Chapter 2: Chapter 2 the accident

A few weeks passed, and Sarah received an

unexpected message from Megan.

"Hey, Sarah! I was thinking about the party we had a few weeks ago, and it made me realize how much I miss hanging out with you guys. Do you want to meet up this weekend?"

Sarah was excited to hear from her friend and quickly replied.

"Sure! Let's plan something fun."

"How about shopping we can invite the others as well and we can get everything we need for uni the same time"

"That sounds great I'll see you then"

When Sarah arrived, she saw Olivia sitting on a bench with a big smile on her face. Olivia stood up and ran over to Sarah

"Hey!" Sarah greeted her friend with a hug. "It's so good to see you."

"You too!" Olivia replied. "I've missed hanging out with you guys."

As they walked around the shopping center, they talked about their lives and caught up on everything that had happened since the party.

Olivia shared how she had been struggling with some personal issues and how much she appreciated having friends like Sarah,Hannah and Megan to lean on.

Sarah listened intently and offered words of encouragement and support. She knew that friendship was all about being there for each other through thick and thin.

"By the way, I'm going to the beach next week if anyone wants to come," said Hannah.

"Again, you basically live on the beach, Hannah." joked Sarah.

"What, I like the beach. It's fun and there are some caves and I intend to go and explore them," said Hannah.

"Isn't that dangerous?" asked Olivia.

"Not If you're careful when you do it, loads of people do it, I'll be fine," said Hannah, eager to get the others to join her.

"I'm not sure about it. I'll come down to the beach with you, but I won't go and explore the caves. It doesn't feel safe. You don't know what could happen. It could fall apart, and you could fall into some kind of underground cavern and get stuck, or the whole cave could collapse on you," said Olivia.

"You are so paranoid, Olivia, nothing is going to happen. Hundreds, if not thousands, of people gather there every day. It's one of the most popular beaches in the country, no one has been hurt before it'll be fine," Hannah told her.

"I'll think about it. But I'm not making any promises," Olivia told Hannah.

"Fine, you can stay on the beach. Sarah and I are going to go into the cave. So, you'll be alone with Megan unless she wants to come with us," said Hannah, turning to look at Megan.

"No, I'm with Olivia, it doesn't seem safe. I'll probably just stay on the beach," said Megan.

"Okay, you too can be boring and stay on the beach. Sarah and I are going to explore the caves and have some fun," said Hannah.

Eventually The girls all agreed to join Hannah on her beach adventure, excited for the chance to have some fun before starting university.

The following week, they set off for the beach, eager to see what adventures awaited them.

As they arrived, they removed their shoes so they could feel the warm sand between their

toes they could hear the sound of waves crashing against the shore.

"Wow, this is beautiful," said Megan as she looked around.

"I know, right? It's one of my favorite places in the world," said Hannah with a smile.

They spent the day sunbathing on the beach and chatting amongst themselfs.

As the sun began to set, they sat together on a blanket and watched the sky turn orange and pink.

"I want to explore the caves, they are amazing and everybody does it. I would like to have some fun. Who's joining me? " Hannah asked, slipping her shoes back on.

"I will, It could be a lot of fun," Sarah replied as she finished tying her laces.

"I'm not coming; it's dangerous," said Olivia.

"Olivia, you're being paranoid again," Hannah told her.

"I'm not paranoid, I'm just worried about anything that could happen. I don't want anyone getting hurt," Olivia told Hannah.

"Well, I'm still going to explore," said Hannah.

"Me too," Sarah agreed.

"You can stay here and be boring," said Hannah.

"Megan, are you coming, or are you going to be boring as well and stay here with Olivia?" asked Hannah.

"It's not boring, it makes sense, Olivia's right, it's very dangerous, and none of you have the right outfit, shoes, or equipment, which means somebody could be injured plus it's already starting to get dark which makes it even more dangerous," Megan said.

"It'll be fine i have a touch, but you two can be boring if you want to let's go Sarah" Hannah said, and she and Sarah left to go into the cave to explore.

Leaving Olivia and Megan behind alone on the beach.

As they walked along the beach, Olivia couldn't help but feel left out. She wished she could be more adventurous like Hannah and Sarah, but her fear always held her back.

" Maybe we should be there so If something goes wrong and someone gets hurt, we'll be there to help." Said Olivia.

"Yeah, you're probably right, we should, so we know where they are, so if something goes bad, then we can get help," said Megan.

Olivia and Megan entered the cave, mesmerized by its beauty. The light illuminated the rocks, making them sparkle.

"Where do you think they are?" Asked Olivia.

"I'm not sure. I hope that they haven't been hurt or had any issues."said megan.

They suddenly heard voices and followed them and found Hannah and Sarah.

"Finally, I was wondering when you two would stop being boring and join us," said Hannah.

"We came to keep an eye on you and make sure you two don't get hurt," said Megan.

"We're fine I told you nothing bad would happen," said Hannah.

Megan and Olivia exchanged worried glances but followed Hannah and Sarah deeper into the cave.

As they walked, Olivia couldn't shake off the

feeling of unease that had settled in her stomach. She had a bad feeling about this and wished they had never come into the cave.

Suddenly, the ground beneath them shook, and rocks started falling from above.

They all screamed as they tried to dodge the

falling debris.

"Quick! This way!" yelled Hannah, pointing towards a small opening in the wall.

They all rushed towards the narrow gap, trying to squeeze through it. Olivia heard rocks falling behind her and knew that time was running out.

Just as she thought she could make it, everything went black. Olivia felt herself falling and then heard Megan screaming before everything became silent.

noises and cries echo throughout the cave as One by one, people fall through the cave as the floor gave way.
