Chapter 2: Shirogane Kei
Opening my eyes slowly, the first thing I noticed was the ceiling above my head. It's broken, and I'm sure if it rains, my room is going to get flooded. I should have learned how to swim. Dad even told me it'd come in handy but I didn't listen. The moral of the story; listen to your parents.
Putting that problem for the future me to face, I turn my head to see my beautiful neighbor dozing off on a chair near my bed. She must have kept an eye on me as I remained unconscious. Seriously, this girl is way too nice.
Still, I should better check if she stole something or not. Who am I kidding? She wouldn't do something like that. I don't have anything worth stealing anyway.
My head is still hurting a bit, but I'm sure I can handle this much. Compared to the pain I felt earlier, this much is nothing.
Pushing myself off the bed, I continued to observe my surroundings. Now that I've got the memories of Yuuki Yoshihiro, this place doesn't look so strange. It even feels a bit homely. I guess something good came out of me getting those memories.
"Shirogane-san."
I called out to the girl who was dozing off in my chair. Her hair was looking a bit messy, but she still looked stunning. What frightening power. Anime girls can't be underestimated.
"Mm~"
Instead of waking up, Shirogane Kei made some cute noise and turned away from me. What was that? Is she dreaming about a muffin? She is dreaming about a muffin.
"Oi, wake up. Your family is going to kill me if they find out you're in my room."
The girl didn't budge. She was still in the dreamland enjoying a muffin while I was worrying about what her father and brother would do to me. 'Yuuki Yoshihiro', the past me, had seen her father. Now that I have his memories, I remember our first interaction.

(Flashback)
"Do you like living?"
A middle-aged man with short hair parted down the middle section, asked me as he stared into my eyes with a blank face.
Uwaa. Creepy.
"Uhm, yeah I guess... Bu-"
"Good. It'd be easy then."
The man moved closer to me, prompting me to take a step back.
"...What are you talking about? Why are you asking if I like living or not?"
Ignoring the past me, the man simply moved closer to me and grabbed both my shoulders, holding me in place. He looked into my eyes, and with the scariest voice I have heard, said-
"If you like living, I'd advise you to stay away from my daughter."
(Flashback Ends)

"Oi, wake up! It's not funny! Please wake up!"
I moved closer to the girl and shook her lightly. It was getting dark outside. Her father would get worried. God knows what he would do to me if he saw her inside my room dozing off on a chair at this time.
I remember the comedy element in most anime shows I watched. They were mostly caused by a misunderstanding. I don't want to die to keep the humor going, not at all!
Thankfully, my prayers were heard. Slowly opening her eyes, Shirogane Kei blinked a few times to adjust to her surroundings. She turned her gaze toward me before her eyes widened.
"You're awake?!"
"That should be my line."
And here I was hoping I could add a Skyrim line in here.
"How is your head? Does it still hurt? I called the ambulance some time ago, but they didn't pick up the call! How can they be so irresponsible?"
Ignoring what I was saying, the girl kept on muttering to herself angrily. She looked like a rabbit that was robbed of her carrot. In other words, scary but in a cute way. Am I making sense?
"Calm down," I said, giving her a reassuring nod. "I'm fine now, and it's all thanks to you."
The girl stopped muttering as she looked up at me, seemingly calming down. Great. At least she is listening to me now.
"I'm sorry for what you have to go through because of me. You must have panicked. You just came here to greet me and I fainted on you. I apologize for that."
The girl, instead of accepting my apology like I thought she would, furrowed her brows. What? Did I make you mad, Rabbit-san?
"You shouldn't apologize," Shirogane said sternly, her gaze made me straighten my back. That's a future student council president for you. "You didn't faint on purpose. Only a cruel person would think that lending a helping hand to someone in need is an inconvenience. What I did was the right thing to do. Instead of apologizing, you should thank me instead."
What's with this charisma? I almost turned into a fanboy.
"You're right." I nod my head at her, as a small smile graced my lips. "Thank you so much for helping me. I'm extremely lucky to have a neighbor like you."
The girl smiled at my words, looking quite pleased. She stood up from the chair and adjusted her hair before looking at me.
"Aren't you going to introduce yourself? It got interrupted before." Shirogane-san smiled politely. "I still don't know your name."
Nodding, I introduce myself to the girl.
"Yoshihiro Yuuki. That's my name. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Shirogane-san."
"Likewise, Yuuki-san."
We both chatted after that for some time, but seeing how dark it was getting outside, Shirogane Kei finally decide to take her leave.
Standing outside my apartment, Kei Shirogane put a strand of hair behind her ear.
"I will see you later, Yuuki-san. I hope you don't faint the next time we meet."
"I don't plan to."
I smiled at her words and shook my head.
"Seriously though, I'm glad you're my neighbor. There are not many people out there who are willing to help someone in need. If your family is anything like you, then I'm lucky to have rented this place. From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for today."
The girl didn't speak but simply nodded. Just as she turned around, I was able to see a hint of smile on her face. Her ears were a bit red as well. Look at her getting all embarrassed. She is a tsundere, but a good kind.
Just as the girl went inside her apartment, which was just in front of me, I entered my apartment and closed the door behind me.
"..."
Since the moment I regained consciousness, I have been wondering one thing.
