Chapter 2: Sol Ildenson Part I

The sunlight that gently brushed over my body revealed how fast this morning had approached. What happened last night had left traces emphasizing the tremendous fun that had occurred. The scent of the man I’d picked up at the party made me grin slightly as I distractedly stared at the person lying next to me. His face was so alluring that if I had been born a woman, I would have easily fallen for him.

It was a regret that I was not a woman.

“I think you should stop pretending to be asleep, Dylan.”

He froze.

“I don’t have the time to spend all day lying around staring at you.” I looked at the person who couldn’t help but let out a chuckle. Finally, this playful one was, of course, busted. Did he think that I couldn’t see him smiling when I woke up and pretended to go back to sleep when I propped my chip up to stare at him?

“You caught me.”

“You are not very good at deceiving people.” I chuckled softly because I’d caught him. “You shouldn’t smile when I’m staring at you. Otherwise, I would know you weren’t sleeping.”

“Anyone must have blushed when you stared at them.”

“Hmmm?”

“Especially me. I really am blushing hard.” He winked, reaching his hand to stroke the delicate cheeks that he had already kissed for a countless of times. His eyes glittered when I moved and the bathrobe that barely hung on my body slid down. “I think I need to have you one more time before we part.”

“That’s too bad. I’m in a rush.”

“I just need ten minutes.”

“Your time was up since last night.” I said to head him off, pushing that handsome face away from me because he looked like he was trying to nuzzle my neck. His sultry lips planted kisses on me, pulling my gaze back to his. I bit my lip, eyeing the cunning man. “Don’t seduce me.”

“Hmmph.”

“Dylan.”

“Just once.”

“…”

“And then I will let you go.” His raspy whisper sounded sexier than anything. His tongue ran along my fingers. His lips softly brushed my fingertips, but they were blazing, hotter than fire. He nibbled at my knuckles. Kisses were planted on the back of my hands and then on my lips.

I closed my mouth at first, resisting this man who knew what I wanted. After a bit, I couldn’t resist my own desire any longer.

The warm tip of his tongue entered my mouth, consuming the sweetness and transforming it into something soothing. I moaned as he softly bit my lips. He pressed his body closer as his hands started to naughtily work their way inside my bathrobe. I laughed, staring fearlessly straight into his eyes. I wrapped my arms around the neck of the man who was initiating the love play once again.

I would like to mention something…

Of all my past partners, Dylan was the best.

“You had time for me at last, Sol. J”

He was damn good at arousal.

………………

Drops of clear water splashed in response to the motion of my new inboard cruiser, which I had just ordered last month. The cruiser came with a bedroom suited for a person like me who is always on the go. The sound of the motor did not really ruin today’s mood. I pushed up my sunglasses while raising my hand to shield myself from the afternoon sunlight.

The clear seawater surface reflected the sunlight above. I smiled at the thought of where I was heading right now.

The only place where I was happier than when having sex with some guy.

We called it ‘EDS’.

Also known as the Sea Research Center.

“Sol!” The voice sounded from the top of the water tank. I waved in response when I got closer. I swept my eyes over the massive place. Every part of it has been created so that it looked like it belonged to another world that, once you’ve entered, would be hard to leave. There was a pool and other recreational facilities.

If this place was not situated in the middle of the sea, it would have been a tourist spot.

Flinched!

“Welcome back, sir.”

“Thank you.” I replied with a smile to the staff member who was in charge of cleaning. He helped me get off the boat and prepare to take the boat back to the garage. He also helped me carry the stuff that I had traveled great distances to buy.

I’d leave once a month to see if we needed anything. Though in actuality, I could have things delivered via helicopters, I preferred to experience the reality of the outside world.

And also, to entertain myself a bit.

“I hope there weren’t any problems.”

“Of course, there were. You weren’t here, so there had to be problems.”

“Oh!” I was surprised when I saw the man walking towards me with his arms crossed. His blue eyes told me that he was furious. I gave a little chuckle and shook my head. I couldn’t believe my eyes. “I didn’t expect you to be the first person I see. So, Eric, you can drag yourself out of the lab?”

He rolled his eyes at me and sighed in his usual way to show that he was annoyed.

“I have been waiting for you every day because you’ve been gone for almost a month.”

“Just almost; meaning not yet a month.” I was amused, unlike Eric, who was overly serious. Eric was the head of the research team I owned, so it wasn’t strange to see his serious attitude all the time. Ho looked at me. Our eyes met, and his were strained with disapproval. This was why I had decided to scale down our relationship two years ago.

No one wanted to go crazy staying with a person who was serious all the time, right?

“At least I came back.” I made an excuse so that this conversation could continue before tossing him a box of snacks that I remembered he liked. “Count this as my apology for my leave, so you can finally stop whining.”

As Eric grabbed it, I took that opportunity to slip into the research center. But I guess it was too simplistic to think that a box of snacks would be able to get rid of him. The tall figure followed me, his steps were as fast as mine as I was trying to walk away from him. Still, he didn’t grab my arm. He wasn’t as forceful as before.

He probably knew that was another reason for our breakup.

“I’m worried about you. At least try to understand a little.”

“But I’m obviously fine. Everything’s normal.” I shrugged. I wanted to show him that I was completely safe and sound. “Also, it isn’t like I haven’t vanished before. This was not the first time, and you know it.”

“That was just two weeks. It was a month this time.”

“You said ‘almost a month’ just now. No going back on your words.” The only thing I liked doing with him was bickering. Seeing his annoyed face made me feel successful at getting on someone’s nerves—even though I would be very irritated the next minute. “And please stop following me. Are you my shadow or something?”

“I can do more than you think.”

“Better keep it to yourself then, because I won’t argue with you too much today.” I softly patted his arm a few times to boost his spirits. “I think you’re overly stressed. Getting some rest would be good.”

“Sol…!”

“I will be getting some rest myself. I’m sore all over from driving the boat for more than half a day.”

“Hey!”

“I will see you as soon as possible tomorrow. See you at ten, in the Control Room. Bye.”
