Chapter 17: NO!!!

"Mother isn't home yet, but she should be back soon." Luke murmured as he entered the quiet and empty house.

He glanced at the clock on the wall, realizing that it was already past 10:15 PM.

Luke decided to start preparing a meal, hoping it would be ready by the time his mother arrived.

Yes, Luke could cook, and he often did when his mother had to work late.

As he chopped vegetables and seasoned the dish, his mind wandered, wondering about his new strength.

|Ding!|

[~~Congratulation Host For Completing A Quest!]

[Quest: How can the host of the God System be this weak?]

[Description: Breakthrough your limit and reach the Warrior Apprentice Stage]

[Time Limit: 2 Days]

[Reward: 200 God Points]

[200 GP have been added to the host's panel]

Luke's heart raced as he read the notification.

"System, can I use these points to get stronger?" Luke asked the system in his mind.

[Yes host...]

[The host can use God Points to strengthen his strength, agility, and Cosmic Energy.]

"That's all I could use the points for?" Luke questioned.

[No, the host can use God Points for other things; unfortunately, the host's strength is limited and can't fully use the system's abilities.] The system replied.

Luke sighed in disappointment, hoping that he had other things that he could use GP on.

Nevertheless, being able to upgrade his strength, agility, and Cosmic Energy using GP meant that he could quickly level up.

Which also excited him no less.

He quickly opened the God System panel and scrolled through his stats.

"How do I upgrade my stats?" Luke asked, eager to start improving his stats.

[The host can press the "Attribute" you want to upgrade and then select the amount of GP you wish to allocate towards that attribute.] The system explained.

Luke's eyes lit up with anticipation.

He immediately clicked on the "Strength" attribute.

A new panel appeared that displayed Luke's current strength level and a slider that allowed him to allocate his GP.

[Strength: 10/50]

The exchange rate for upgrading attributes is 50 GP for every 10 points.

"What! Why don't you just directly rob me?" Luke exclaimed in disbelief.

He couldn't believe how expensive it was to upgrade his attributes.

[That incorrect host, the system has deemed this exchange rate as fair and balanced.] The system responded.

"Can't you change the exchange rate? It seems a bit unreasonable," Luke pleaded.

The system remained unmoved, stating, [I'm sorry, but I cannot alter the exchange rate. It has been designed to ensure a balanced progression for the host.]

Luke sighed in frustration, realizing that he would have to work hard to earn enough GP to upgrade his strength attribute.

The system was not going to budge on the exchange rate.

"What is fair and balanced about this rate?" Luke asked, his voice filled with annoyance.

One quest just made him 200 GP, just enough to upgrade his strength from 110 kg to 150 kg.

An Early Warrior Apprentice has 100 kg of strength; an Intermediate Warrior Apprentice possesses 250 kg of strength; for a High Warrior Apprentice, one has 400 kg of strength; and a Peak Warrior Apprentice has 500 kg.

Not to mention that Luke still has to upgrade his speed and Cosmic Energy.

Luke couldn't help but feel frustrated at the slow progress he was going to make if he made only 200 GP.

'Don't tell me I will become like those losers MCs that take a trillion years to level up in just one realm!"

"NO!!!"

Luke shouted in frustration, his determination fueling his frustration.

The thing that Luke hated most was the MC of a story feeling stagnant and not being able to see significant improvement in the MC abilities.

Why, just why does an MC take many years just to enter a higher stage when it only takes a fraction of that time for the antagonists to power up?

Not to mention the Mc lovers who could level up in the blink of an eye.

It was infuriating to Luke how the protagonist's allies always seemed to effortlessly reach new heights while the MC was left behind, struggling.

He couldn't help but feel that the story was biased, favoring the growth of the villains and side characters over the main character.

Luke couldn't understand the logic behind it.

He just hated slow progress, especially when it seemed like everyone else was getting stronger at an alarming rate.

[...]

[The host doesn't have to worry about leveling up his strength faster. There are different ways that the host can use to acquire more GP. For example, completing quests and killing monsters or human warriors rewards the host with a significant amount of GP.

There is also the option of dual cultivation with the opposite gender, which not only increases the host's strength but also provides a unique experience~~~]

Hearing the system's last words, Luke's eyes widened with excitement.

'Well, it's not bad to lose your virginity for the sake of leveling up,' he thought to himself with a mischievous grin.

|Pa--------|

Luke slapped his face in disbelief, realizing that he was thinking about something so absurd. He quickly shook off the inappropriate thoughts from his mind.

"No, no snu snu... for now."

No woman would accept someone as talentless and poor as Luke, who lives in this run-down district of the city.

With so many other options available, Luke could still get enough GP to level up without resorting to such drastic measures.

'I just need to enter a dojo and start exploring the wildness; if I kill enough beasts, I can earn the necessary GP to level up,' Luke thought to himself.

He knew that the path to success wouldn't be easy, but he was determined to not stay stuck in his current situation.

No man can achieve greatness without facing challenges and pushing themselves beyond their limits.

"Yes, let's do it!"

"Do what?"

Without him realizing it, Luke blurted out his thoughts aloud.

Startled, he looked around to see who had spoken.

"Mom!"
