Chapter 10: Chapter 10 - Silver Family (P-2)
Returning back inside his work station Jackson saw the Sisters poking and inspecting his tools.
"Lulu look at this" Lili pointed at the shotgun barrel that Jackson made a while ago. "What is this for? spirit weapon? staff?"
"Stop that. Lili put it down, don't break anything" Lulu lectured Lili for her behavior but Lili ignored her and began to pick other things.
On the side Ann and Anya were feeling the fur of the winged tiger. "Dear lord Sister, look at this. This is a level 4 Sky Tiger skin" Anya pulled Ann over showing her the tiger skin.
Faith only sat nearby her sister Hope, both of them looking like they were dazed staring up and not doing anything.
Jackson Standing on the entrance only silently observed the sisters while they did not notice him at all. Jackson noticed that the sisters seemed to be in pairs, Lili and Lulu then there's Ann and Anya and then Faith and Hope but looking closely he noticed that they are twins.
Shocked that the sisters are 3 pairs of twins. Jackson couldn't help but want to know if they are sisters or just relatives. Walking in Jackson interrupted the girls and placed the fruits down a nearby table.
"Here, you guys eat something" Jackson pointed at the fruits he just brought in. "Sorry I did not introduce myself earlier, let's start over. My name is Jackson Goldsmith and this is my home."
Jackson finally introduces himself to the girls. Doing it before would be rude because their father is not in great condition and requires attention.
Hearing his name, the girls had never heard of the Goldsmith family anywhere in the Northstar region before. Maybe it was a hidden family. Faith stood up and greeted Jackson again, as the eldest sister she had to lead the others.
"Young master, you said this is your home?" Ann asked Jackson. "Yes but it's in the middle of construction, '' Jackson replied.
"Construction? you are building your house here in the middle of the forest?" Anya was confused as to why Jackson was building his house here. Was he not afraid of being attacked?.
"Yes, I just got into this forest about a week ago." Jackson faced Anya and answered her question.
"Are you not afraid of beast tide?" Lili threw in her question.
"Beast Tide?" Jackson asked back wanting to know what beast tide meant.
"You don't know what is a beast tide?" Lili was confused by Jackson's words. Was he living under a rock his whole life? "Well it's when the Beast attacks in hordes during the red moon" Lili explained.
"Young Master beast Tide Happens because the beast can breed very fast and during the red moon they become aggressive and are full of bloodlust which turns into waves and waves of monsters attacking towns and villages" Faith Added into her sister's explanation.
"I see, when is the next red moon?" Jackson wanted to know this in order to prepare for the fight. He was not afraid of getting attacked by hordes of beasts when Bunker was here with him. In the worst case he would find some cave and use Bunker to block the entrance.
"Do not worry Young master, the previous red mood happened 2 weeks ago and the next one should be in 2 months for now" Faith answered.
2 months should be enough for Jackson. Tool Maker should be done with the base before the Beast tide hits. Throwing the beast tide out of his mind Jackson asked the girls another question.
"Can you guys tell me about this place?" said Jackson. He needed to know where he was for the future if he ever wanted to travel.
"We also don't know Young master," Faith Said helplessly. "We got here via random teleportation scroll in order to escape our enemy pursuit"
"Okay No problem, Why don't you guys tell me about where you came from." Jackson changed the subject, sooner or later he would find out where he was but right not it was not that important.
"Yes young master, we are from Northstar region. My father was the city lord of Silverdale town but now we longer have a home because our family was falsely accused of a treasure that my father is hiding." Faith was saddened by what happened to her family.
Feeling the gloomy atmosphere Jackson again changed the subject. "Seeing you guys have swords around your waist, are you guys soldiers or from a military family?"
Confused by his question Lulu said. "No, everyone carries around weapons. When there is a beast close by the town everyone joins in to fight it off."
Hearing Lulu Jackson was shocked that the native here seem to be used to battle. She said everyone carries weapons to fight off the beast. Does that include children and elderly too?
"Just how strong are guys to fight a beast like the winged tiger" Jackson remembered that it took Henry and Bunker to work together to take down that Winged Tiger. Of course they had to hold back because of Tool Maker's request of not harming its fur.
Even so, Both Henry and Bunker were created for combat and are machines. Which makes them far superior to human beings.
"We might not be able to beat a Sky Tiger because that beast is at the fourth level" Faith said. "However us sisters are at third level." Proudly displays his prowess to Jackson.
But this just confuses Jackson. Levels? What does that mean? "At the third level?" Jackson asked.
"We know we are nothing to you, Young master but being at the third level at our age is considered to be good within the Northstar region," Anya said to Jackson.
"But what do you do by levels? Is that your combat level? How is it ranked?" Jackson asked them about the level system they are talking about.
The girls stopped talking and looked at Jackson. Hearing his question they were shocked by this man not knowing about cultivation levels.
"Young master, do you not cultivate?" Faith asked.
"Cultivate? Farming?"
Looking at Jackson's confused expression the girls did not know what was going on. There is no way that Jackson does not cultivate any spiritual energy. No one in this world can live without spirit energy.
"Ahm.. Young master we cultivate spirit energy to fight off the beast without it we would not be able to harm them at all" Hope stepped in to break off the awkward situation and began to explain to Jackson what cultivation is.
"Everything in this world has spirit energy. By cultivating it one could grow to godhood and live for millions of years. With spirit energy one can move heaven, split the earth and create the seas" Hope slowly explained.
Hearing what Cultivating is, Jackson was stunned that people in this world can reach godhood or live like an immortal but then again this explains his changes when Cuprite joined the team.
"I see, what about this Level system you guys are talking about?" Jackson now understands what they meant by cultivate but still confused about the levels they mention to him.
"Young master, In Cultivation each level represents doubling in power. It is simple, everyone's physique is different when they are born. If spirit energy is added to the body it can double the strength of that person" Hope said to Jackson.
"Levels are a way to see how strong a person is. Let's take Lili for example, before cultivation Lili can punch out 1 bull power. At level 1 she can now punch out 2 bull power then at level 2 she can punch out 4 bull power. Each level she gains she would double her current power." Hope said slowly so that Jackson could understand the words.
"But that is not all that changes when a person jumps to the next level. Their lifespan grows double and their physique grows stronger too, able to take stronger hits. At level 4 a normal sword would not even cut" Faith added.
Hearing this Jackson began to feel excited. This was something new to him, and with this spirit energy he might be able to collect them and turn them into a new power source. Jackson's eyes burned with determination to do some experiment on this new topic. He wanted to kick everyone out of the workstation and begin his work, but forced himself to calm down.
To be more efficient Jackson needed a Lab and that would take some time. He could only wait till then for now he should gather more intel about how this world works. So Jackson continued to talk with the sisters about it.
