Chapter 12: Revelation.
-A week later-
*Usagiyama's Residence*
"La la la la~"
A woman of short stature wearing an apron could be seen cutting vegetables in a spacious, modern kitchen as she hummed a lullaby.
Her cat ears would occasionally move sideways as if they had a life of their own, aware of even the lowest sound around them.
"Mom, I'm back!"
Hearing the voice of her daughter, the busty woman stopped what she was doing and rushed towards the mansion's entrance.
"Rumiii~"
As soon as the bunny arrived, a kitty rocket was launched in her direction. But, even if she wanted to evade the imminent encounter, an S-Rank Hunter was not something she could run away from.
*BAM!*
Landing butt-first on the floor, the girl regretted having called her mother as soon as she entered the house.
"I missed you so much~ Are you hungry?!"
*Sigh*
A sigh escaped from her mouth as that was the only thing she could muster to do at the moment.
" Yes, Mom."
"Hehe~ I will get right on that!"
Shaking her head in defeat, Rumi stood up and headed toward the stairs that would lead her to her room. After having to spend a week clearing dungeons and occasional gate breaks, she would allow herself to have a well-deserved warm bath.
Right before going upstairs though, a notification sound from her phone halted her steps.
Adam- "Yo, I'll be going over tonight, tell mom."
"Eh!? I thought we would be meeting tomorrow..."
Right before she could formulate any assumptions a second notification caught her attention.
Adam- " I will stay the night, so we are leaving for a dungeon first thing in the morning."
'He will stay the night...'
" Honey? Are you ok?"
Since her daughter had abruptly stopped walking upstairs, Hana wondered if everything was alright.
"It's Adam. He's coming over for dinner and will stay the night."
After hearing Rumi's words, Hana's smile widened in a sign of pure happiness.
" Ara~ It has been so long since he came over for dinner. Your father will come rushing once he knows."
'Yeah, he would surely drop his work on someone else and come rushing.'
Rumi thought briefly before turning around.
" You call him, Mom. I will be showering in the meantime."
" Ok~"
With that, Hana returned to the kitchen, but instead of continuing with her cooking, she picked up her phone from her apron's pocket before dialing her husband's number.

*Zenith Guild*
Sitting behind a wooden desk in a very spacious office with some family pictures here and there, a robust man that was the depiction of a warrior sat with a frown.
His white long hair rested on his back in a ponytail, while his long silver horns gave him a demonic appearance.
This man was Kenji Usagiyama, Zenith Guild's guild master.
A man many feared and respected all the same.
An SSS-Rank hunter and one of the most veterans in the industry.
He was an entity on par with Irene Balserion, a monster that distinguished himself for his fierceness in battle and his philosophy of using one's body to the extreme.
This same man was currently looking down on a pile of documents as if they were his greatest nemesis.
*Ring, Ring~*
Annoyed by the sudden distraction, Kenji picked up the phone angrily, but once he noticed who the person that was calling him was, his aura morphed completely in an instant.
Those who were not close to the man would doubt their eyes if they got to see the smile he was currently sporting.
" Hey, love."
"Darling~! Are you done for the day?"
The sweet voice of his wife brought a silly smile to the bull-man's face.
" Not yet love, I have a few things to look after before I can leave."
"Oh~ That's a shame."
Hearing this, Kenji frowned in curiosity.
"Mh? Why is that?"
" Well, Adam is coming over for din-"
Before she could finish speaking, the man stood up from his sit furiously, which resulted in his desk flipping over.
"I'm on my way!"
Hanging up his phone, the man did not wait any further and picked up his car keys before storming out of his office.
Seconds later, he ran toward the office adjacent to his and kicked the door down.
"Bang! I have to leave early today, ask someone to finish my work! Bye!"
A second later, he was nowhere to be seen.
Staring blankly at the spot where his door should've been, Bang, Kenji's friend, and Zenith's current vice guild master had a vein almost popped from his forehead.
" You could've knocked before coming in you damn brat!"

After a week of grinding E and D-rank dungeons like a maniac, Adam reached level 38.
He came to realize that the higher his level reached the longer it would take him to level up unless he dived into higher-ranked dungeons.
But patience was a weapon, one that he managed to wield for the sake of building up his foundations.
At this point, his shadow legion had grown nicely, reaching more than half his current limit.
Apart from his initial shadows, he now had a multitude of other races of monsters conforming his army.
As he had suspected, his legion got stronger alongside him, so whenever he summoned a new shadow this one would accommodate its power to match his own, unless the monster in question was stronger than him in the first place.
An example of this was Ragnar, which at the moment of being defeated was three Ranks above Adam.
Currently, he calculated his level to match that of a C-Rank hunter, like Bakugo, who was considered as one unofficially. Though, if he was totally honest, he felt like he wouldn't lose to the blondie even if he wanted to.
Based on these assumptions, he estimated his levels to match the known Ranks as followed:
Lv 1-10 -> F-Rank
Lv 11-20-> E-Rank
Lv 21-30-> D-Rank
Lv 31-40-> C-Rank
Starting from B-Rank he couldn't make any theory until he reached there, but as it is now, he was sure to be on C-Rank. After all, he could now spar against Ragnar with no difficulty.
Adam stood in front of his parent's home as he ranted mentally about all of these discoveries. Tomorrow, he would convince Rumi to enter a C-Rank dungeon, so he was feeling a bit expectant.
He was yet to submit his dungeon history to the Hunter Association, which after some testing from the latter would allow him to raise in Rank, though he wasn't sure if he would be given the C-Rank provided that he had just started his hunting journey.
Regarding the Ogre incident, he still wasn't sure who was targeting him.
Ever since that day, no other incident like that occurred.
' They may strike again so I should be careful.'
Before he could speculate any further, the front door opened fiercely followed by a rocketing Hana.
"Adaaaaaam~!"
Unable to react in time, Adam fell as Hana hugged him tightly, his face plastered on her enormous breasts.
"My boy's gotten so handsome since the last time I saw him!!"
Adam laughed lightly as he returned his mother's hug.
" I was here for dinner last month, Mom."
" And that's such a long time! Your mother missed you!"
Defeated, Adam patted Hana's back as she kept pressing him against her chest.
Eventually, the two entered the house.
Another rocket came rushing to Adam as he did so, though this time, he was prepared for it and held his ground against it.
"Adam!"
Rumi ruffled her face on Adam's neck as she whispered how much she missed him.
"There, there."
He patted her back like he did to Hana as he thought: ' This family is so affectionate it almost hurts...Literally.'
On the other side of the living room, a giant of a man walked toward Adam as soon as Rumi broke their hug.
"Son! It's been a while."
To his demise, Adam was enclosed in another hug, just that this time he feared for his life.
"Pops, we saw each other last mon-, you know what? yeah, it's been a while."
Like that, the family moved toward the dining room, where a feast was already awaiting them.
" Mom, you went overboard..."
Hana immediately crossed her arms below her breasts, which giggled against the laws of physics.
"Nonsense, this is only acceptable when my handsome son is coming over for dinner!"
"Hehe~ I will gladly accept it then."
The family sat down at the table with both parents at one side while Rumi sat next to Adam opposite to them. They ate a talked about any topic they could think of before Adam cleared his throat, ready to break the news of his awakening.
"Uhm... Mom, Pops. I have something to tell you."
Under the table, Rumi held Adam's left hand in hers, providing much-needed moral support.
"What is it, sweety?"
Hana asked with a worried expression while Kenji simply stared at Adam curiously.
" I know this is sudden but..."
Not finding the right words to express what he wanted to convey Adam sighed lightly before deciding to approach this revelation differently.
" I will just show you."
As soon as he said those words, Adam disappeared from the table along with Rumi.
Alerted, both Hana and Kenji stood up in confusion, unable to process what was going on.
" I have awakened."
Turning around after hearing their son's voice from behind them, they looked in astonishment at Adam as he held Rumi up in a princess carry with a wry smile.
Rumi simply sniffed Adam's neck, not minding how her parents would react.
"Tadah~"

Today's chapter is a bit shorter. The next one should be longer.
