Author's Thoughts & Overview
Hello everyone, I'm BreathOfAdventure. I'm an avid reader of novels and decided to take a shot at writing my own piece. I'm a native English speaker so hopefully you'll all find my SPAG helpful and easy to read and that it doesn't interrupt the flow of the piece.
This is my first novel and my experience writing in general is relatively limited. I am a biomedical science student at university so writing in general was never my forte but I hope to create an engaging piece that people will enjoy.
All criticism is welcome and I hope to continually improve as the novel progresses. I hope to create a novel that gets better as it goes along, rather than the standard where novels largely become full of boring filler chapters.
The main character of this novel, V, is highly intelligent and driven, with an intense desire to unravel the mysteries of the universe. I have read many novels that use magic systems based on physics such as Throne Of Magical Arcana which I highly enjoyed. Despite that, I wanted to try something new. I wanted to use my background in biology and chemistry to create a fresh reading experience. This is where V will excel and utilize his knowledge to better his foes. V won't have any hugely overpowered abilities and I hope to avoid unrealistic scenarios and Deus Ex Machina that I understand people find hard to enjoy. That being said, I hope to curate a novel where the MC relies on his intelligence and ruthlessness to succeed.
For anyone interested in the romance aspect of the novel, I intend to create several romantic partners throughout the course of the novel but wish to avoid harem scenarios. Hopefully, people will prefer that to the plethora of harem novels out there.

POWER SYSTEM
10 levels of power - based on progression through magic system
Initiate(1) -> Novice(2) -> Journeyman(3) ->Veteran(4) -> Commander(5) ->Tyrant(6) ->Emerger(7) ->Conqueror(8) ->Sovereign(9) ->Transcendent(10)
Within novel I will use both number and rank together to avoid confusion i.e A Rank 1 Initiate, A Rank 6 Tyrant etc.

10 Stars Of Power - based on battle prowess (i.e. beat a journeyman in combat and you have a rank 3 star level even if you're a novice)
Bronze 1 Star -> Bronze 2 Stars -> Bronze 3 Stars -> Silver 1 Star -> Silver 2 Stars -> Silver 3 Stars -> Gold 1 Star -> Gold 2 Stars -> Gold 3 Stars -> Platinum Star
I will use the terms bronze 2 star/ double bronze star etc. interchangeably, hopefully that wont be confusing.
