Chapter 14: Consumed

"Shit..."

With my body throbbing from the fall, I clenched my fists and quickly got on my feet.

I could feel fear threatening to engulf me as I stared down the Wendigo, looking at its towering figure and razor-sharp claws.

I scanned my surroundings, searching desperately for my weapon and luckily I quickly found the fallen branch, its end still intact and sturdy enough to use as a makeshift weapon.

'Fuck...'

Ignoring the searing pain that radiated through my limbs, I lunged towards the branch and seized it with a newfound strength. Gripping it tightly, I steadied myself, ready to face the Wendigo head-on.

However, my heart pounded in my chest, knowing all too well the danger I was about to face.

I could try to act tough and show no fear, but deep down, I knew that there was no way I was defeating this flesh-eating monster.

My chances of winning were very slim...

Phwwwwwhht...

As the creature lunged towards me, its claws poised to strike, I swiftly sidestepped its attack. With a desperate determination, I swung the branch with all my might, aiming for the Wendigo's twisted form.

Thwack...

The branch connected with the creature's decaying flesh, eliciting a guttural growl of pain, however, it was clear that my attack had only angered the Wendigo further.

Swish...

The Wendigo's claws swiped through the air, creating a whooshing sound as they narrowly missed my face.

!!!

In panic, I stumbled back, almost losing my footing as the Wendigo closed in on me.

I almost lost my face just a second ago!

Whoosh...

This time the Abomination managed to strike me with its claws, and I could feel them tearing through my coat and into my skin.

"Aghhh..."

I rolled backward, grimacing in pain as I clutched onto my wounded chest. Although I was injured, I managed to disengage from the Wendigo and gained some distance between us.

The wound also wasn't deep enough to incapacitate me, however, I knew that I couldn't hold out for long against the Wendigo's relentless attacks.

'It hurts...'

My vision blurred slightly as I staggered back, trying to regain my balance. The pain in my chest intensified with each labored breath, but I couldn't afford to give in to it. With grim determination, I raised the branch once again, preparing for the next clash with the Wendigo.

Phwwwwwhht...

The creature bared its fangs, its eyes gleaming with malice as it lunged at me with lightning speed. I barely had time to react, but managed to deflect its first strike with the makeshift weapon, the sound of wood meeting bone echoing through the forest.

"Ughhh..."

Sweat poured down my forehead as I strained against the Wendigo's relentless assault. Its claws sliced through the air, leaving deep gashes in the ground where I had just been standing moments before. I weaved and dodged, narrowly avoiding each deadly swipe, my heart pounding in my ears.

Thwack... Thud...

I landed a solid blow on the Wendigo's side, eliciting another enraged growl from the beast. But its resilience was unnerving. The creature retaliated with a powerful swipe of its claws, catching me off guard. The sharp edges tore through my clothing, leaving fresh trails of blood across my skin.

"Shit, Shit, Shit!"

Gritting my teeth, I pushed through the agony, refusing to succumb to defeat. I circled the Wendigo, looking for an opening, a weakness that could be exploited.

Whoosh... Swish...

The air filled with the sound of its claws, a symphony of danger and imminent death. I ducked and weaved, narrowly evading each strike, but my strength was waning. Fatigue settled in my muscles, making every movement sluggish and heavy.

The Wendigo's attacks grew more ferocious, its desperation mirroring my own. It lunged at me with renewed fury, claws aimed at my throat. In a desperate attempt to defend myself, I swung the branch with all the remaining strength I could muster.

Crack...

The sound reverberated through the forest as the branch splintered upon impact. I stumbled back, shock and realization flooding through me. My weapon was gone, shattered and useless in my hands.

Phwwwwwhht...

The Wendigo advanced, sensing my vulnerability. It swiped at me again, claws tearing through my flesh. Agonized screams filled the air as fresh wounds marked my body, each strike pushing me closer to the edge of defeat.

I fought back with all the strength I had left, but my movements were sluggish, my strikes feeble. The Wendigo toyed with me, its movements fluid and precise. It batted me aside like a rag doll, each blow sending shockwaves of pain through my battered form.

With each clash, I grew weaker, my body protesting against the punishment it endured. Blood dripped from my wounds, staining the forest floor as a grim reminder of my impending demise.

My vision blurred, the world around me fading into a haze of pain and desperation. I could no longer summon the strength to defend myself effectively against the Wendigo's onslaught. The creature's claws tore through my flesh with savage precision, ripping through muscle and sinew, leaving a trail of crimson in its wake.

Pluck...

Each strike sent waves of agony coursing through my body, as if the Wendigo took pleasure in savoring my suffering. Its claws sank deeper, shredding my defenses, while its eyes glimmered with a sickening satisfaction.

Phwwwwwhht...

My attempts to fight back were feeble and futile. I swung my broken weapon, my movements sluggish and devoid of power. But the Wendigo effortlessly deflected my blows, its movements fluid and graceful compared to my faltering ones.

Thud...

I stumbled and fell, my body protesting the punishment it endured. The Wendigo leaned closer, its fetid breath filling my nostrils, a repugnant reminder of its otherworldly nature.

With an eerie calmness, the Wendigo sank its fangs into my flesh, relishing in the taste of my suffering. Agonized screams escaped my lips, merging with the surrounding symphony of terror and despair.

"Aghhhh!!!"

The pain intensified, blurring the line between consciousness and oblivion. I fought against the encroaching darkness, clinging to the fading embers of my resolve. But the Wendigo was relentless, tearing at my flesh with an insatiable hunger.

I could feel my strength waning, my body growing cold and weak. The world spun around me, the forest fading into an abyss of shadows. My vision narrowed, focusing solely on the monstrous creature before me, its malevolent presence consuming my thoughts.

In my final moments, I accepted my fate, knowing that my struggle against the Wendigo was in vain.

As the Wendigo continued its merciless assault, my consciousness slipped away, leaving behind only the echoes of my futile resistance.

"I'll kill you..."
