Chapter 3: Qin Zhan's Shot

The sudden incident on the train startled the passengers, and even the flight attendant was taken aback. He quickly believed the young child's story and pulled out a baton from behind, calling his companions with a serious expression, "Where are your companions?"

"In the restroom of the tenth carriage, there are three people on the other side, middle-aged, one with a goatee, one with a scar on his face, and one left-handed, all carrying a black bag with tools and stolen goods," Song Ye promptly reported the location and descriptions of the criminals, showcasing her organized thinking and allowing people to respond immediately.

The flight attendant explained that Song Ye had hurriedly left after waiting in place, unaware that she had just scared a girl from the countryside. Nevertheless, he found nothing unusual in her ability to think so clearly.

During this era, public security was relatively chaotic, so trains often had a few armed police officers serving as flight attendants to prevent robberies and other incidents.

Observing the flight attendant grab his baton and leave, Song Ye took advantage of the bustling crowd around her and stood up, making her way through the soft sleeper carriage. Now she had ample time to test her newfound abilities.

The soft sleeper compartment was not as private as the hard sleeper, but it provided more space and had closed doors. It was a higher-end option, although more expensive than the hard sleeper.

Song Ye strolled casually, her fingertips grazing each carriage. She could clearly see the couples and children in the first carriage, as well as the grandparents in the second carriage. In the third carriage, two elegantly dressed women were applying cosmetics in front of a mirror, using high-end products available on the market.

It wasn't until the fourth carriage that Song Ye became convinced of the incredible power she possessed. She also discovered the hidden space within her palm, allowing her to retrieve items from thin air simply by thinking about it. The rough stone that had disappeared earlier was also safely stored in this space.

Just as Song Ye was about to find a place to hide, sensing movement near the human traffickers, the situation in the fourth carriage beneath her palm caught her attention.

Inside were two men in their late twenties or early thirties. One was sitting at a table, gazing out the window. His profile, highlighted by the sunlight, revealed sharp angles and a determined curve at the corner of his mouth. His eyes exuded a calmness akin to a mountain, but also carried a strong aura of someone familiar with bloodshed. He was an exceptionally handsome man, different from the beautiful men one would encounter on the streets in the future. This man's bloody and rigid appearance could ignite a fiery passion within people's hearts. However, it wasn't his appearance that captivated Song Ye's attention but the overwhelming aura of death that surrounded him.

With just one glance, Song Ye could discern that this man had taken lives and had a considerable amount of blood on his hands.

On a train in a small city like Cloud City, encountering such an individual was enough to pique her curiosity. However, what surprised Song Ye even more was when the man sitting at the table opened his mouth to speak to the other person in a low voice.

Because she understood lip-reading, Song Ye could decipher the man's words despite the thick iron wall separating them. He said, "Major, do you need to go out and take a look?"

"Major." This rank represented the middle class in the army. Based on Song Ye's knowledge, one had to be at least thirty years old to achieve the rank of major. For someone of this young man's age to hold such a rank, it meant he was either a highly skilled professional or not someone to be taken lightly.

Although the two men were separated by a wall, they could still hear the commotion outside. The subordinate was obviously seeking instructions, but the man sitting at the table responded with a thunderous voice, uttering only two words, "No need." Whether it was due to his temperament or a bad mood, Song Ye felt his face was so cold and rigid that it could freeze.

Considering the presence of such a formidable figure on the train, Song Ye decided not to linger around to avoid exposing herself.

By this time, the swift flight attendant had already rescued the unconscious girl from the restroom, and two traffickers had been apprehended. After the girl identified them, their crime was confirmed.

"Hey, what about the child who reported the crime? Did any of you see her?" The flight attendant returned without spotting Song Ye, turning his head to search for her.

However, everyone in the carriage shook their heads, indicating they hadn't seen her. No one noticed the girl's figure amidst the crowd.

Since the main culprit had not been caught, the victim girl and the traffickers were kept under the flight attendants' supervision until they reached the terminal.

Song Ye observed the commotion at the station, witnessing the struggling traffickers and the victim's family in tears. Her brows furrowed deeply, and as she was about to leave the platform, she suddenly sensed footsteps behind her. The pace was fast, contrasting with the rhythm of the surroundings.

Song Ye's eyes hardened, and as the blade swished through the air, she swiftly moved, narrowly avoiding the attack. When she turned back, she was met with the grim face of the man with the goatee.

The man was taken aback, clearly not expecting Song Ye to evade the attack. He thought of his captured companion and grew even more resentful, saying, "You little brat! You've caused trouble for me. I won't spare you today."

With those words, the man continued to wield his sharp blade, thrusting it relentlessly. Song Ye had initially planned to teach him a lesson, but she realized her fifteen-year-old body's reactions and strength were insufficient. In desperation, she had to dodge awkwardly, hold her breath, and shout loudly, "Help! Don't kill me!"

"You little brat!" Seeing that his cry had alerted the people nearby, the man grew infuriated. Nevertheless, he had no choice but to turn around and flee.

Unaware that another train was approaching in the distance, the man bumped into the crowd along the raised platform in his haste.

Unbeknownst to him, Song Ye noticed the oncoming train and the cold railway tracks beneath the platform. Her eyes turned cold, and she tightly clenched the rough stone she had retrieved from her space. From her position, she could easily eliminate the man without leaving a trace.

However, just as she was about to strike, the man unexpectedly collided with a solid figure. In that moment of shock, he felt a searing pain in his wrist as his arm was twisted behind his back, causing him to wail in agony.

The crowd erupted into chaos, and the station staff quickly surrounded the man, confirming his identity before handing him over to the authorities. They expressed their gratitude to the man who had demonstrated such courage.

Qin Zhan relinquished custody of the man, refusing to reveal his name to receive any rewards from the station. He raised his gaze and glanced toward the group not far away.

If his memory served him right, the girl who had just cried for help was among them, bravely fighting the traffickers for a while.

But now she was nowhere to be seen.

"Major," the man behind him whispered, reminding him of the time.

Qin Zhan withdrew his gaze and walked decisively toward the exit of the station.

Meanwhile, Song Ye, who had managed to escape, boarded a bus and headed home.
