Casting a Spell. (Simplified version, I think?)

Casting a spell was divided into 3 steps.

Initiation.

Forming the Magic Circle.

Execution.

Initiation is simple, Mages absorb the surrounding Mana into their bodies through their skin pores. This Mana goes into Mage's Mana Veins, then, to increase the control over this Mana and make it more 'refined', the Mage circulates the Mana all around his body using his Mana Veins.

The Second Step, Forming the Magic Circle is where the Mage uses this refined Mana to form their Magic Circle, every Mage had a different interpretation of their Magic Circle, simply copying another's Magic Circle is impossible.

Of course, there are certain rules and magic theories a mage has to follow to form his circle, because of that, even though every mage has different circles, the 'strength' of these circles (the area in which a Mage can draw the Magic Patters and the number of Inner Circles inside the Magic Circle) is same for all mages.

For reference, this is Vaan's Magic Circle. *Image in Para Comment*

Once the Magic Circle is formed, comes the Last Step, Execution. This is where a Mage uses Mana as ink and draws the necessary Magic Patterns inside the Magic Circle he had created, the speed and preciseness at which a Mage draws these Magic Patterns decides the casting time and strength of the spell.

Here's the picture of an Empty Magic Circle (on the left) and a Magic Circle with Magic Patterns drawn inside it (on the right). *Image in Para Comment*

Anyways, once the Magic Patterns are drawn into the circle, Magic can be cast.

Now let's talk about Magic Patterns.

These Magic Patterns are also called Magic Language, or the Language of Magic because that is what these patterns are, another language.

Like saying, 'I Have A Dog' in English, can also be said in Hindi, 'Mere Pass Ek Kutta Hai'

Here, Dog and 'Kutta' has the same meaning. The other words of the English language can be connected to Hindi words as well.

Just like that, [Conjure Flames], these words can be connected to a certain 'Magic Pattern' that has the same meaning.

Words 'Conjure' and 'Flames' can be represented using different Magic Patterns and combining them would give us our resulting 'Sentence' or a 'Spell'.

A Mage remembers these patterns for different words, slowly and steadily, he explores the entirety of Magic Language where it comes to the point where he could 'write' anything he wants into the Magic Circle and can cast different spells, sometimes, even creating his own spells.

The Catch here is that a Mage has to do this all by himself. That means, just like Magic Circle, a mage cannot copy another mage's Magic Pattern either.

Every single Mage has his own interpretation of Magic Patterns, that is, all mages follow a different Magic Language than other mages.

That means, in their Magic Journey, a Mage's ultimate aim is to know everything there is to know about his Magic Language and get stronger.

Anyways, after this, we talk about another topic,

Inner Circles.

This is where the distinction between different mages is made.

This is where the importance of Magic research, the amount of time and effort a Mage put to work on himself, the number of spells he had learned, and all other factors come into play.

These Inner Circles were like stored smaller spells that help a Mage cast his spell without wasting much time.

For example,

Rather than,

[Conjure Fireball that changes its direction according to the amount of Mana injected into the Circle]

One can simply store, [Fireball] and [Direction Manipulation] inside 2 Inner Circles,

Then, the previously long Magic Pattern just becomes,

[Link 1 and 2 and conjure]

Normally, a Mage gets 4 Inner Circles at each level, which means a 1st Circle Mage would have 4 Inner Circles, 2nd Circles would have 8, and continue. Obviously, the more Inner Circles a Mage has, the more creative he can be and the stronger his spells will be.

The number of Inner Circles is also one of the major factors that differentiates between the strength of Basic Mages.

Unlike the Magic Patterns, a Mage cannot draw Inner Circles when in battle, therefore carefully selecting what spells to store inside the inner circles and getting used to them was an essential step in the journey of any mage.

The quality of spells stored inside these inner circles was a major factor in a Mage's strength. Of course, getting used to these Inner Circles was very important as well, it would be useless if a Mage ingeniously stores the best possible spells in his Inner Circles but later forgets which spell was stored inside which inner circle.

Some Inner Circles for reference are,

[Direction Manipulation], [Speed], [Clear], [Burst], and more.

So this was all there was to know about Magic System, obviously, right now, the major focus is on Basic Mages here, Intermediate Mages and Advance Mages might not follow the exact same structure, or they might?

Well, that will be revealed in the future.

Anyway, if you still have any doubts, feel free to comment and ask, I would love to answer.

Have a fun time reading the novel, I eagerly look forward to suggestions and theories, so I will be waiting for your comments.

Thank you~
