Chapter 3: Chapter 3
Glenn continued to advance in the passage he had discovered, the more he advanced the more he could feel a draft of air coming from the bottom of the path.
He kept walking when he finally got out of the hallway he was in and came to a gigantic place that looked like it was inside a mountain or something similar.
A slight hole let through a ray of the sun which lit up the cavity where he was, it wasn't much, it was enough for him to see what was around him.
A few meters in front of him he noticed a huge void where he could not even see the bottom and at the other end of this void he saw something he would never have imagined finding in such a place.
"WOW....what the hell is this!!!"
In front of him was what looked like a huge fortress that seemed to be very old.
How did such a thing end up here and no one ever find it? These were the questions running through Glenn's mind.
Despite the discovery he had just made, he didn't see anything that looked like an exit, which was starting to annoy him, he had no desire to stay stuck here.
He looked around in search of anything that looked like a sally when his gaze fell on a kind of pedestal that was three meters from him.
once in front of the base he observed it from top to bottom and noticed a kind of slit above with a slight red light emanating from it, at the same time he felt the sword vibrate in his back.
He took it in his hand and saw that the symbol was also glowing red. He looked at the base then the sword before making the blade of energy appear with a simple thought then slipped the blade into the slot which surprisingly entered perfectly.
When he slid the blade to the end a huge tremor resounded throughout the cave, he looked around him while beginning to doubt what he had just done.
Suddenly the tremors stop and a bridge made of red energy appears connecting where Glenn was directly to the fortress.
"Well I know where I have to go at least."
He removed the sword from the base and saw that the bridge was still there. He walked on the bridge while contemplating the building in front of him, what kind of thing was he going to find in it?
Once the bridge crossed he arrived in front of a huge door with the same symbol that he had in his right eye engraved in large on the door. He was taken aback when his eye began to shine but he regained his senses quickly then approached the door and put his hand on it.
When he did this a loud thud sounded and the door began to open. Inside he could just see a hallway with some sort of platform at the end.
He entered the hallway and walked to the platform which lit up when he stepped on it and began to ascend like an elevator.
Glenn climbed for several seconds before the platform stopped.Once stopped, the room in which he had just arrived lit up with bluish light. He looked around and found himself in a place with both medieval and futuristic architecture.
In front of him was a giant window that allowed him to see the entire cave from inside the fortress. His attention was then drawn by what looked like a control terminal on which was a large button with the famous symbol on it.
He put his hand on it and a tremor ran through the fortress but what unsettled him the most was the voice that echoed all around him.
"Welcome new slayer !"
"Wait what! What was that!?!" yelled glenn taken aback by the situation.
"My apologies...allow me to introduce myself, I'm Vega an AI in charge of helping you, nice to meet you slayer!"
Glenn remained silent for a few seconds, not knowing what to answer to this AI with a male voice.
"ummm....yeah sure....well I'm glenn...glenn buster....nice to meet you I guess."
"How can I help you?" asked vega politely.
Glenn did not answer immediately, for the moment he had to concentrate and assimilate everything that had just happened. He entered this strange building and now here he is talking with some kind of artificial intelligence.
Several questions crossed his mind but one in particular intrigued him.
"You called me several times (slayer) but what does that mean?" This word was not unknown to him, he had heard it before passing out earlier and now this AI was calling him that, there had to be an explanation.
"Well I call you that because that's what you are now!"
" What do you mean ?"
"The sword you carry behind you is proof of that!"
"What...you mean that sword?" he said while taking the sword and activating it.
"Exactly, this sword is the crucible, a mitic weapon capable of being wielded only by slayers, which is proof that you are indeed one!"
"Okay but...what exactly is a slayer?"
"Slayers are individuals chosen to protect their world from the threat of hell and you became one after being chosen by the cricuble that belonged to a former slayer."
He really didn't know what to fear from this information, should he believe this AI for this slayer story or if he should just do as it was and try to leave as soon as he can. For now he had to find a way out of this cave.
"Tell me hmmm vega it was isn't it... you wouldn't have any idea how to get out of here by any chance?"
" Analise.... It seems that we are in a cavity... visual impossible on the exterior... activation of the emergency repositioning procedure... I advise you to hang on slayer!"
"Emergency procedure? What does it mean…."
He didn't have time to get an answer when the whole building began to shake and a blinding light began to illuminate everything around him.
*ZWAP*
After a few seconds the blinding light disappeared and Glenn was able to open his eyes again then looked around to understand what had just happened but his gaze widened when he saw the remnant broken moon which was strangely much larger.
He walked to the window and it was then that his gaze became completely petrified when he saw what must have been remnant to be a thousand or even million kilometers from where he was and that's where he understood that he was no longer on remnant but in space.
"....Holy shit...."
