Chapter 6: AKAME GA KILL (3) - Flat

'Had I known, I would have tried to work as a scriptwriter.'

Sol thought about the story he spent all night creating, which is now completed. The only thing left was to tell this story to the chief of the Partas Clan before he forgot about it.

The young man thought so before slowly walking out of his tent and using his right hand to block the bright sun that had pierced his eyes. Although there wasn't any clock to tell him the exact time, Sol guessed that it was about seven o'clock now. This is usually the time when Sol woke up but for the rest of the village, he wasn't so sure.

When Sol look around, he found that currently there were only a few villagers left. The young man had guessed that the rest had probably gone off to hunt beasts somewhere. He thought so before heading over to Klov's tent to see if he was still there.

Upon arriving, however, he was met with a slight disappointment. As he didn't see Klov in the tent at all, he figured it might mean that the big man is now busy hunting. By the time he returned, it would be around noon. Sol walked away while still memorizing his story and words to speak before someone greeted him from behind.

"Hey, you over there."

When Sol heard a feminine voice and felt the gazes on him from behind, The young man then turned to look at the person who had called him just now. The owner of that voice appeared to be a young woman who looked about to be in her early twenties. She has long white hair worn in ponytails, eyes with a golden iris, and a mole under her left eye.

Overall, she seemed to be in good shape. A very strong person as expected from someone who is from a beast-hunting clan. She's almost perfect, although if there's one thing for Sol to criticize, it would be that her pairs looked a bit flat.

When the woman noticed that Sol was looking closely at her body, She flashed a disgusted expression in front of Sol, before in the blink of an eye, her face returned to her emotionless expression, and continued speaking to the young man.

"My name is 'Elizia.' Partas Clan's second in command."

She gave a short, curt reply before falling silent. As if waiting for Sol to answer her, to which he replied as soon as he remembered. At the same time, the young man thought to himself. 'I didn't know there was such a character in the story.'

"...My name is Sol. A pleasure to meet you, Miss Elizia."

Sol reached out to the girl named Elizia to shake hands. But the lady immediately continued her explanation while she crossed her arms, ignoring the hand that Sol had extended in any way.

"The chief will not be here during the next five days as he has to take care of the trade of Danger Beast's organs in another village. Therefore, while the chief is away, I'll be the one taking care of you. I advise you to obey every word I say. Otherwise, I'll have you released in the middle of the mountain outside... Do you understand?"

As soon as Elizia finished speaking, she stared intently at Sol. One glance and he is certain that she is not at all pleased with this job, of babysitting him. The main reason probably being him. Sol, who had received all that information at once and was asked immediately, nodded his head uncertainly while stressing at what he had just heard.

'Won't be here for five days? What a pity. I will need to find a piece of paper to jot down this story first.'

When Elizia saw his absent-minded look as if he was thinking of something else, The woman let out a small sigh and put her hand on her temple slightly. She could feel that this job was going to cause her a lot of headaches.

"Okay then, come along. We'll go get some breakfast. After that and a little bit of rest, we will leave the village to go out hunting beasts. I don't care what the chief said. If you want to stay here with us, you are gonna need to work for it. That's a northern custom for you, in case you don't know, outsider."

As soon as she finished speaking with a rather cold voice and attitude, Elizia turned and started walking without waiting for Sol's answer. When he saw this, he let out a small sigh too. He could feel that today would bring him a headache, just like the woman.

It didn't take long as the Partas Clan village was already small. They walked to the front of a tent where an old lady was standing at the table. On that table was a pot of soup inside, and next to it was a small wooden bowl lined up next to each other. With the line-up of twenty people before him, He noted that the number decreased by about half from what he saw yesterday.

At first, Sol was going to ask Elizia why half of the people were missing. However, as soon as he called her and saw her annoyed expression, He swallowed the question back into his throat and guessed that the missing half was probably split into two groups. One is a group of people traveling to trade outside the village along with the chief, and the other is a group of people hunting the Danger Beasts.

He and Elizia followed in line to receive food. After waiting just less than a minute, The line quickly shortened until finally, Elizia was the head of the line. The young man lifted his head to look ahead and saw the old lady quickly scooping up the soup into a small wooden bowl, and Elizia walked out of the line without speaking.

When it was his turn, the old lady quickly scooped the soup into a wooden bowl and handed it to the young man. Sol then bowed to her slightly and said softly for her to hear, "Thank you."

Hearing this, the old woman smiled happily in response before returning to her work with a wry smile. In the old woman's heart, she was admiring Sol a little as he was the first person today to say 'thank you' to her.

After receiving food, Sol, who had originally thought of sitting next to Elizia to discuss the details of what he had to do today, had to let out a small sigh as soon as he approached the girl. Without any hesitation, she immediately replied while she stared daggers at him.

"Don't come near me. …I'll approach you myself later when we have to talk but right now, don't come close to me."

The lady then walked away without a trace, causing Sol's likability score for Elysia to drop even lower than it was before. The young man stood there blankly for a moment before muttering to himself.

"What's with her..."

Sol let out a small sigh before going to a quiet place to sit and eat the soup that the granny had made instead. Surprisingly, there are no spoons in this village. Instead, the young man drank the hot soup, and it took him less than a minute to finish the bland soup.

When there is nothing to do aside from waiting for Elizia's next order, it was as if he was a dog tied to a pole waiting to be picked up by his master. Now the young man had to face a great crisis, that was, he was bored. He looked left and right to see if there was anything around him. He only found the villagers who were enjoying the broth so delicious that he sometimes wondered whether he had eaten too quickly because these guys were in the front row before him.

Eventually, the man chose to just sit there quietly and opened his shop system in the hope of killing time and finding something good there.

'Perhaps this system has something to help relieve our boredom right now... Perhaps?'

Sol, who was scrolling through the list of information, glanced over and saw some skills that were currently on sale in the shop. The moment he read the description, a triumphant smile appeared at the corner of his mouth. If it weren't for this being a public place. He might have stood up and laughed while posing like Dio Brando right now.

< Personal skill: 'Hide Costume'

Price: 25,000 g.

Once the heroic costume is put on, when you say the word 'hide costume', the heroic costume can be hidden back into the normal costume. While hiding the costume, Servant skills from that costume will still be acquired, but will not receive any special effects from wearing the Full Set >

'Goodbye, Spartan panties! hahahahahahahaha!'

As soon as he looked through his remaining balance, which contained 26,000 g., Soul did not hesitate, moving at the speed of light to purchase the skill immediately.

The reason why he immediately rushed to buy this skill wasn't (only) that he was uncomfortable with the heroic costume he had, but because with this passive skill, He will be able to use passive skills that are in that Heroic costume while not drawing others' attention due to his out-of-place outfit.

< You have acquired [Personal skill 'Hide Costume']

Remaining balance: 1,000 g. >

Although he feels some regret for the money, going from 26,000 g. to 1,000 g. in the blink of an eye, he is confident that this is the right call. He believed that the skills he currently possesses, as well as the passive skills he just bought just now, will definitely benefit and make profits for him in the future. The young man thought of that before immediately equipping the skill.

"What are you smiling for?"

Elizia, who had just finished her meal, now stood in front of Sol.

"It's nothing important. So don't worry about me." Replied, The young man while intently reading the details of the Heroic Costume he had.

But Elizia didn't know what Sol was looking at. She only felt that his eyes were looking straight ahead, directly at her abdomen. This made the woman misunderstand and stared back at him with a disgusted face as if she was looking at an insect.

"Go returned the bowl and prepared your hunting gear. We'll meet again here in five minutes. Today we have to hunt at least three monsters. So do something quickly. …and stop looking at my tummy before I gouge out both of your eyes, horny bastard!"

As soon as she finished, Elizia walked away, hiding her embarrassed face. Leaving only a threat that pulled Sol back from reading the skills in his inventory. The gazes of the villagers quickly moved to Sol in awkward silence. Before the tanned young man let out a bewildered voice.

"Wha?"

___________________________

...Five minutes later, Sol had already put away the bowl and prepared all the equipment. This was partly because everything he used came from the System Inventory— Except for the arrows that he asked for from the villagers in charge of weapons in this village. The reason for doing so is for the sake of keeping a low profile.

First of all, when he came here, he pretty much came here naked. He doesn't have a bag or anything that he can claim to have something to carry with him. Not unless he revealed to everyone that he could extract weapons and Servant Skills from the system, if he did that though, whether people believe him or not didn't matter. It's going to be very hard for him to act inconspicuously. He doesn't want to attract any attention until he's strong enough. At the same time though, he really wanted to use the weapon and armor in the system since it's very strong.

Therefore, Sol went to the villager who takes care of the equipment for hunting and asked to see the weapons, which are quite a lot. Sol acted as if picking a weapon in there for a while before pulling Arash's Scarlet Bow out of his inventory and tactfully picking up some arrows with him.

He was also wearing thin leather armor over his dark green tunic to give it the appearance of some sort of protective gear, although it wasn't really necessary as he was already wearing the 'William Tell' heroic costume, with the 'Hide Costume' skill to help disguise it.

Sol looked passively at the surrounding snowy ground while waiting for Miss Elizia, who at this time he did not know where in Emperor's name she was. So the young man who was getting bored again had the idea of opening his status to check it once more, but that thought was brushed off quickly by a familiar cold call from behind.

"Sure that armor will suffice, pervert?"

Hearing this, Sol turned to look at the source of the sound. which was Elizia in her leather armor, covering her skin completely. In addition, at her waist was a curved-blade sword kept in its sheath. She looks strong before but now she looks even more like a hunter.

"...Yes, ma'am. Also, my name is Sol. Please do call me correctly."

Replied, The young man with a dissatisfied look from the title Elizia had given him. He still didn't know why she rudely called him that.

"Alright then. From now on, I shall call you Sol the pervert."

"That's how people misunderstand that a person named Sol is a pervert. Just Sol alone is enough."

"That's because you ARE a pervert... or would you prefer Sol the horny bastard?"

"…"

Sol begins to feel that the real obstacle to his quest might not be Esdeath. Or Esdeath's father, but rather 'this twat.' The young man let out a sigh before raising both hands above his head and speaking with a fed-up look.

"Fine, I give up, you can call me whatever you want…" At that moment, the young man glanced at the 'plains' in front of him and muttered softly with a calm smile, "Those are some cute mosquito bites by the way."

Although soft as if whispering to the wind, the white-haired girl flinched before staring at Sol and glaring at him so deadly that he felt as though the snow around him would melt.

"I'm going to pretend, I didn't hear you just now."

Elizia calmed down as she cleared her throat slightly. However, before the girl could even take a single step, Sol quickly continued to ask with a pure and innocent look on his face.

"What did you say?"

"Y-!"

The image of Elizia just now, a second-in-command of the village filled with modesty and composure, was shattered in a split second, turning into an angry little girl in an instant. She then realized what just happened, making her face turn red.

"L- Let's hurry, We don't have time to waste."

It was only for a fraction of a second that the girl's embarrassed, 'cute' face appeared before she hurriedly turned away and walked forward. Seeing the girl's reaction like that, Sol smirked and walked quickly after Elizia, thinking in his heart, 'Eye for an eye' and laughing in his throat.

Despite all this, he didn't find her cute at all, nor did she find him any likable. They did both just insult each other. So in a way, their relationship could not have started any worse than this.
