Chapter 60: Confrontation - Season 2 - Chapter 53

Finally got the ability to write, currently using a Mac PC which is kinda annoying to use but whatever, it works.

Over the past 29ish days a lot happened in my personal life so when I had gotten access to this momentary solution I didn't immediately write, I've had this thing for like 20 days now, I just took a lot of time to relfect.

A favorite Fan-Fic author of mine is finishing their book after 500 chapters (The Cursed Gamer), another favorite author is having writers block and is reflecting their writing, people I looked up to are quitting or changing their styles or content online, and I overall just started looking at myself differently.

I basically just sat back and started looking at writing differently as a whole as it's been 6 months since I started doing this (I could've sworn it'd been like 2 years I swear). I just recently started bettering myself overall and it made me take a moment to look at my stories in general.

I'm going to continue writing but I wanna do it more, or just better, I'm also just gonna take things into my own hands overall, things like 'harem' members might change, story points will change, and just overall I'm gonna do as I want when it comes to writing instead of limiting myself to what I've seen of others or been told by others.

I also ended up essentialy taking a protege/partner in writin and I have been friends for awhile and started a duo book at , our styles are different and we're in a form teaching each other.

Anyways Enjoy (Don't worry about the length of this chapter, I always hit 2k words for the story alone not including these top and bottom parts.)

(This chapter may feel off as I wasn't able to figure out mentally if just wanted to scrap this idea and rewrite the old chapter or continue on, I decided to run with the current idea. so yeah, it's kinda rushed)

MC POV

I can't quite remember when it had started anymore, slowly, taking its sweet time, I got lonely. Others around me had distanced themselves, some not of their own volition, some the opposite.

"My dreams keep getting weirder and weirder", yawning the small boy places his book down, his feet thumping on the ground as he drags himself towards the stack of books on a nearby ex-storage shelf.

Books about topics regarding heroism, school, and a few about gravity, this type was his favorite.

Placing his book back in its proper place the boy heads out of the room, the soft pattering of a dog nearby his feet.

The halls were loud, filled with children interacting an enjoying their free time throughout the day. It was something you got used to here quite quickly, especially with people like Tao Hideo around, there was never any time to burn day light with him around.

'The library is quite full right now', walking through a few people are strewn about the room, Tao Hideo, some no younger than five, other no older than fifteen, there where roughly seven people in total currently in the room, excluding myself.

One of the girls, Tamura Minako, had noticed, many others following in suit. They had all slightly, and to their best, gotten ever so slightly away from where ever I had decided to walk, though they tried to hide this act.

Strolling around the room I pick up a book before setting it back down, checking different books as if looking for something, one about fighting, another about precisions, book after book, page after page, constanlty somethign new, never truly taking time to look at one thing for too long.

"Having trouble?"

Turning towards my right a woman stands infront of me, her split colored red and white hair taking my eyes.

"Mrs. Todoroki, ah, no, I'm fine"

"Are you sure? Then you have the book you want, something you can stick to?"

"Ah, this book? No, it just looked interesting is all", still holding the book I turn to face her, the book being No Longer Human.

"Then what are you looking for? I'm always here to help you know, as much as you did for me."

For some reason her words felt off, they made my stomach feel weird, though I couldn't quite tell why.

"Nothing specific, just trying to find something fun to read is all"

"So all those books you were looking at weren't fun? Then what would be a fun read? How about I help you try and find one?"

"Uhm.. It's fine it's getting a bit late, I need to do some studying they gave me", it was a almost reflexive answer, like raising your hand in class because you think you know an answer, but did you even read the question?

Did I really know what type of book I was looking for?

"You studied earlier didn't you? It's always good to take a break, let the mind rest."

Taking a step back my eyes stare at the floor a bit, "i-i forgot to study yesterday, so I need to make up for it, yeah", the 'yeah' comes out barely audible for the older woman but she hears it.

"Ne-"

"It's alright Mrs. Fuyumi"

The older woman seems to turn, her gaze momentarily falling back on the boy before looking at someone else in the room, a new arrival.

The boy turns towards the new arrival, his body shaking slightly from the constant questions.

"Oh, S-"

"I'M FINE I DON'T NEED ANY HELP", pushing past the two older women the door is quickly thrown open, his feet stamping down the hall.

"I'll follow after him, you know how he can get when he has trouble answering something".

Running down the hall the boy takes several turns before he runs past someone, a tall male with white hair with a soft black glow, a set of black eyes and stars almost glittering inside them, his steps quiet, and quick.

Running for a bit longer the boy stops, his laboring breathing being disregarded as he snaps around, an almost longing feeling inside.

"Who... who are you", despite just having been by him the figure is already at the end of the oddly long hallway, his hand reaching down and opening a door at the hall end.

"Hey-" quickly trying to follow, a sense of urgency in his step, he sprints, only being interrupted as he goes to open the door.

'What?'

Looking down his hand hovers above the handle, 'why, why can't I grab the handle, why'.

Softly steps approach behind him, turning around a woman softly pics the book, one he had unknowingly dropped. Her soft green hair slightly covering her face.

Turning she takes slow steps forward, like approaching a scared animal, "Look I know you're confused and scared, but it's okay, let me-"

"NO! I DON'T WANT HELP, I'M SUPPOSED TO HELP OTHERS", this time, this time the door handle was easy to open.

If you runaway from one thing you'll only end up running towards something else.

His feet crash into the floor like bricks, his body glowing purple as he runs forward, his body dragging through a dark reflective ocean, weighed down by himself and his throughts before he slips.

Crashing like a flood his body is doused in water, and yet he stays unwet, the water only meeting a protective barrier wrapping his body.

Slowly lifting his body he find himself in a lake, one directly connected to an old mideval like town nearby, parts of it destroyed.

Turning, the childs gaze meets the floor, the reflective water showing an almost exact copy, only one difference.

A young adult male on the floor, like himself he is also on his knees, but unlike himself the heroes face is covered, both hood and hands hiding himself from looking at something, something he'd long disregarded and forgotten.

"Oh, it's you"

For a moment, through the cracks of his fingers the older male peaks through, the now purple eyed people gazing at one another, one a lost fragment, the other almost looking like a child.

In this scenario, for the both of them, it was obvious the roughly 13 year old boy was the lost fragment.

The two, after many years, being forced to confront each other.

It's truly a hard task, confronting something you never wanted.

[The Confrontation Between The Lost Fragment and The Living Singularity Has Begun]

[Deteration of Mental Sate has Halted]

[If This Meet Fails, Immediate Complete Deteration Will Happen]

[Good Luck]

Due to personal reasons I will have to cut this chapter short, this is techincally a half chapter (having reached 1000 words for the actual story)

I've been contemplating a lot with this book, the story having evolved in ways I wouldn't have imagined and my skill as a writer changing.

I can't count the amout of times I've debated restarting the entire book, though I've decided against this, instead I'll just need to take time to think, better ways to show my future ideas more, and use this book as an example of my growth throughout time I've spent writing.

Also the book No Longer Human is the name of a book Osamu Dazai, although I've never read it, it's a book about existence, self-destruction, allienation, and inability to connect with others. Something I've been sorta trying to slightly convey with my story just on a very light scale, though I've heavily failed at this in my eyes.

Sorry if this chapter felt weird, but I hope you did enjoy.
