Shawn paused his action of brushing back his hair and looked at his mother's angry countenance reflecting in the floor to ceiling mirror in his room, "Why do you think it has anything to do with me?"

A deep scowl settled on his face, contrasting with the elegant picture presented in the mirror.

"Are you not the one that applied for the tour and have been singing in my ear every single day how your friends are not ready to invest in the relationship because they refused to go on this tour with you?"

Joanne quickly looked away from the mirror, but the faint flush that spread over her face did not escape Shawn's piercing gaze.

"Although I would have loved to go on this tour, your grandmother's health needs close monitoring."
