Chapter 18: I miss...
"You are fired," Sullivian calmely said to Ace while looking through a folder. Then he set it aside on the corner of his desk on top of other stacked files and looked at Ace directly. Just like the name suggests, "Sullivian" had deep eyes with a dangerous look in them. They felt so deep that anyone could feel his soul staring back at them. That look was repulsive, but something about it made Ace look straight into those golden Hazel eyes. He couldn't look away. " I will now talk to you as me, the head of the MAP group. Since you are no longer the driver I hired, let me no longer be the boss you served."
Ace dared to pull back his gaze and then again look at him, but this time, he made sure to avoid deep eye contact." I will be more than willing to talk to the original person behind the hypocrite." He was internally shaking. It was like he could actually feel all the blood vessels in him. it took him all that he had to say that, and now he regretted it. He wanted to fall to his knees and apologise. He wanted to beg for mercy, but his pride took over, and he stood there.
There was a gunshot as Rose led out a shriek filled with horror. Ace was now actually kneeling to the floor, blood coming from his stomach staining the white shirt. Sullivian turned around and said to the bodyguard, "Zane, that wasn't necessary. I wasn't done talking to him. I can't punish you like that yet because you are under my care, but would you like to be fired too?"
"I apologise, sir. That behaviour and language were unbearable within your court. "
" You will be sent to isolation for as long as he doesn't heal. You can be off now." Sullivian said and once again turned to Ace and Rose. " Sorry for the inconvenience," he said with a smug smile and continued, " Where were we? Ah, I remember. You would like to see me. Real non-hypocrite person. I am once again sorry because he is unavailable. He has to find a new driver and a full-time bodyguard for his now only daughter alive. But you can always come back after a visit to the hospital."
"Dad, I am really sorry. It was all my fault." She said, looking at the ground while trying to be strong and not cry or kneel beside Ace.
"I plan on taking care of that later." Sullivian said. Two strong men came and pulled them out of the room. Rose was actually grateful. She did not have the strength to walk across the room and through the door. Once out of the room, she threw herself on the floor and sobbed. Her mother, who was passing by guiding a maid to take champagne to VIP guests, spotted her there and came over.
" What's wrong, darling?" Maren asked.
"I miss her. He wouldn't even let us say her name out loud. She was always with me and there for me. Mom, I really miss Mary."
