothing, I could do that without breaking a sweat, but now I have to focus to get a vague image of what's happening.
"Ladies and gentlemen! I come all the way from the capital to introduce you to a living legend!" A scrawny man is on stage like some kind of showman, but he's certainly good, he has the attention of the public with this supposed legend, hell, I'm also intrigued.
"He's a samurai who has fought countless battles! annihilated dozens of bandit groups!. Is said that with only his presence alone he could make a hundred men kneel to him!
Huh? He can make people kneel to him with his presence? Could he have Conqueror's Haki?
"I present to you!..... The legend! Takeo the almighty!!!!"
