Chapter 31: Graduation Ceremony

"I'm really sorry, but I won't be able to make it to your graduation ceremony," Sophia said apologetically, her voice laced with sadness.

"But I promise you that I will make it up to you," she said, her eyes earnestly wanting to be there to celebrate her son's graduation.

"I know how important this day is for you, and I wish I could be there to celebrate with you, but..."

"Don't worry, Mom. I get it," Luke interjected, wearing a kind smile.

"I know how busy you've been with work lately, and I appreciate all the sacrifices you've made for our family. Your love and support mean the world to me, and that's what truly matters. We can always celebrate together once you're free, and I'm just happy knowing that you're proud of me."

Sophia's heart swelled with pride as she hugged her son tightly, feeling grateful for his understanding and love.

Sophia held onto the memories of what had occurred in Luke's room last night. She couldn't bring herself to talk with anyone about the incident that happened yesterday. The mere thought of Luke discovering that he had unknowingly kissed her while asleep was enough to make her feel incredibly embarrassed.

That's why the next morning, she resumed her usual routine as if nothing had changed.

She prepared breakfast for Luke, and she made a special meal for him.

She wanted to make his morning a bit more special since he would be graduating today. She truly wished to be there at his graduation ceremony to show her support, but she knew she couldn't attend.

Sophia wasn't able to take any days off work, and her boss was strict about attendance. Not only that, but the employees that were supposed to cover for her were already out on leave.

Despite her disappointment, Sophia knew that Luke would understand, and she promised herself that she would make it up to him later.

As she watched him leave for school, Sophia couldn't help but feel a pang of sadness mixed with pride.

Her little boy was growing up so fast, and she wished she could freeze time just for a moment to savor these precious memories.

But life goes on, and she had to push her own desires aside for the sake of providing for her family.

'She didn't treat me differently.' Luke thought to himself as he walked to school.

His mother's interest has also dropped.

'Even her interest meter dropped from 60 to 56,' Luke mused, feeling that something was wrong.

[I think the host mother is keeping what happened locked inside her heart; probably she doesn't want to ruin the relationship with the host], the system said to Luke as he continued on his way.

Luke couldn't help but wonder what could have caused Sophia's interest rate to drop.

'Maybe you're right,' Luke replied to the system, deep in thought.

'But whatever it is, I can't do anything right now, even if I wanted to. Let's just focus on getting stronger and changing our lives.' Luke is determined to prioritize his own personal growth and improvement.

'Let's see how much time it takes for me to arrive at school this time,' Luke thought to himself as he checked his watch.

50 km away from his school, Luke wanted to test his new speed of 15 m/s to see if it would significantly reduce his travel time.

With an excited look on his face, Luke took off, running towards his destination.

As he sprinted through the streets, his heart pounding with excitement, Luke couldn't help but be shocked at how much faster he was moving compared to his usual pace.

The wind rushed past his face as he effortlessly covered the distance in record time.

In just 55 minutes, Luke had already reached his school, amazed at the incredible difference in his travel time.

He still didn't use Cosmic energy, or Luke would have arrived even faster.

Many students were walking into the school with excited looks on their faces; they should be third grade students, knowing that it was their last year at the school.

They chattered excitedly about the upcoming graduation ceremony and all the memories they had made over the past three years.

Luke walked towards the school, where Jack was already waiting for him in the school yard. Jack waved and shouted,

"Bro, over here!" Luke quickened his pace, and soon he was standing next to Jack. They exchanged a quick high-five.

"So, bro, are you ready for the graduation ceremony?" Jack asked, his voice filled with anticipation.

Jack was excited to graduate; he already planned on attending a good university and had dreams of pursuing a successful career.

The path of a warrior wasn't for him, so his only focus was on building a successful business empire.

If he had enough money and influence, he believed that fame would naturally follow.

No lady would escape his charm, and no opportunity would slip through his fingers.

"Hehehe!!" Jack laughed mischievously, confident that his dreams were within his grasp.

Luke watched as his friend was lost in his dreams, a smile playing on his lips as he shook his head in amusement.

"Bro, are you really going to apply for the Extreme Martial Dojo?" Jack asked, and Luke replied,

"Yes, I already prepared everything. I will be applying for the Extreme Martial Dojo after the ceremony ends."

"I heard that this year they're only accepting a limited number of applicants, so competition is going to be fierce," Jack said, a hint of concern in his voice.

"Isn't it better to apply to a good university just for backup?" Jack suggested, his brows furrowing.

Luke chuckled, his eyes sparkling with determination. "I appreciate your concern, Jack, but pursuing martial arts has always been my dream.

The Extreme Martial Dojo is renowned for its rigorous training, and I believe it will help me grow as a warrior."

Jack nodded, a mix of admiration and worry on his face. He knew that Luke always wanted to be a warrior, but his talent wasn't like that of his sister, so Jack thought Luke would give up.

"Don't worry, the Extreme Martial Dojo is just the beginning; I will definitely pass," Luke reassured Jack, his voice filled with confidence.

"There's no way I will fail." With a determined smile, Luke walked towards the school.

Today was the last day after classes, and a big ceremony would be held to celebrate the students who had successfully graduated.

For now, Luke decided to savor the moment, knowing that he'd have little time for such occasions in the future.
