Chapter 42: Somewhere Else (2)

Akerian Empire...

A small tear could be seen forming across the space. The tear is increasing in size as time passed. Though the increase is invisible to the eye of a normal being, a powerful being could easily detect it. The only way for a normal being to see is if they have sufficient equipment.

Tens of thousands of formations were raised near the tear. Each formation housed hundreds of soldiers or was used to store supplies for the invasion.

Inside one such formation...

"How are things going on our end?" a burly man enamored in rich-looking clothes asked. One can say that he holds a lot of power in his hands from his attire. It is not just his clothes, even his demeanor indicates that he is very powerful.

A lean man who looked more like a scientist than a soldier replied, "My lord, there doesn't seem to be any discrepancies from the previous recordings. The tear seemed to keep the same timetable give or take a few years, from what was recorded ten thousand years ago".

"Good, this time we would bring an end to those vermin. They survived the last war but this time they would fail".

"Yes my lord".

"They were lucky that one of them was able to find a way to sabotage us and ruin our plan. They paid a hefty price for that. This time there won't be any mistakes. They would end before they know what happened".

Grace Hall...

An old man could be seen meditating near a lake. Anyone who saw him would imagine him as some heavenly sage.

The old man lived like one. The only living quarters near the lake is an old hut which is the house of the old man. The lake looked serene, giving peace to whoever approached it.

The peace got broken when an armed soldier entered the premises.

Before the soldier spoke, "What is so urgent for a Guard Captain to break my peace?"

The captain sweated a little. Though the old man had the demeanor of a sage, he was known for his ruthlessness. He never went and looked out for conflicts but if someone pushes him, he would mercilessly eradicate them.

The captain adjusted himself and spoke, "Sir, we got reports that the Akerian and Tevo empires have amassed a large proportion of their armies. From what our spies detected, the positions where they amassed are near to a tear".

The old man waved his hand, "Don't worry Captain Vaze. An inter-dimensional war is going to happen. Just like it happened before. Unless they succeed in eliminating their opponent world's rulers, they can't do shit.

The only problem here is with Akerian Empire. They almost won the war last time but lost their chance. This time luck may not be on that lower world. If that world is defeated, then Akerian could establish a personal portal into the lower realms.

This would be a threat to other worlds of the lower realm, as they don't need to wait for thousands of years to expand and exploit. Unless the Tevo empire doesn't have the chance of winning the lower world, a local war isn't probable but we should be ready for it".

The captain spoke again, "That's the problem, sir. The skirmishes between them have already started. Everyone knows how badly that lower realm world suffered and they also know the protectors of that world have reproduction issues.

Unless they had rectified it in the past ten thousand years, they are too few in number. They may drag a few years but they would certainly fall before the war ended.

Unlike the position of the Akerion Empire, the world connected to them showed great resistance every time a war occurred. Their resistance kept increasing every time, which only caused the Tevo empire to lose a lot.

They are sure that they wouldn't be able to win the war. So they are making it difficult for the Akerion. The issue is that Tevo gained a few other smaller allies that kept harassing Akerion".

The old man sighed, "This is going to be a greater problem than I expected", he turned to look at the captain, "Inform the elders that we'll have an emergency meeting in an hour".

The captain nodded and bowed before leaving the old man alone.

The old man muttered, "I had a feeling that something big is going to happen. I think this has to do with the upcoming wars. I need to find more information to be better prepared".

After that, he stood up and left his peaceful domain.
