Chapter 18: A blood-red sea Part II

"Or murder people…like what they did to my parents, Eric." Everyone widened their eyes. They were all shocked. I lowered my gaze. I remembered we had gotten on a boat with a banner like this on the front. It was the boat of the people who had murdered my family. I would have almost got adopted if I had not escaped.

I could not imagine how things would have turned out if I had been taken by those people. What would have happened to me...?

I might have become their sex slaves.

"This is insane!" I cried, dropping the banner onto the boat with a sigh. I licked my lips, an incurable habit of mind. Eric wrapped his arms around my shoulders because he was the only one who knew what I had been through.

It was a ghastly past. No one knew the secret that I had kept hidden.

"It's okay."

"I want to leave."
