Outside the big gates of the kingdom Azure, 20 kilometres away, four hooded people were hiding within the bushes.
Their black cloak made it easy for them to blend in with the shadows of the leaves as they didn't want to be spotted.
*Wheigh*
They were all tensed as they heard the sound of a horse pass them.
"Okay, I think he's gone." One of the people said as he stood up and removed his hood.
The man was quite aged, he had grey hair and one thing to notice was that, the man had no horns, no tail, no wings... He was not a demon.
The remaining three in cloaks stood up and looked at the man, waiting for instructions.
"Let's get to drawing the circle, there's no corrupted in the area so there's nothing to be wary of." The other three seemed to calm down as they heard this.
Who wasn't afraid of getting affected by a curse that can kill you? And then make you a monster.
Since the corrupted started getting widespread, the kingdoms on this continent took measures to stop the spread. It worked for a while and then monsters too started getting affected by the curse that plagued this continent.
The older man and his subordinates then started carving something into the floor simultaneously.
...
A few hours later.
The people in hoods who were humans were finally finished with what they were doing.
On the floor there was a large circle with a three metre diameter. In it, various symbols and mini circles were carved.
The leader, who was the grey haired man then went to a bag by the side and pulled out a fist sized red crystal.
One of his subordinates looked at him with hesitation as he said, "Master, I think it would be better if we sell that crystal. It's worth over fifty million charol."
The man only looked at the young boy who spoke and smirked.
"And what do you suppose we do after that?"
"We relocate, we could go to another continent too."
The leader just giggled at this boy's foolishness. Even if they run, they would be hunted down and killed. This crystal belonged to their king after all.
*Pa*
"Ow!" The boy shouted as he received a slap on his head from his leader.
"Forget about all those things, we were sent on a mission, we fulfil it, we collect rewards. Nothing else matters."
Hearing this the boy felt slightly dejected. His face managed to brighten up as he thought about the rewards they would get from their king.
The leader carefully placed the crystal in the middle of the formation.
The crystal glowed a bright red light as energy from it flowed into the circle, filling it up like water with its magic.
"It's done. Let's go!"
With that, they left the scene like shadows, not leaving a trace of their existence behind.
...
After an hour, the light have filled the entire circle and it glowed brightly before a stream of blue smoke swirled around like a tornado.
The tornado soon dissipated like dust blown into the wind, revealing a scary snake like creature.
It had a thick body, it's head was triangular, indicating that it was poisonous. The snake emitted a blue aura as it looked around carefully with a fierce gaze.
*ROOOAAAR*
Noticing the large gates at the distance the creature let out a loud roar, before slithering towards the kingdom, looking extremely angry.
It was having a meal when it was suddenly pulled to this new place. Why won't it attack anything on sight.
The snake slithered at a high speed, it's length is about 200 metres long with diameter of 20 meters. And with the speed, it's can be said now that calamity might actually befall Azure.
_____________
Meanwhile, Damien was sitting on the throne with a bored expression, while some community elders were sitting with him in the throne room talking to him on how to improve the nation.
They seem to have accepted him as the new king already before the coronation but Damien was looking bored as they talked and talked.
"We all think it would be better if..."
*Bangng*
Suddenly a guard barged into the room. All the elders looked at the guard in shock as the demon Lord can kill him for that single act.
"My Lord, we're under attack. A large snake dragon has almost broken through our defences. It seems to be targeting the city," the guard was shaking on the floor as he said those words.
"*Sigh* ..." Damien sighed tiredly as he stood up from the throne and dismissed the elders while he followed the guard.
"There my Lord!!" the guard said with trembling hands as he pointed the snake dragon outside of the city attacking the guards with it's tail.
The guards used fire magic to try and burn the monster but their attacks weren't going through and the monster blasted them with high pressured water from it's mouth.
"It's a water dragon. What's a water dragon doing all the way out here?"
Damien observed the creature and it's characteristics. The water dragons were all powerful creatures and have reputation for their water breath that can flatten a soul king.
But this one was especially terrifying, it had a triangular head. It may have poison or acid stored in it's body.
Damien was extremely confused as it's territory was very far away from here, so what was a water dragon doing here?.
"My Lord it's breaking through!"
A guard was scared as he almost got eaten by the monster earlier and have seen how terrifying it is, if it enters the city...
"Relax!"
Damien waved his hand and a sword appeared. It was a sword with a blue blade that looked ancient. The sword was emitting dark aura as it floated in front of him.
"A demon weapon!"
The guard fell on his butt in shock as he saw the blade in Damien's hand.
"Go."
The sword blasted away with a shockwave that pushed the guard further away, flying at high speed towards the monster as Damien controlled it with his mind.
...
Feeling the demonic energy, the snake dragon turned and looked at the blue light that was flying towards it.
*Grrrrr*
The dragon growled as the edges of it's scales glowed. The sword reached it the next moment and hit it....but it didn't pierced through and bounced.
"I see, it's already at the soul emperor level. This is not going to be easy."
Hearing what Damien said the guard fell on his butt.
Damien was a soul emperor and now that he said it's not going to be easy, there is a chance that Damien might fail.
Damien didn't pay any attention to the guard cowering in fear in the floor and then raised his hand.
The air above the castle vibrated as a large blue portal opened up. This portal is a summoning portal used by people to summon familiars from this world.
"Come forth Rako." he shouted as he jumped out of the palace into the air.
From the portal, a large white dragon emerged from it. It's wings almost covered half of the city as it flew up and caught Damien on its head. This white dragon had white scales and the jaws looked very powerful. It's silver claws shone in the sunlight, the tip reflected the sharpness of the claw.
It's tail looked strong enough to break through a mountain.
*Swoosh*
The sword returned to Damien's hand as he rode his dragon towards the water dragon that was just outside the gates.
Everyone in the city then began having hope, seeing their soon to be king going to fight the monster on his enormous white dragon.
"Hey look it's the legendary white dragon"
"Wow, so cool. I heard that it's extremely older than the demon prince Damien"
"That can't be true, the demon prince is at least 300 years old."
"I heard that he's way younger than that" People chatted as they saw the demon Lord going towards the enemy.
In front of the city walls, the dragon spotted Rako, the large white dragon coming at him. It was tensed as it began roaring at Rako.
*Craaaaarrrrhhhh*
It roared fiercely and angrily at the white dragon to which Rako roared back at him. Rako looked back to see if Damien will order it to attack.
'Let me handle this' Damien communicated telepathically with Rako.
This can only be done by Recessers who share a strong bond with their familiar. Facing challenges together, spending time together, all these factors strengthen the bond between master and familiar.
"I'll end this quick". Damien said as he jumped from the dragon towards the water dragon.
Damien is at the soul Emperör rank too, so...
