Chapter 2: 2
"Wake up augie, we are leaving". My mum bellowed from outside my room door. I mumbled under my breath and got up. It was Friday and the weekend was right around the corner. They had to leave for the business trip and I pouted my face not happy with them leaving me alone with a not so good of an older brother.
I walked down the living room to see my dad all suit up and mum all in her cashmere clothing. "Do you have to go? ". I groaned not wanting them to leave cause I knew once they did. This house was a full on party set. My mum smiled " We will be back before you know it". I hugged her and my dad just smiled giving me a tiny pep talk "august we will be back soon. Take care". I nodded in response.
Keith in an excited tone bellowed "see you soon mum dad, have a safe trip". I rolled my eyes as I could see his little devilish tendencies.
Mum glared at Keith and said in a cold tone " Keith behave alright, or else you will be in big trouble ". I giggled and Keith rolled his eyes.
The house was empty and Keith was super excited. I went to the kitchen counter and got myself coffee with bread toast. " You really going to Lisa's tonight? ". Keith questioned as he scroll down his phone. "Aha" I responded. "Why not enjoy a little baby Augie?! Call Lisa and join the party". I scoffed " I have not even one bit interest in parties". I chewed on my toast when he retorted "lil baby brother your gonna die living like nothing". I rolled my eyes and kept the dear response in my head cause I was not in the mood to argue with him. It's exhausting.
" Okay.., I willl call Lisa too". I retorted and Keith just had the biggest eyeballs which would gauge out if it was a cartoon. "S-sure" He rejoined and i stood up leaving him alone in the kitchen. The conversation with him is draining. Lisa is my best friend and she is pretty with brunette hair and the most important friend. I headed to my room before showering for class and sending a quick text to Lisa I typed "party at my place tonight want to join? ".
The reply was quicker than i thought "Am I dreaming?!!! Fuck yes!!".
I rolled my eyes and threw the phone in my bed heading to shower.
I don't understand what so fun about parties. I just don't understand being drunk or getting drunk.
I got out of the shower and soaking off my wet hair. I put on a baby blue hoodie with black jean and my favourite go-to airforce. I looked in the mirror and the mole just straight below my eye on the cheek stood out on my pale skin. I was only 5'2 unlike my brother who is 6' or nearly.
"August, What the fuck! Are you done
Yet". Frustration clearly visible in her voice. He always give me a ride to school cause I hate taking the bus.
I rushed downstairs and meeting Keith at the living room already too pissed with the waiting. He was in his basketball varsities which was black and white. The team name clearly embroidered on it 'wolves'.
I sigh and articulated "yes Keith I am done and we can kindly leave to our destination which is not even 10mins away, thank you". He walked out and I followed him.
I locked the door as I pinned in the lock number and swiping the house card. " Uugghhh... To much of a hassle".
He brought his car over which was a new modelled black PoLo sport cars with the worst sounds which made it seem like it was always in a rush. I hopped inside and gosh how I hate that sound which most people found it awfully amazing. "Stop flexing and ride Keith". I fumed when he smirked and rejoined "It's all about the fun August".
We got to school in the right time and as he pulled the car on the parking spot. The amount of students noticing this little piece of shit gives me anxiety. I got out of the car so did Keith and right at that coincidental time Noah parked his black viper next to my brothers and now I am surrounded by millions of eyes. This local celebrities makes me frustrated. My brother pulled his fist up for a fistbump with me which we always do but not out of all today. The stupid day when two popular idiots are near me. I sigh and fistbump him "see you later" He smirked and I nodded while Noah was standing on the other side wearing the same team varsities.
"Yeah, I have to leave before both of your aura and fan base kill me". Keith eye rolled and groaned " Fuck off". I walked away giggling as my last gaze met Noah and he made a little nod which I returned.
I walked to my locker and because of all the attention caused outside. I felt eyes looking at me wherever I go.
"And did I saw you outside in the limelight today". Lisa recited with the biggest smile plastered on her face.
I sigh and mumbled " Not the way I wanted to start the day". Lisa laughed and said "yeah, I figured that part out". And we both walked to out first class.
Lisa was amazed that I invited her for a party. She knew parties were not my thing and it was something I would never do until offered a million dollars. We kept our conversation minimum as the first class started. It was boring as ever but I did what I do best . ' Listen, Note, Study'.
Lisa gave me a ride home and we planned on meeting over at my place later tonight. The little believe that the house would be empty was shattered when I entered and the living room was messed up. "Keith?? " I called out but no reply returned and the staircase leading to the basement was noisy. The basement was where my mum and dad made a special hangout spot for Keith and his friends because of the ruckus they made.
I walked down the basement and saw Keith along with his friends especially from the basketball team playing and smashing the life out of the game controller. The basement was spacious with the xbox and a huge screen. There were cushions and a sofa with beanbags placed all over.
"Keith? ". I called out and he shot his head back " Sup? ". He questioned.
"Ummhh nothing". I replied heading upstairs when he said "cool, wanna join for a match". He bellowed and I shot my head out looking at my favourite game they were playing. I thought for a second and nodded
" Yeah sure".
"Hey everyone introducing my brother August". He announced and the three to four people looked at me.
"Oh!you had a little brother? " The blond hair with blue eye questioned. He looked at me and shot his hand for a shake which I returned "Ace, nice to meet you". I smiled and replied "August, nice to meet you too".
He smiled and said " As you see the shaved head is Mac as in macbook and the long hair with the little pony is Damon and that one as you know is Noah". My eyes met his gaze and I nodded.
"Are we doing the game Or not? ". Keith questioned really impassioned. I sat on the sofa next to Ace as he hold on to his contoller and I had on mine.
" Your going down August ". He warned with a smirk and I returned with another smirk " Will see about that". And before the timer even went off I finished him off with a K. O. hitting him with my Ulti. Everyone pin dropped silent and their stares poking holes. "What the fuck!? " Ace lilted with excitement and so did the rest of the people except Noah.
Keith patted my head messy and I laughed as the group did. I had a match with all of them and with zero lose. It was Noah's match with me and I felt nervous as he sat next to me. He looked at me and smirked and he ran his had through his hair. I found that really attractive. The smell of his perfume and the little bumps that we did made me tingle. I was back focused on my game but as I swiftly gave out my ulti his character dodged it and he finished me off. I blinked at the screen feeling frustrated of my lose and everyone was too excited making noises.
"Noah hates losing after all" Ace and Keith recited together. Noah smirked and retorted "shut the fuck up".
"Guys we are forgetting party is about to start at 7pm". And I groaned feeling frustrated when all of them sounded excited as they exit from the basement heading upstairs. I sat on the sofa waiting to process the exhaustion when Noah remarked "You played well" I blushed as he left the basement.
