Chapter 21: Plot Armour

I heard the door knob turn and as soon as it opened, I rushed towards the door.
I saw a silhouette of a figure entering the room and immediately grabbed him/her by their neck and twisted it.
-Crack!
With a small sound of bones cracking, the figure limped down to the ground.
I wiped the sweat off of my forehead with my hand and sighed in relief only to go into a state of shock as I locked eyes with a male guard standing a few steps away from the door.
He looked at me and froze in shock as well.
'Fuck! Even if I try to subdue him now, it will take me a few seconds and that will be enough time for him to press the siren and alert the whole building and then it will take me some more time getting back to this room.'
I made a decision in 0.1 seconds and activated my powers to cover my fist in Haki and smashed the server inside the room. I punched the server about 14 times in less than a second and made sure it was destroyed completely.
*Beep* *Beep*
I heard the alarms going off and red lights turning on inside the room and the corridor outside.
I used Soru and delivered a punch straight into that guard's gut as he had just completely ruined my mission.
I wanted to get out of here immediately but I realised that this man had only wrung the alarm. He didn't had the time to tell anyone about where he was or where he saw an intruder as I had just subdued him in less than 5 seconds since he saw me.
I made my way back into the room and pressed on a button and spoke into the mic.
"Code Red. Code Red. Intruder on 50th floor wearing a black hoodie and surgeon's mask. Highly dangerous and armed. All units engage immediately!"
I then turned the mic connected to the speakers around the building off and was about to leave but my eyes wandered off to the screen in front of me again.
'Don't do anything stupid! Don't do anything stupid! You will get her back anyway!' I told myself as I saw Elsa's footage which showed her crying inside that room.
'Ah. Fuck it! I will check which room she is in. If she is on this floor, or just one above or below, I will save her.'
I quickly checked the room where she was in and well my bad luck struck again because she was inside the room on the floor below this.
"Fuck it! Let's do this!" I said and I used Soru to arrive at the last room down the hallway and broke the gate.
Luckily the room was empty as there were hardly anyone in the lower floors of this building except for those guys in the security room.
I made sure to aim properly and not affect the area where Elsa will be directly under and punched on the ground with all my power, I punched again and again and again and finally after the 5th punch, the ground broke and I fell down into the room Elsa was in.
Let's just hope she didn't move and didn't get crushed under the rocks
*Cough* *Cough*
I heard coughing noise and immediately went towards it.
And there I saw Elsa groggily opening her eyes and covering her mouth with her hand.
"O-Owen?" she asked in confusion. Debating with herself whether she was hallucinating or not.
"Be quiet and just follow me for now. I will explain everything later." I said hurriedly as I grabbed her hand pulled her up to her feet.
-Voom!
I punched the incoming attack with my Armament Haki while protecting Elsa using my body as a shield.
"Arhgh!!" I groaned in pain as the attack left a burning sensation on my hands.
They weren't burn but they had become incredibly hot.
Ignoring the pain, I put Elsa on my back and jumped to the left in order to dodge the next attack which decimated the area we were previously standing on.
Her body was tiny and not that heavy so it was like carrying a slightly heavy bag pack.
"Kyaah!" Elsa let out a surprised scream.
'Shit! I thought that everyone had moved upstairs after I said that into the mic.'
I didn't thought that I will encounter anyone here especially someone this strong.
I can't fight them and protect Elsa at the same time.
-Shing!
I saw many small orbs of light glow in the distance illuminating the figure of the assailant. And it just had to be two of the high ranked fighters of this group.
Before they launch the attack, I used Soru and rushed to the hole in the ceiling.
I need to get out of here as soon as possible.
While I was in air, one of the two of them appeared in front of me.
"So easy to predict." he said and punched me right in my face which sent me crashing down at the ground.
I pulled Elsa out to the front before crashing back first into the reinforced wall.
"Who are you?" the other one joined the guy who just punched me and asked.
Since I was wearing a face mask, they could not tell who I was.
Even Elsa should not know. I think she had just hoped for me to come get her so much so that she mistook my disguise as me.
I gritted my teeth as I glared at the two of the opponents in front of me.
It will take only a few seconds to realise my lie and then everyone will converge in this place.
-Rumble!
Suddenly the entire building shook violently and the speakers in the building went on in full volume.
["CODE RED! CODE RED! NUMEROUS UNKNOWN ASSAILANTS HAVE SET UP A SPACIAL ISOLATION AND ARE ATTACKING US!!"]
"Let's take care of this quickly." one of them said in a serious tone with narrowed eyes and walked closer to us.
Elsa had gone into panic mode a few moments back and had been switching between begging and cursing at the two of them.
I slapped at the back of head knocking her out and got up.
It is all or nothing now.
The attackers outside are most likely are the people from my group trying to create a distraction for me to escape peacefully.
But none of that matters if I can't get rid of the two of them.
I have the advantage right now. They are both long are range righters.
'Soru!'
Arriving directly in front of man A, I threw out a punch but it got blocked because by a shield made of light.
I used Soru again and continued to change the position of my attack and started attacking him from all directions.
All of my attacks were blocked but that didn't matter.
This person is a lot better fighter than the other one and has much better battle IQ. Which is why it is necessary to keep him busy.
I sensed a slight flicker of energy behind me.
'Heh. That guy fell for it!'
"You idiot! Don't put down your shield!!" Man A yelled
"Too late!" I said as I arrived in front of Man B and punched him with all my might.
-Crack!
The sound of bones cracking reached my ears before this person flew and crashed into the wall.
I then quickly got away as another powerful blast of light passed through where I was standing.
Although I sensed the attack, I wasn't fast enough to dodge it completely and it collided with a part of my face.
I didn't have enough time to waste and got up quickly. Ignoring the pain since this fight will now be decided by a race.
A race to see who will grab hold of the other's weakness first.
I ran towards where Man B crashed and after I grabbed him, I used Soru to arrive close to Elsa and kicked Man A who was about to reach her.
'I won.'
"Give up. I win." I said
"Ugh!" he glared at me with such ferocity that I started feeling chills run down my spine.
If this had been a proper fight, I don't know if I will be able to win or not.
These guys had many disadvantages.
First, we are fighting in a close space where they can't utilise their abilities as efficiently as before. Second, they can't use a very powerful and wide range attack since that will put Elsa in danger and they will not benefit at if she dies.
"Tell the ones coming down to stop and that the situation is taken care of."
I didn't receive a reply so I wrapped my hands around Man B's neck.
"Do it." I said
"...Fine." He called a number through his phoneI had gestured him to put the phone on speaker. As soon as his call was picked, he said.
"This is Charlie. Everyone move outside the building and stop the ones attacking us. I have already dealt with the intruder."
[That's amazing! Good job. We will send someone down to help with the cleanup.]
"Don't bother with that. I am on my way up as we speak."
[I see. As you say boss.]
*Beep*
"....If I didn't say that last part, he would have sent someone down here." he said as he looked at me warily.
"Don't worry. I don't care about that."
"..You don't?"
"No. After all you are going to create a way for me to go outside." I said with a smirk on my face
"What are you planning to do with the girl?" he asked after a bit of silence.
"That is none of your business."
"You return my brother and send her back to her home and promise to not harm her and in return I will even fight my own people to make sure that you escape. Does that sound good?"
Haah??!!
"Why do you care about this girl so much?"
"That is none of you business."
The audacity of this bitch to use my words against me!
"I can't make a deal with someone who I can't trust. So answer my question." I said
"Says the person hiding his own face."
"Huh?" I touched my cheek and realised that the mask I was wearing to disguise my face had burned because of his last attack.
'Well there is no point in wearing it now.'
I grabbed it and tear it off revealing my face and as soon as he saw me, his eyes went wide.
He looked at me in shock and stayed quiet for a few seconds and after that he started laughing maniacally.
"You really are a crazy bastard. The whole situation with the Starlight and Monster group, you created it didn't you? You created a strong distraction and infiltrated right after our chairman left didn't you?"
"Yes. So now answer my question."
Although I maintained my composure in front of him, I was actually very surprised.
In just a few seconds, he was able to connect all the dots and figure everything out.
He is strong and on top of that he is even smarter. No wonder he has a high ranking position in this group.
"Jake and I never wanted for her to suffer like that anyways. We were against the decision our chairman made to kidnap a little girl from the start but didn't have the guts to oppose him. We tried to make her feel a little more comfortable while she stays here but boss didn't like that and he destroyed everything in her cell and even tortured her."
What the..? Of all things, I didn't expect this at all.
"Since you are the one who will be taking her, I will escort you out of here. I wanted to escape this place with Jake so I started creating an escape route connecting this basement to a nearby plot of land. Come I will show you."
What the hell? Is this what plot armour feels like?
I mean if this was a fictional story, I would indeed be the protagonist. I mean who else would get reincarnated with an OP ability from an anime and would be born with talent as well?
But this feels way too weird and amazing at the same time.
Fighting against the only person stopping you from reaching your goal and then that very person becomes your ally on his own volition and even helps you reach that goal.
This feels amazing.
I am the protagonist. Me!!
"What are you waiting for?" Charlie asked
"Oh nothing. But before I follow you out, just destroy the CCTV cameras outside. I can't show my real face."
He nodded his head and the destroyed all the CCTV cameras present in the hall.
After that, I followed him through the escape route he created and got out of the building.
I handed Jake to Charlie and called Ben to ask him to stop the attack on the building and lower the Spacial Isolation so that we can get out of this place.
'Mission Complete!!'
