Chapter 3: 1.01

"Lord Manderly. Thank you for following me along." Perseus said gratefully.

"It is my duty, my lord. Our liege was summoned to Kings Landing. It can not be for anything good. We will be ready when the time comes, my lord." Wyman Mandery said respectfully.

Perseus only gave a curt nod in response before he kicked his horse, and they both took off, away from White Harbor.

Perseus had expected something like this to happen. Especially since the king had sent an auditor and a tax collector of ill repute to view the vaults of Winterfell. The remains of the collector were used to feed the crows. The auditor, on the other hand, 'slipped' from a set of stairs in Winterfell. The vaults of Winterfell were finally thriving before the madman of a king decided to try looting from us.

Perseus had multiple plans he could implement. Since he had been blessed by Athena, he was privy to all the designs of everything that was invented back on earth until the twenty-first century. Most of the inventions could not be implemented because of the backward way of thinking and stagnation of the advancement of this world.

But Perseus' primary concern was to make sure his father got to Kings Landing with a support host along with his preexisting host. Rickard had taken along a host from Torhens Square and around five hundred soldiers from the Winterfell guard.

Perseus had already sent ravens from the White Harbor ravenry.

Now he was riding at maximum speed. He was still in sight. He couldn't teleport out of the path since he couldn't reveal his powers yet. Yet.

Then came nightfall.

He teleported a few kilometers out from Winterfell.

As the horse trotted down the path. The walls of the holdfast were seen getting bigger and bigger.

The young heir sped toward the gate, and as he approached, the guards began shouting, "Open the gates! It's lord Perseus!"

He rode straight past everyone and pulled into the Winterfell courtyard.

He jumped off his horse and strode across and I to the holdfast.

Before he could turn the corridor, two bullets hit him.

One in his leg and the other on his shoulder.

Bullets named Brandon and Lyanna.

Both hugged him tight and only said, "Don't go. There is a stranger with our mother."

This made him take a pause and look down, "A stranger? Who? Lyanna, Brandon? Answer me."

Lyanna responded, "Tall, silver hair. Looks like a prat."

Perseus gave a bellowing laugh that seemed to reverberate through the corridor. He stepped forward with the twins still latched onto him.

He walked forward toward the great hall where he was sure he would find the 'stranger' and his mother.

And he was right.

He did find his mother, Lyarra Stark, and the stranger.

Rhaegar Targaryen sat at the chair opposite my mother, his sides flanked by his trusted knights.

Behind him stood Gerold Hightower with the badge of lord Commander of the Kingsguard and the Hightower sigil on the chest plate.

On the prince's right stood, Arthur Dayne with the symbol of House Dayne on his chest plate and the sword Dawn, with his hand resting on the pommel.

On the prince's left, Oswell Whent, with the sigil of House Whent on his chest plate and hand on the pommel of his nameless sword.

Rhaegar Targaryen was decked out in the Targaryen colors, red and black, with a sword resting against his chair.

Perseus walked in with the twins, who had let go of him, in tow.

He walked and bowed in front of the prince.

Ser Arthur coldly remarked, "You are to kneel in front of the royalty. Or have you forgotten your courtesy, Stark?"

Before Perseus could channel his inner Northman, the prince intervened, "Ser Arthur, hold your tongue. It is we who have forgotten our courtesy. We arrived here without any due notice and have still been welcomed graciously into their home. I truly apologize to you, Lady Stark, and you, Heir Stark."

Perseus only replied in a neutral tone, "It is of no matter, my prince. I am sure you have your reason for making your way here in silence. I assume you did not wish to draw any attention?"

"That is true, Heir Stark. I was about to disclose the matter to Lady Stark a few moments prior to your arrival. Now that you are here, it will be more convenient."

Rhaegar drew in a breath before continuing, "My father has been... wary of the North for quite a while now. Your father was summoned to answer some of the king's 'queries.' There is a probability he will not be allowed to return."

Lyarra drew in a sharp breath at this, "What do you mean, my prince?"

"I mean to say, my father's madness will plunge the realm into war. Even now, whispers of me in the North will be heard in my father's ears. He won't concern himself as to why I am here. He will consider me a traitor and have me brought before him in chains. As far as anyone who knows of endeavor is concerned, I am here to make peace and amends. But I am really here to gather allies. My father is no longer the man he was. The Defiance has changed him completely. He burns and murders his own allies in the name of Fire and Blood. So I would ask you to let bygones be bygones and assist me in helping the country. Heir Stark."

Lyarra growled, "You still haven't told me what would happen of my husband, Prince Rhaegar." There was the ferocity of a wolf in her words.

Rhaegar drew in a slow breath, "Your husband, Lord Stark will branded traitor to the realm and executed without a trial."

Lyarra was ready to faint when Perseus came to the rescue.

"Do not fret mother. I already sent a dispatch of one thousand men stationed at the Moat to assist father, even Lord Reed will be going with him. Also, in the south, trial by combat exists. He can definitely hold his own against any opponent."

The Kingsguard bristled but held their tongue to not overextend their courtesies.

Rhaegar only sighed, "Even if your father invokes trial by combat, my father will choose fire as his champion as he has done in the past."

Perseus groaned, "What do you want, Prince Rhaegar? Get to it already."

Rhaegar did not hesitate, "I want the North's support to overthrow my father."

Lyarra and Perseus had varying reactions. Lyarra was shocked and surprised, but Perseus expected this. He had seen this coming, as it has been heard that Prince Rhaegar has been finding allies and his loyal men to rebel against his father, the father who had heard of this but given his already declining mental stature gave no rise or action to the news and now, the future king and lord of the Westeros stood in Winterfell asking, no, requesting his allegiance

Perseus stood up and responded, "I believe we have a lot to discuss, Prince Rhaegar."
