Chapter 8: Chapter 8. Monster Levels and Statistics

Realizing that the drawing had disappeared, just as Ever had said, I decided to turn to her.

"How many points do I have now?" I asked her.

"You currently have 4280 points. This information is available in your status," she replied.

"That's better. So, what about the monsters, dungeons, and everything else I need to know?" I asked.

"At the moment, only six categories of monsters are known, but stronger monsters may appear in the future," Ever said.

"Why do you always add 'at the moment'?" I asked.

"Unfortunately, due to the limited information in the system database, I cannot provide you with precise information, only what is available from the memories transmitted to the system," she explained.

"Memories? Whose memories?" I asked eagerly.

"The memories of the previous owner of this body. His memories will also be transmitted to you, but I filter them due to the potential mental burden on the host," she replied.

I was shocked by what she said. The previous owner of the body? So, am I like a parasite in his body? Then what about my own body, if I'm in his? Such thoughts filled my mind. I simply couldn't come to terms with what I had heard from Ever.

"If I'm in his body, why do you call me the host?" I asked her, feeling saddened.

"Because you are the host," she replied.

"Host this, host that. I told you to call me by my name!" I yelled out of anger or frustration from the information I had received earlier.

"If you insist, I will call you Temir," she responded.

"It doesn't matter, call me whatever you find convenient," I replied, calming down.

"So, what about the monsters? What are their known categories at the moment?" I asked.

"On the present moment, humanity is aware of six categories of monsters," she said, after which she monotonously described them.

Level 1: Weak monsters Such as: Goblins, Skeletons, Ratmen, Zombies, Spiders, Wolves, and others. ??? ... Level 2: Intermediate monsters Such as: Orcs, Trolls, Goblins, Gnolls, Centaurs, Giant Spiders, and others ??? ... Level 3: Strengthened monsters Such as: Minotaurs, Harpies, Cyclopes, Vampires, Magical Beasts, Witches, and others ??? ... Level 4: Mighty monsters Such as: Giants ??? ??? ??? ... Level 5: Epic monsters Such as: Liches, ??? ??? ??? ... Level 6: Legendary monsters Such as: Ghostly Spirits, ??? ??? ??? ...

"In the monster classification system, levels are determined by their difficulty and power. The lowest level contains categories with the highest number of monsters in one location. As the level increases, the number of monsters in each category decreases, but their power and danger increase. Each category of monsters governs the category one level below, based on its superior strength and status. Such a hierarchy ensures that each category of monsters has its own leader and controls the lower category," she added monotonously.

"Why so many question marks, especially in the last three categories?" I asked in confusion, as the list in front of me displayed too many questions.

"The number of question marks is due to a lack of information. The system suspects that there are more monster races than currently known," she replied.

"I see, so you will be adding to this list in the future?" I said.

"Yes, as you correctly noted, the list will only expand in the future," she said.

"Understood. Ever, open up my status," I said.

"Of course, here is your status," she replied as she opened a menu resembling a status screen or a screen resembling a status menu, it doesn't matter.

"Oh, YES. Unbelievable. It's like I'm in a game. There is no limit to my happiness at the moment. I rejoiced as if I had won a championship in my favorite game or as if I had won a billion. It's... simply unreal. After calming down a bit, I looked closely at the status window.

In the opened status, I saw my attributes. Surprisingly, they looked really good. Specifically:

Name: Temir

Race: Human

Age: 22

Level: 3

Strength - 11 (6+5)

Dexterity - 9 (3+6)

Intelligence - 10 (6+4)

Health - 99 (54+45)

Speed - 45 (15+30)

Mana - 70 (42+28)

Abilities:

Unique abilities:

Passive abilities:

Unique attributes: Ever - Level 1, lottery ticket (usage limit - infinite, usage restriction - once a week).

I believe these are excellent attributes, but perhaps it's not the case since I don't know the average level of attributes in this world. I hope I at least have average attribute levels.

What's interesting are the numbers in the statistics. For example, Strength is 11 with 6+5 in parentheses. The same goes for Dexterity and Intelligence. I pondered for a while until I realized that the first number represents the attribute points allocated to each attribute for this level. Perhaps, for each level gained, I receive 5 attribute points.

Now let's turn to the attributes of Health, Speed, and Mana. I think for every 1 point of Strength, I receive 9 points of Health. How did I figure it out? I simply divided 99 Health by 11 Strength. I applied the same calculation to Speed and Mana, resulting in 1 point of Dexterity equaling 5 points of Speed and 1 point of Intelligence equaling 7 points of Mana.

To be certain about my assumptions, I turned to Ever, or rather, I wanted to turn to her.

"That's correct. At each level, you receive 5 points to distribute among Strength, Dexterity, and Intelligence. As you calculated, 1 point of Strength equals 9 points of Health, 1 point of Dexterity equals 5 points of Speed, and 1 point of Intelligence equals 7 points of Mana," she told me.

"I was right?!" I exclaimed with delight.

"As previously stated, yes, you are correct," she replied.

And then I remembered that I hadn't fully inspected the status. After all, it should contain a shop, exchange, and lottery. I redirected my focus to the status and began searching for the lottery section.

And there it was, or rather, they were.

Unique attribute-less abilities: Shop (Level 1), Exchange (Level 1), Lottery (Level 1).

I immediately reached out for the word "Lottery."
