Chapter 16: Meeting his mom
"How could I have thought someone could accept me and my colorless hair."Regina thought as Debbie helped her put on the wig. When she looked at herself in the mirror, she almost thought she had black hairs. Debbie's trick was so good, anyone who hadn't met her before would've believed she had black hair. She had to admit that she liked it.
"Whatever, I don't care if he doesn't like the color of my hair. It's not like him liking my hair will do me any good"she thought as she walked downstairs though she still had a sad look.
Lexus was ready, he looked as beautiful as he was the first time she saw him. Purple tuxedo and a purple top hat. This time he didn't wear his purple gleaming earring as an earring but as a brochure instead, which was still a ravishing way to wear it too.
Once Regina got to the sitting room, Lexus checked her out.
"The dress looks good on you. You're beautiful in that dress"he said.
"Thanks"she blushed as she spoke, ignoring the other meaning behind his words. Lexus offered her his arm and she took it(reluctantly though).
"Off to my challenge"she thought as they got into the car.

This was the first time Lexus actually found Regina ...attractive. He had always found her...mediocre with looks. He had dated many women, all of them with looks worth that of top models(most of them were top models).
He was just from finding out her beauty was rare, not flashy but breath taking. The black wig only added to her charm. "Black wig!"Lexus thought. He had to cook up something to tell her about the wig.
As always, Regina was trying to keep them a metre apart from each other.
"Hey!"he said as he moved closer to her. She didn't flinch, she looked at him, a tinge of sadness in her eyes.
"Uh...for the wig...."he started but interrupted by Regina.
"No need, I know. My hair's colour isn't very attractive"she said as she looked downward. That wasn't what Lexus meant. He didn't dislike her hair, they were valuable to him. He just ordered she wear the wig because he didn't want his mother to have doubts about the marriage.
If his mother found out he married Regina because of her hair, she'd force him to file for an annulment. If he fails to do this, she'd hate him for life or disown him though he'll still inherit his father's mafia. But he'll never have internal peace if his mother hates him.
"No, that's not why I ordered you wear the wig. It's just that I'm scared my family might judge you because of your hair colour"he said. "It won't be for long though, when my mother gets to know you more and like you then we can reveal it to her"he added reassuringly and smiled at her. She smiled back at him though she still had a sad look.
Now that he had spoken to Regina about the wig, he could have some peace of mind. He was scared Regina might mess everything up at the last minute all because she was forced to wear a wig but she didn't even plan on doing such.
He could finally relax, everything was perfect for the visit; his wife was manageably good enough, he didn't put on an earring (he still has nightmares from the last time he paid a visit to his mother with an earring on). His only problem was the usual unease he felt every time he was in town Y, Levis' territory.

Regina felt so bad. Apparently their destination was located in Town Y, her home town. She wanted to tell the driver to stop so she could leave so bad but she couldn't.
"Don't worry. You'll do a good job at the visit and then you'll be able to ask him if you can go home"she reassured herself.
The car stopped 30 minutes later at their destination, a large Italianate mansion. Alex exited the car and held the door for Lexus and her and they walked into the mansion.
Once, Regina had watched a movie about a mafia boss. His wife was a hot ice block who acted like a bitch, dressed like one and was really cruel. She had concluded Lexus' mother would be something like that since her husband, Lexus' father was once the Mafia boss. Surprisingly, his mother was nothing like that. Regina wouldn't have known who Lexus' mother was if the women hadn't called him son.
"Greetings, I'm his mother"she said to Regina as she gestured to Lexus. The lady was slightly taller than Regina with wavy raven black hair and cold ocean green eyes. Her nose was high and pointed and her lips like Lexus',firm and pinkish. She was dressed in a purple dress similar to hers but looked more costly. She looked calm and had a cold threatening aura surrounding her.
"G-greetings madame, I'm honored to be in your presence"she said. Lexus' mother almost burst out laughing, she gave Regina an amused look then gave Lexus a strange one.
"Lex, did you give her politeness classes before taking her here? I'm sure she aced them. I've never seen you with any lady this polite, where did you get her? Don't tell me she's scared of me, don't worry I don't bite. Well, except Mellie (one of Lexus' exes), she was really annoying, so I stitched her lips together. I don't really know if it hurt, she didn't say anything. Anyway forget about it, I'm Isabella but you can call me Bella"
Lexus' mother said in an energetic Italian accent.
Regina was startled by her abrupt transformation, her cold eyes were now shimmering and her threatening aura turned into a playful one. She hadn't expected Lexus' mother to be anything like this;she was friendly, wore less makeup, didn't dress indecently, seemed kind and had a sense of humor. Though she still found the 'stitching whoever's lips together' part a little scary, she kind of liked the woman.
"My name is Regina, it's nice to meet you"she said with more courage than before. Bella just gave her an amused look then hugged the two of them.
"Come, have a sit"Bella said as she led to a purple room.
"Not bad, I guess this isn't gonna be too hard".
