Chapter 15: chapter 15

Losses tallied: 0/6

- The rewards are as follows: 2,000 points, two unrelated objects, and a servant card at random.

- The cost of failure is your life!

After looking at the incentives, Altair almost did a happy jump because they were so generous, especially the 2,000 points that gave him the ability to buy everything he wanted and still have points left over.

"That servant card picked at random, I have no idea what it is," said the player.

But once he realised what would take place if he failed this Quest, he quickly pushed those curious thoughts to the back of his mind.

Death!

That was something that he did not want to see, not the least of which was due to the fact that he still plans on discovering why he arrived to this world. In addition to this, he would like to find out what happened to him in his previous life, as for some reason he is unable to recall his final moments from his previous existence.

Even if I can perish from a straightforward battle, this punishment demonstrates that the system may not be as accommodating as I had anticipated... It would appear that in the future I will need to approach the missions with a greater degree of caution.

Altair made numerous attempts to interact with the system in order to learn why his failure to complete the Quest would result in his execution; but, he was unable to elicit any form of reaction from it, which led to his developing a mild case of melancholy.

"If I had the chance, I would take your life," they said. Even though he understood that it would be difficult for him to kill the system, he still had that need, after all, no one would like to have the rope around their neck at all times.

...

Rias took use of the fact that she was walking in order to begin a conversation with Sona. She informed her friend about the battle that was about to take place at this very moment, and she also contacted Sona in order to show her friend the new servant that she would be getting in the near future.

When Altair finally arrived at the "arena," which turned out to be nothing more than a clearing in the middle of the forest, he shook his head in disbelief because from a distance, this location appeared to be much larger. There, he observed that some people were already waiting, and to his surprise, he recognised some of these individuals.

''Hello Rias, did you acquire your new servant?'' Sona questioned inquisitively as she gazed at her friend with the fiery hair.

Altair's eyebrows rose in contempt as he listened to Sona's query, and he was unable to hold back the urge to respond.

''New servant? How are you able to make such a statement when the battle has not yet begun?''

"Hmph, you have no chance of beating Altair-kun. I may not know what kind of being you are, but you will never win against my peerage." "Hmph, you have no chance of beating Altair-kun." Rias stated arrogantly and this made not only Altair but also Sona grimace, not least because this statement from Rias was incredibly arrogant, and it didn't put anybody in his eyes.

Rias was underestimating him.

Let's hurry up and get this over with. Altair spoke with ice in his voice; this time, he wasn't merely interested in winning the fight.

He was going to humiliate Rias and bring her down from her lofty position in a way that she would never forget.

Rias was about to learn the meaning of the word "desperate" from him.

In a short time, everyone was already positioned on their respective sides, Rias' peerage was confident thinking that this fight would be won easily, even Kiba was a little more relaxed now that he was beside his companions, but even so he never let his guard down, since he as a knight knew that he could never show weakness to the enemy.

Moreover, Kiba was terrified of the way Altair was acting, that look, that smile and even the aura, everything about Altair intimidated Kiba, made him feel small, as if he himself was unimportant.

As if his existence wasn't important.

And yeah... he wasn't wrong.

''I've already built a mystical barrier, so you can battle without holding back.'' After Sona revealed, the atmosphere in the room grew much more strained.

But one person who didn't want to wait took a step ahead of everyone, and that person was not Altair or Rias, but Issei, who started out racing swiftly towards Altair.

Issei's speed at this moment may be regarded above normal, but to Altair it felt as if he was walking.

''Boosted Gear!'' While sprinting towards him, Issei raised his left fist and summoned his glove composed of dragon scales in red hue with a green sphere in the center.

Boost!

A sound was released from his glove, as if something was inside that green crystal.

Altair understood who this someone inside the glove was, or rather the dragon inside the glove.

This is one of the thirteen Longinus, Boosted Gear, where on this Sacred Gear, is imprisoned the Welsh dragon emperor that has the power to raise the power of the wearer every 10 seconds, unbelievable no? Besides it is believed that this Sacred Gear is capable of killing gods.'' Rias stated in a haughty attitude, hoping to watch Altair's reaction upon hearing what she said.

''Issei-san...'' Asia whispered worriedly, as she realized that Altair is not who he appeared to be.

"You are aware of how powerful I am; therefore, DIE!" Issei yelled as she aimed a punch with her left hand at Altair's face while simultaneously punching him.

The entire time, Altair kept his hands in his pockets, indicating that he was a little bit bored.

To Rias and her peers, however, it appeared as though he had already capitulated and was merely waiting for the outcome of the battle to be decided in his favour.

''We won.'' Rias thought to himself as he closed his eyes, certain that he no longer needed to worry about winning this fight.

But the fact of the matter is that she was grossly incorrect.

Issei was ready to smash Altair in the face with his fist when Altair quickly shifted his body to the right side, grabbed Issei's left arm, and then, in one swift motion, hit Issei in the face with the back of his left knee. This saved Altair's face from being struck.

Everyone appeared to be moving at a glacial pace in response to this move made by Altair.

When Altair's kick collided with Issei's face, besides knocking out a few teeth, it led Issei to be flung many meters, leading Issei to hit his back on numerous trees, which were destroyed in the process.

And all of this was accomplished with only one swift kick.

In addition, it appeared as though Altair had not applied any kind of power into this kick, but rather as though it was something that was done in a lighthearted manner.

''So, what was it that you were saying? Was Boosted Gear very powerful or what? Simply because, to my way of thinking, he doesn't appear to be all that.'' It was impossible to conceal the sarcastic undertone that was there in Altair's voice, which was accompanied by a grin.

''Don't grow so haughty! Koneko!'' After hearing her name called out by Rias, Koneko bolted in the direction of Altair.
