The thunder clapped as water droplets kissed the ground. In a shrine built of gold and gems, a stone in a shape of a human with a pair of wings on his back stood proudly in the middle of the well taken cared shrine.
However, due to the weather, the shrine looked rather dull. In front of the statue, a woman in tattered clothes is found kneeling as she let out a string of sobs.
"Please... I beg of you, give me another chance and I will... I will do it right this time!" Tears streamed down her face as she begged desperately to the unmoving statue before her.
"Please, just one chance and I won't do it wrong! I'll make it right...please." The end of the sentence sounded more like of a whisper.
The woman, Arlene never looked this pitiful all her life, no, pitiful is an understatement. Her once vibrant autumn red hair became dull and frizzy, her once proud eyes looked devoid of any light. She looked more of a beggar in this state.
This is the price of her arrogance and ignorance, a truly fitting ending for such a person. No more than a beggar owning nothing but tattered clothes and a piece of bread that she stole earlier from a passing merchant.
Seeing the unresponsive statue in front of her, she laughed mockingly at herself as if finding herself ridiculous. What did she expect, of course even the heavens wouldn't take pity on someone like her. In fact, there is no such thing as second chance, if you make a mistake, you fix it on your own. But she...she can do nothing except wish to go back in time. Looking up at the dark sky, she can see the storm clouds spinning right above her as the rain fell directly in her face and...

Bold capitalized words from Arline's phone lit up her dark apartment. She stared blankly at the her screen as veins started to pop out of her forehead.
This stupid game. Seriously, after 15 attempts, she never won even once. Despite taking different routes, she still manage to face the same stupid ending again and again.
'Love Luck Lock' is a game that's basically booming, an otome game to be exact. Yes, it's stupid for a 24 years old adult to play some childish dating game but can you actually blame her? It's her only relief after a long day of work.
'Love Luck Lock' is a game set on the medieval era with enough attractive capture targets that immediately took majority of the female population to empty their pockets for this type of shit. Including her haha...joke, she got it from a giveaway she tried so hard to win.
The story starts after the protagonist got accepted into the most prestigious school in the kingdom after working hard in her studies despite the lack of education she had.
The protagonist is described to be gentle, kind, generous and basically the whole seven virtue incarnate. She's also beautiful, she has a long wavy white hair that flows like a river as they twirled at every step she takes, a pair emerald green eyes that shines of innocence.
Such rare gem was born from a low class commoner couple, but despite this, she believes that people needs to be equally treated, whether they were rich or poor. On her first day of school, she bumped into Arlene, the basic villainess in Mary Sue novels. Obviously, Arlene got pissed. That was when a hot guy showed up in front of the female lead to defend her from Arlene's endless jabbering. From then on, something sparked between the two. But of course, will it be called an otome game if there's only one love interest? No shit sherlock, one by one, charming men started appearing before her slowly paving their way into her heart.
Capture target No.1, Damianne De Regulus, the crown prince. Capture Target No.2, Romeone Lloviod, the pending heir of the grand duke of the east. Capture target No.3, Heldren De Regulus, the 2nd prince. Capture Target No.4, Helios Greacia, a general that works for Arlene's family, the dukedom of the west. And capture target No.5, Gredgio Olgeria, some cool smart guy.
But that's not the only thing. In this game, you can pick any characters you'd want to use to pave way into the leading mens hearts. Basically earning favorability points in simple terms. Majority of the players picked out Sylvie, the protagonist of the story, yet some wanted to be different. They'd use Cherryl, or Harrizz, both are simply cannon fodders and many more.
And then there's Arlene. No matter, she's the hardest one to use, not because she's unlikable, but simply because she's VERY unlikable even the capture targets favorability never budges. There's barely anyone who got a good ending when selecting Arlene. Most just simply gave up, and a few chose to be stubborn not stopping until they'd win. As for her, she simply used Arlene because their names are close enough.
In her own humble opinion, the production team probably just wanna torture Arlene, seriously, even the information about her is not well described.
Taking a deep sigh, Arline put aside her phone as she glanced at the clock. 'Great, 2 AM.' After a long day and night playing that game rather than sleeping, her throat quite felt dry.
Getting up from her bed, she suddenly felt something slippery beneath her feet, she slipped and...
'Blank'
"Please....on....ance..."
'Huh?'
"thi....me....right..."
'Who's that?'
"Please! I beg of you, just one last chance...just this time!"
'Since when did it started to rain?'
'Someone's...crying?...wait...'
'I'm crying?'
Arline's cloudy vision started to clear up and then she saw clearly, in front her is...A butt naked statue with wings...although, it has an interesting pose...
"What the f-"
